  • Why do I need to commit ignores under TortoiseSVN?

    When I select ignore on a files under version control it marks the parent directory as changes, then when I then do a commit, it checks in svn:ignore property to the repository, resulting in another revision. Why do I need to commit the svn:ignore property? Is this a TortoiseSVN issue or just the way SVN works?

    So i had a video that was in quicktime format, threw it into flash, encoded it without a problem and here is the result i got: http://www.healthcarepros.net/travel.html I would like the video to "loop" or "autorewind" as soon as it ends but i am having the hardest time trying to figure how to do this.   • backbone js or knockout js as a web framework with jquery mobile

    without trying to cause a mass discussion I would like some advice from the fellow users of stack overflow. I am about to start building a mobile website that gets it data from JSON that comes from a PHP rest api. I have looked into different mobile frameworks and feel that JQM will work best for us as we have the knowledge of jQuery even though a little large. Currently at work however we are using jQuery for all our sites and realise that now we are building a mobile website I need to think about javascript frameworks to move us onto a more MV* approach, which I understand the benefits of and will bring much needed structure to this mobile site and future web applications we may bring. I have made a comparision table where I have managed to bring the selection down to 2 - backbone and knockout. I have been looking around the web and it seems that there is more support for backbone in general and maybe even more support for backbone with JQM. http://jquerymobile.com/test/docs/pages/backbone-require.html One thing I have noticed however is that backbone doesnt support view bindings (declarative approach) whereas knockout does - is this a massive bonus? one of the main reasons for using a mv* for us is to get more structure - so I would like to use the library that will intergrate best with jQuery and especially jQuery mobile. neither of them seem to have that similar syntax...     I'm getting ready to start an open-source project that will target .NET/Mono. For those who have started their own open source venture... Do you let the fact that a project is going to be open-source weigh on the decision of what language to use? For example. Most .NET open-source projects are written in C#. However, if you were more comfortable with VB.NET, Boo, Nemerle, etc... would you use it? What other considerations are there? This particular project will be a core library and application for geocaching. Similar to GSAK.

  • c# ListView focus on second column

    I have a ListView with several columns, let's say column A,B,C,D in that order, sorted by column A. In long lists I could press a letter on my keyboard and scroll down to the first item in column A that begins with the letter pressed. A new column has been inserted at the beginning, yet I still want to be able to press a letter on my keyboard and scroll according to the values in column A which is now the second column. How can I set the focus back to column A without making it the first column?

  • Can Qt's QWebView display programatically generated XML?

    Using Qt 4.6, I can dynamically add to an HTML page like this: ui->webView->page()->mainFrame()->documentElement().findFirst("body").appendInside("<i>some text</i>\n"); However, if I QWebView::load() an XML file, it displays it with the correct CSS styling (from an processing instruction), but doesn't show any changes when I do something like: ui->webView->page()->mainFrame()->documentElement().findFirst("lines").appendInside("<line>hello</line>\n"); Why is it treating them differently, and is there a way to modify an XML document in the same way I can an HTML one?

    The __debug__ variable is handy in part because it affects every module. If I want to create another variable that works the same way, how would I do it? The variable (let's be original and call it 'foo') doesn't have to be truly global, in the sense that if I change foo in one module, it is updated in others. I'd be fine if I could set foo before importing other modules and then they would see the same value for it.

  • How to find multiples of the same integer in an arraylist?

    Hi My problem is as follows. I have an arraylist of integers. The arraylist contains 5 ints e.g[5,5,3,3,9] or perhaps [2,2,2,2,7]. Many of the arraylists have duplicate values and i'm unsure how to count how many of each of the values exist. The problem is how to find the duplicate values in the arraylist and count how many of that particular duplicate there are. In the first example [5,5,3,3,9] there are 2 5's and 2 3's. The second example of [2,2,2,2,7] would be only 4 2's. The resulting information i wish to find is if there are any duplicates how many of them there are and what specific integer has been duplicated. I'm not too sure how to do this in java. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

  • How do I remove an array dimension where the elements sum to zero?

    I am assigning a 3D array, which contains some information for a number of different loadcases. Each row in the array defines a particular loadcase (of which there are 3) and I would like to remove the loadcase (i.e. the row) if ALL the elements of the row (in 3D) are equal to zero. The code I have at the moment is: Array = zeros(3,5) %# Initialise array Numloadcases = 3; Array(:,:,1) = [10 10 10 10 10; 0 0 0 0 0; 0 0 0 0 0;]; %# Expand to a 3D array Array(:,:,2) = [10 10 10 10 10; 0 0 0 0 0; 0 0 0 0 0;]; Array(:,:,3) = [10 10 10 10 10; 0 0 0 0 0; 0 0 20 0 0;]; Array(:,:,4) = [10 10 10 10 10; 0 0 0 0 0; 0 0 20 0 0;]; %# And to remove the second row: for i = 1:Numloadcases if sum(Array(i,:,:)) == 0 Array(i,:,:) = []; end end At the moment, the for loop I have to remove the rows causes an indexing error, as the size of the array changes in the loop. Can anyone see a work around for this?

  • LINQ to SQL - How to efficiently do either an AND or an OR search for multiple criteria

    I have an ASP.NET MVC site (which uses Linq To Sql for the ORM) and a situation where a client wants a search facility against a bespoke database whereby they can choose to either do an 'AND' search (all criteria match) or an 'OR' search (any criteria match). The query is quite complex and long and I want to know if there is a simple way I can make it do both without having to have create and maintain two different versions of the query. For instance, the current 'AND' search looks something like this (but this is a much simplified version): private IQueryable<SampleListDto> GetSampleSearchQuery(SamplesCriteria criteria) { var results = from r in Table where (r.Id == criteria.SampleId) && (r.Status.SampleStatusId == criteria.SampleStatusId) && (r.Job.JobNumber.StartsWith(criteria.JobNumber)) && (r.Description.Contains(criteria.Description)) select r; } I could copy this and replace the && with || operators to get the 'OR' version, but feel there must be a better way of achieving this. Does anybody have any suggestions how this can be achieved in an efficient and flexible way that is easy to maintain? Thanks.

  • C# class design - expose variables for reading but not setting

    I have a a polygon class which stores a list of Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Vector2 as the vertices of the polygon. Once the polygon is created, I'd like other classes to be able to read the position of the vertices, but not change them. I am currently exposing the vertices through this field: /// <summary> /// Gets the vertices stored for this polygon. /// </summary> public List<Vector2> Vertices { get { return _vertices; } } List<Vector2> _vertices; However you can change any vertex using code like: Polygon1.Vertices[0] = new Vector2(0, 0); or Polygon1.Vertices[0].X = 0; How can I limit other classes to be able to only read the properties of these vertices, and not be able to set a new one to my List? The only thing I can think of is to pass a copy to classes that request it. Note that Vector2 is a struct that is part of the XNA framework and I cannot change it. Thanks.
