  • SVN Serve, Missing a Directory

    I'm sure this is an asinine question, and I blame myself for not fully understanding how the SVNSERVE process works. I have an SVN repo, but it needs to be moved to a server within a clients cloud. I did this a while back and ran into the issue of the SVNSERVE.exe process not getting set to the right directory. I have the SVNSERVE.exe process running as a windows service and pointing to the right directory. There are two other repos there that are serving out fine in the same directory. I copied out the new directory just like I did with the others, but I'm getting the error "No repository found". I thought that SVNSERVE just looked at that directory and served out the repositories that were there, but I have had a hard time finding more information about that. I thought it was a Windows permission problem, but I set the whole folder to be full control to EVERYONE, so that's not it. I feel horrible I didn't fully understand this problem the first time I fought it, but it's late on a Sunday night and clients are yelling. Anyone know what I'm missing? Thanks. EDIT: It's specific to the repository. I tested the same process with some of the other repos we have on our server and when I copied them up, they worked just as expected. This bug is breaking me and I wish I could provide more details, but that's all I know. I'm going to try to do an SVN Dump instead of an XCopy and see how that goes. I'll let you know.

    Having a hard time fixing this or finding any good hints about it. I'm trying to loop over one file, modify each line slightly, and then loop over a different file. If the line in the second file starts with the line from the first then the following line in the second file should be written to a third file. !/usr/bin/env python with open('ids.txt', 'rU') as f: with open('seqres.txt', 'rU') as g: for id in f: id=id.lower()[0:4]+'_'+id[4] with open(id + '.fasta', 'w') as h: for line in g: if line.startswith(''+ id): h.write(g.next()) All the correct files appear, but they are empty. Yes, I am sure the if has true cases. :-) "seqres.txt" has lines with an ID number in a certain format, each followed by a line with data. The "ids.txt" has lines with the ID numbers of interest in a different format. I want each line of data with an interesting ID number in its own file.     I would like to run a backup job on a directory tree from a bash script if any of the files have been modified in the last 30 minutes. I think I can hack together something using find with the -ctime flag, but I'm sure there is a standard way to examine a directory for changes. I know that I can inspect the ctime of the top level directory to see if files were added, but I need to be able to see changes also. FWIW, I am using duplicity to backup directories to S3.

  • firefox open local link to directory with explorer

    On a Website for our internal use i show links to local files and folders. the links are like this: href="file://C:/example/" href="file://C:/example/test.odt" The Problem is now that the link to the directory does open in firefox itself with a useless directory listing. Useless because you can just see the files or open them but not copy, insert, delete... The link to the file work normal and the file is opend by OpenOffice. By changing the configuration of firefox and setting the following key to false I can open the directory in with explorer.exe but for the file I have to choose the right application. network.protocol-handler.expose.file Does someone know a way to get both to work like i want? Means that the Directory is shown by explorer.exe and all files are opened by the right application. This can be by configuring Firefox or windows, changing the links, or even by writing a small program which opens all the file protocol correctly and will be used as protocol handler for the file protocol in firefox.     I've found that I can write (say, copy a file into) a Read-Only directory. That is, a Directory with ...Attributes = FileAttributes.ReadOnly.I can even change its name. The only thing I've found that can't be done is to delete it. Is that really the only thing that ReadOnly prevents? EDIT: Here's the code: (The Directory is empty.) (new DirectoryInfo(path)).Attributes = FileAttributes.ReadOnly; Directory.Delete(path); It throws an Access to the path 'c:\... is denied. exception. But after changing ReadOnly to Normal it works fine. So what does a ReadOnly prevent, and what doesn't it prevent?

I'm a very new python user (had only a little prior experience with html/javascript as far as programming goes), and was trying to find some ways to output only intermittent numbers in my loop for a basic bicycle racing simulation (10,000 lines of biker positions would be pretty excessive :P).     Let's say I have a class table. In the class table, there are many students with their pictures. In the first registration, I've registered the class and students with pictures. The pictures were put into a directory like classid_classname. Then, I change the class name. Now, I'm adding the student's picture. Now, the new picture can't be recognized because the class name has changed. The pic url will be set as classid_class(new)name. How can I match the first letter of the directory? Output im trying to do in a loop is: shell.sh filename<number e.g. between 1-24> <date e.g. 20100928> <number e.g. between 1-24> <id> So basically the the above will generate an output done 24 times for each particular day with a unique 4 digit id.
