  • Problems trying to use Visual Studio 2010 and AJAX extensions

    Why can I not add ScriptManager control or UpdatePanel to a page in Visual Studio 2010? The drag( or double click) just fails - it seems like there is an incompatibility somewhere? UPDATE: This is 'default' install of 2010 Ultimate on Windows7, create a web application, cannot drag ScriptManager or UpdatePanel to the designer. Typing the declarations works. The cursor changes to the [+] icon when you drag it to the right place but nothing appears to happens on 'drop', briefly the documents name has * appended, this quickly changes back to normal, either is saves or does an undo. I'm assuming something is going wrong so it undos...but what is going wrong?

  • ASP.NET MVC Html Helper Extensions and Rendering Their Required "include"s

    I have build a custom Html Helper extension as follows: public static string DatePicker(this HtmlHelper helper, string name, string value) { return string.Format(@"<script type='text/javascript'> $(document).ready(function(){{ $('#{0}').datepicker({{ changeMonth: true, changeYear:true, dateFormat: 'd-M-yy', firstDay: 1, showButtonPanel: true, showWeek: true }}); }}); </script> <input type='text' name='{0}' id='{0}' value='{1}'>", name, value); } The problem is that this now requires the page to "include" the following: <script src="/Scripts/jquery-1.4.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/Scripts/jquery.ui.datepicker.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> And a few other items. The questions are as follows: Is there a serious processing overhead if I were to include these items in EVERY page (like in the Site.Master for example) thus negating the need for the HtmlHelper to organise the "includes" - considering there would end up being about 20 includes for all the different types of jQuery UI widgets used throughout the site. If the HtmlHelper sorts out the "includes", it will add one every time this DatePicker is used (often there are two on a page) Does anyone have a way of determining whether or not the user has already rendered the same type of control on the page, thus not re-including the same jquery libraries when multiple instances of the DatePicker (for example) are used?

  • How to make Python Extensions for Windows for absolute beginners

    Hello: I've been looking around the internet trying to find a good step by step guide to extend Python in Windows, and I haven't been able to find something for my skill level. let's say you have some c code that looks like this: #include <stdio.h> #include <math.h> double valuex(float value, double rate, double timex) { float value; double rate, timex; return value / double pow ((1 + rate), (timex)); } and you want to turn that into a Python 3 module for use on a windows (64bit if that makes a difference) system. How would you go about doing that? I've looked up SWIG and Pyrex and in both circumstances they seem geared towards the unix user. With Pyrex I am not sure if it works with Python 3. I'm just trying to learn the basics of programing, using some practical examples. Lastly, if there is a good book that someone can recommend for learning to extend, I would greatly appreciate it.     I would like to create a simple .MAP file listing addresses and symbol names from a PDB file. My natural inclination was to look for a tool named "pdb2map", but most of the results I get for that appear to refer to a sample program from the CD included with Debugging Applications for Microsoft .NET and Microsoft Windows, which unfortunately is not also posted on the 'net. Anyone know a good tool for this? Thanks.

    I've added php as a module for Apache 2.2.11: LoadModule php5_module "c:/php/php5apache2_2.dll" And also added AddType application/x-httpd-php .php And in PHP.ini, my extension dir is set to: extension_dir = "C:\php\ext" And yes, the directories are correct and all files do exist.     I've found a PPM image with the header starting with PF. The resolution number is stored in floating point (-1.000). No comments are inserted to get how it was produced. From the resolution, each pixel is composed by 12 bytes (4 bytes per component)... I suppose they are float or integer numbers. The problem is that I cannot get a clear image. Someone has already found this kind of images?

    Hi, I have a website and my users can browse the website for general information. If user wants to post any data, they need to register in the website. At the time of registration (in registration form) they can upload their photo. Once registration process is completed they can even modify the previously uploaded photo. My users are facing problem while they uploading their photo at the time of registration. I have given write permission to uploading files folder. But it is giving "Access denied" error. There should be a provision to upload files with or without logging into application. How can we achieve this?

I have a text file with a list of about 50k telephone numbers, and want to write a stored procedure that will open the file, read the 50k lines and store it as rows in a table. I cannot load the file directly using LOAD IN FILE as the table has additional columns that I have to set. Thanks!

    I've been doing this all the time: result = subprocess.call(['copy', '123*.xml', 'out_folder\\.', '/y']) if result == 0: do_something() else: do_something_else() Until today I started to look into pywin32 modules, then I saw functions like win32file.CopyFiles(), but then I found it may not support copying files to a directory. Maybe this functionality is hidden somewhere, but I haven't found it yet. I've also tried "glob" and "shutil" combination, but "glob" is incredibly slow if there are many files. So, how do you emulate this Windows command with Python? copy 123*.xml out_folder\. /y

I'm using Reminder fifteenMinReminder = new Reminder(); fifteenMinReminder.Minutes = 15; fifteenMinReminder.Method = Reminder.ReminderMethod.email; entry.Reminders.Add(fifteenMinReminder); on a brand new entry (where Reminder and Reminders are Nothing), but I cannot add a reminder using the above code (taken straight from the Google Docs), or set the entry.Reminder to fifteenMinReminder directly either. What am I doing wrong? I've had no trouble .adding When and Where's to the entry, but the Reminder doesn't want to follow the same pattern. Any ideas?

I can make the toolbar appear, but then it should become hidden when I open or switch to a new tab, or close the tab with that specific page.   • Safari extensions: style of selectbox like safari's bookmark folders

    Hey guys, I'm developing an extension for Safari 5 at the moment. In my extension, I use an additional toolbar, with selectboxes in it. Now, it would be great to style these like the folders in the bookmarks toolbar look. I know that it would be possible to replace my select with a completely styleable ul-list or somethin like that, but maybe there is a simpler solution.     Hi All. First question here on superuser. I sometimes get ad-hoc bug reports from customers, which I need to transfer to our online bug tracker. Works fine for text, but pictures are tedious. I'm looking for a solution to copy-paste images from documents (like excel sheets) in a way that if you paste an image to a file input (or text input) on a html page, the file will automatically be written to disk (tmp dir), and the path written to the file input field. This question is related to Directly paste clipboard image into gmail message, but I would like to ask if there is a solution using a local program only. I'm interested in solutions for all OS's.

    The reason I asked this question is that I wanted to create a helper class for Remoting instantiation, and wanted to pass the appropriate app.exe.config (or web.config) file path to the RemotingConfiguration.Configure method, depending on the caller. Is there a way I could get the name of the config file for both Win and Web apps without checking if the application is Web or WinForms?
