• Eclipselink update existing tables

  Maybe I got it wrong but i though that JPA was able to update an existing table (model changed adding a column) but is not working in my case. I can see in the logs eclipselink attempting to create it but failing because it already exists. Instead of trying an update to add the column it keeps going. • Facebook og:url ignored in favour of a Facebook hosted page about the og entity

  I am trying to implement the Like button on my pages. Those pages represent the review page for a product. When a user Likes the page, it shows up in Facebook (not as a link, but as liking an entity), however when you click on the entity in Facebook it links through to a facebook.com hosted page representing the page. I want the user to be redirected to the og:url page? This happens for example when you Like an artist page on Grroveshar: http://grooveshark.com/#!/artist/Elbow/4795 I am clearly "doing it wrong". I am using the following markup to include the SDK. The problem is that I also want the ListBoxItem to be selected when one of its TextBox's child gets focused. To achieve this I add a trigger that sets IsSelected to true when IsKeyboardFocusWithin is true: <Trigger Property="IsKeyboardFocusWithin" Value="True"> <Setter Property="IsSelected" Value="True" /> </Trigger> When I add this trigger the Item is selected when the focus is on a child TextBox, but the first behaviour disappears. • Many to many table design question

  Originally I had 2 tables in my DB, [Property] and [Employee]. Each employee can have 1 "Home Property" so the employee table has a HomePropertyID FK field to Property. Later I needed to model the situation where despite having only 1 "Home Property" the employee did work at or cover for multiple properties. So I created an [Employee2Property] table that has EmployeeID and PropertyID FK fields to model this many 2 many relationship. Now I find that I need to create other many-to-many relationships between employees and properties. For example if there are multiple employees that are managers for a property or multiple employees that perform maintenance work at a property, etc. My questions are: 1) Should I create seperate many-to-many tables for each of these situations or should I just create 1 more table like [PropertyAssociatonType] that lists the types of associations an emploee can have with a property and just add a FK field to [Employee2Property] such a PropertyAssociationTypeID that explains what the association is? I'm curious about the pros/cons or if there's another better way. 2) Am I stupid and going about this all worng? Thanks for any suggestions :)

• Facebook like button issue.

  Hello community, We're having some trouble getting our like button to work. It seemed to work last week but suddenly it's stopped working. Basically when clicking "Like", we get an error saying: You failed to provide a valid list of administators. You need to supply the administors using either a "fb:app_id" meta tag, or using a "fb:admins" meta tag to specify a comma-delimited list of Facebook users. • PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer vs Filters -- Spring Beans

  Hi there. I've got a question regarding the difference between PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer (org.springframework.beans.factory.config.PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer) and normal filters defined in my pom.xml. I've been looking at examples, and it seems that even though filters are defined and marked to be active by default in the pom.xml they still make use of PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer in Spring's applicationContext.xml. This means that the pom.xml has a reference to a filter-LOCAL.properties while applicationContext.xml has a reference to application.properties and they both contain the same settings. Why is that? Is that how it is supposed to be done? I'm able to run the goal mvn jetty:run without the application.properties present, but if I add settings to the application.properties that differ from the filter-LOCAL.properties they don't seem to override. • How to use Nhibernate Validator + NHib component + ddl

  I just configured my NHibValidator. My NHibernate creates the DB schema. When I set MaxLenght="20" to some property of a class then in the database the length appears in the database column. I am doing this in the NHibValidator xml file. But the problem is that I have components and cannot figure out how to achieve this behaviour. The component is configured correctly in the Customer.hbm.xml file. • Incorrect component when querying immediately after insert using NHibernate

  I have the following mapping for my table in MySql: <class name="Tag, namespace" table="tags" > <id name="id" type="Int32" unsaved-value="0"> <generator class="native"></generator> </id> <property name="name" type="String" not-null="true"></property> <component name="record_dates" class="DateMetaData, namespace" > <property name="created_at" type="DateTime" not-null="true"></property> <property name="updated_at" type="DateTime" not-null="true"></property> </component> </class> As you see the record_dates property is defined as a component field of type DateMetaDate. Both created_at and updated_at fields in 'tags' table are updated via triggers. Thus I can insert a new record like such: var newTag = new Tag() { name = "some string here" } Int32 id = (Int32)Session.Save(tag); Session.Flush(); ITag t = Session.Get<Tag>(id); ViewData["xxx"] = t.name; // -----> not null ViewData["xxx"] = t.record_dates.created_at; // -----> is null However when querying the same record back immediately after it was inserted the record_dates field ends up null even though in the table those fields have got values. Can any one please point out why the Session.Get ignores getting everything back from the table? is it because it caches the newly created record for which the records_dates is null? If so how can it be told to ignore the cached version?

• WPF binding to a boolean on a control

  I'm wondering if someone has a simple succinct solution to binding to a dependency property that needs to be the converse of the property. Here's an example I have a textbox that is disabled based on a property in the datacontext e.g.: <TextBox IsEnabled={Binding CanEdit} Text={Binding MyText}/> The requirement changes and I want to make it ReadOnly instead of disabled, so without changing my ViewModel I could do this: In the UserControl resources: <UserControl.Resources> <m:NotConverter x:Key="NotConverter"/> </UserControl.Resources> And then change the TextBox to: <TextBox IsReadOnly={Binding CanEdit,Converter={StaticResource NotConverter}} Text={Binding MyText}/> Which I personally think is EXTREMELY verbose I would love to be able to just do this(notice the !): <TextBox IsReadOnly={Binding !CanEdit} Text={Binding MyText}/> But alas, that is not an option that I know of. I can think of two options. Create an attached property IsNotReadOnly to FrameworkElement(?) and bind to that property If I change my ViewModel then I could add a property CanEdit and another CannotEdit which I would be kind of embarrassed of because I believe it adds an irrelevant property to a class, which I don't think is a good practice. The main reason for the question is that in my project the above isn't just for one control, so trying to keep my project as DRY as possible and readable I am throwing this out to anyone feeling my pain and has come up with a solution :)

  I'm switching from MockStrutsTestCase to Mockrunner and I'm finding that having to manually re-create all of my DynaActionForms in Mockrunner is a pain...there has to be an easier way?! Can somebody offer a tip to simplify this process?   I wonder how to configure Quartz scheduled job threads to reflect proper encoding. Code which otherwise executes fine within Springframework injection loaded webapps (java) will get encoding issues when run in threads scheduled by quartz. Is there anyone who can help me out? All source is compiled using maven2 with source and file encodings configured as UTF-8.   Hi, I have the following problem: the application is using the custom itemscontrol called ToolBox. The elements of a toolbox are called toolboxitems and are custom contentcontrol. Now, the toolbox stores a number of images that are retrieved from a database and displayed. For that I use a datatemplate inside the toolbox control. However, when I try to drag and drop the elements, I don't get the image object but the database component.
