• Use quicksilver to tell itunes to stop

At the moment I just know how to "call it" (CMD+I in my case) and open an app. I wonder how could I do, once itunes is running, just to tell to stop playing a song, using QS, and if not, someother workaround, just using Keyboard, in the simplest possible wy. • How to update OSX when space is tight?

  Software Update has notified me of a new OSX system update (including the Mac App Store). It claims to be about 1.6GB in size. I have 4.6GB of free space on my hard drive. However, when I attempt to actually run the update, it fails because it claims to need 6.9GB of free space. Is there any particular reason Software Update needs so much space beyond the downloaded file size and are there any work arounds? Thanks.

• picasa web albums poor image quality?

  Did anyone else notice the picture quality degrade after uploading to picasa web albums from Picasa 3.5 Mac? I uploaded them in the original setting which is 1600 by 1200 and did selected the option to not compress jpg quality. On picasa web albums however, I notice that the colors look faded and the picture are a bit grainy. Anyone have the same problems? Any alternatives to an album sharing site with easy upload from picasa or iphoto?

I am trying to connect a new workstation to our wireless multifunction printer and I'm having a hell of a time getting the device to spit out an IP for me to connect to.   My Macbook Pro already dual boots MacOSX or Ubuntu with ReFit. I would like to add Windows 7 in the mix. I can make enough space in the Mac partition to accomodate that, but just want to be sure the Windows installation is not going to wipe out anything and I will still be able to access both OS. Anything else to watch out for is welcome. (Sorry for not posting a question about an actual problem, but I figured that when I have a problem, it will just be too late).

• Smartphone Emulator for checking emails are readable

  Is there an emulator that would enable me to test the appearance of an email as it is being read on a smartphone (without specifying the phone type)? What I would like to be able to do, is to send an email to this emulator, and then scroll down through the email using the emulator. Ive searched online, and any emulators I found are for testing software rather than exploring the visual appearance of email. I'm using Mac OSX - thanks in advance.

  I have created a 3-fold brochure in Mac iWork - Pages. If I print the brochure then I can 3-fold it and everything is fine. But if I want to export as PDF then I get a 2-A4 size pages, and this distorts the user the order of the pages, I would like to export each layout as a separate page. • GIMP: Slightly wrong color when saving images

  When I create a new image, fill it with a single color, and save it as *.png or *.jpeg, it gets a slightly wrong color. When I save it as *.gif, the color is correct. Does this have something to do with a color profile? How can I turn it off? (Gimp 2.6.7 on Mac) BTW, when I use "Digital Color Meter" to check the color in the GIMP window, I also get a wrong value - but that value is again a little bit different.

  Hi I need to control a Windows 7 PC via VNC from a Mac in an office LAN. Since the IPs are dynamically assigned, I'd like the PC to appear in my "Places" and in the automatically detected nearby servers in VNC client I'm using -- both of which require the PC to advertise its VNC server via Samba (right?). I tried installing ultravnc, which works when I access it directly by IP, but it doesn't seem to advertise itself in the network. Any ideas?

• Audio problems with Windows 7 running through Bootcamp

  I've been using (and enjoy using) Windows 7 through bootcamp on my mac for some time now. The only problem I've been having is with the audio, I seem to get a low hissing noise which is more prevalent when wearing headphones. Whilst it's not stopping me from using Windows 7 it's something I'd like fixed. I've tried downloading the latest drivers from Realteks website, but to no avail. Any suggestions?
