  • Best "For Pay" wpf controls

    If this question has been asked then I applogize and I will join in voting to close it (or just delete it), but I could not find it being asked before. We are potentially embarking on making many of our apps using WPF. Most of our apps are normal business apps that will not need too much eye candy. Tasteful ui is nice, but I don't see us doing lost of custom animations and such. So, my question is what 3rd party control sets are the best ones to purchase to save you time in development of apps like this? (These should work with both Visual Studio 2008 and 2010.)

  • Why are emails sent from my applications being marked as spam?

    Hi. I have 2 web apps running on the same server. The first is www.nimikri.com and the other is www.hourjar.com. Both apps share the same IP address (75.127.100.175). My server is through a shared hosting company. I've been testing my apps, and at first all my emails were being delivered to me just fine. Then a few days ago every email from both apps got dumped into my spam box (in gmail and google apps). So far the apps have just been sending emails to me and nobody else, so I know people aren't manually flagging them as spam. I did a reverse DNS lookup for my IP and the results I got were these: 100.127.75.in-addr.arpa NS DNS2.GNAX.NET. 100.127.75.in-addr.arpa NS DNS1.GNAX.NET. Should the reverse DNS lookup point to nimikri.com and hourjar.com, or are they set up fine the way they are? I noticed in the email header these 2 lines: Received: from nimikri.nimikri.com From: Hour Jar <[email protected]> Would the different domain names be causing gmail to think this is spam?     from an instance of Site with a ManyToMany relationship to Kiosk, i'd like to check if a Kiosk object is part of the relationship. I could do self.apps.get(id=app_id).exists() and check if True or self.apps.get(id=app_id) and catch the ObjectDoesNotExist error or self.apps.filter(id=app_id) and check if True If I have to catch a possible ObjectDoesNotExist error, I may as well use the second one I can do the second but doesnt seem super clean can use the third one but using filter on a unique ID seems wrong to me You can tell me to use whatever works and that'll be a valid answer ;-)

  • Facebook dialogs keep popping up in Firefox

    I have a facebook application running in a FBML canvas and I have a problem with dialogs (either extended permissions or stream publish dialogs). Once they popup, they keep popping up for every subsequent requests. I've tested it in Chrome and everything works fine. It seems that the URL is chained in Firefox, which gives cryptic long urls like : http://apps.facebook.com/webdweller-po/discover?_fb_q=1&_fb_qsub=apps.facebook.com#!/webdweller-dev/?_fb_q=1&_fb_qsub=apps.facebook.com Did anybody experienced such a bug?

    I need to do full text searching with Google App Engine. I found the project Whoosh and it works really well, as long as I use the App Engine Development Environement...   • How can I deploy an Adobe Air application including the runtime in a single file executable?

    I am using 7zsfx [Link] to package Java apps together with a JRE as a single file executable. Is it possible to do something similar with Adobe AIR apps if I get a license from Adobe to distribute the runtime? Also, does anybody have any alternative ideas for deploying Adobe Air apps with an embedded runtime? (Reason: Target computers may not have the Air runtime installed, and target users may not have permissions to download and install the runtime.)

    Is it possible to register a model in django-tagging not in tagging app, nor in my app? The standard way is to edit apps/myapp/models.py this way: from apps import tagging tagging.register(MyModel) I want to keep both applications without changes, for example, to be able to pull new versions and just replace them. So I tried putting this into project settings.py, in the end, but of course this fails. from apps.myapp.models import MyModel from apps import tagging tagging.register(MyModel) (This fails when importing MyModel.) Any other way?

  • Git + GitHub + Heroku

    Hi All, I am new to the world of Git, GitHub and Heroku. So far, I am enjoying this paradigm but coming from a background with SVN, things seems a bit complicated to me in the world of Git. I am facing a problem for which I am looking for a solution. Scenario: I have setup a new private project on GitHub. I forked the private project and now I have the following structure in my branch: /project /apps /my-apps /my-app-1 .... /my-app-2 .... /your-apps /your-app-1 .... /your-app-2 .... /plugins .... I can commit the code in my Fork on GitHub from my machine in any of the folders I want. Later on, these would be pulled into the master repository by the admin of the project. For every individual application in the apps folder, I have setup an app on Heroku which is a Git Repo in itself where I push my changes when I am done with the user stories from my local machine. In short, every app in the apps folder is a Rails App hosted on Heroku. Problem: What I want is that when I push my changes into Heroku, they can be committed into my project fork on GitHub as well, so, it also has the latest code all the time. The issue I see is that the code on Heroku is a Git Repo while the folders which I have on GitHub are part of a Repo. So far, what I have researched is that there is something known as Submodule in the Git World which can come to the rescue, however, I have not been able to find some newbie instructions.
