• SSL, CNAME, and multiple domains

  Say I have an SSL Certificate for a super cool site that I offer, like https://secure.coolsite.com/ (Not my site, just an example). Then lets say I had a customer who wanted to have a CNAME to my site on his server, like https://mycoolsite.his-site.com/ Would he need a regular SSL certificate on his end, would I need to have a second certificate on my end (And just "install" it on my webserver), or would I need a multi-domain SSL certificate, or he just has to list my site as an alias on his certificate?   Hi, I am creating a cookie in a jsp script, which is located at: www.myproject.com/login/index.jsp if I restart the browser and navigate there, all works well, I can see the cookie persist. If I navigate to: www.myproject.com I am not seeing the cookie. Do I need to set something in the cookie path or domain to make the cookie visible to the entire [myproject.com] domain (I just want to access the cookie from whatever sub path the user may be on). Is there a way we can export a specific page for a customer without giving them access to the entire wiki (which is currently behind a PAM-based authentication). • Using PHP to grab the absolute URL of the script?

  Basically, I want my script to output its absolute URL, but I don't want to statically program it into the script. For example, if my current URL is http://example.com/script.php I want to be able to store it as a variable, or echo it. i.e. $url = http://example.com/script.php; But if I move the script to a different server/domain, I want it to automatically adjust to that, i.e. $url = http://example2.com/newscript.php; But I have no idea how to go about doing this. Any ideas?

  I have a server with fqdn git.mydomain.com (this is in DNS) but I don't really want the machine to have git as its hostname. Right now I have the hostname in /etc/hostname set as (for example): mycustomhostname And in /etc/hosts I have 1.2.3.4 git.mydomain.com mycustomhostname (Where 1.2.3.4 is my server's IP) I've read that the first component of the FQDN should always be the unqualified hostname, so is what I'm doing bad? If so, what is the correct way to do what I want?

  We are using the old urchin.js and are tracking 2 subdomains under the same profile. We have a “track subdomains” advanced filter defined (as per http://www.google.com/support/googleanalytics/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=55524) as well as 2 segments for presenting data in the reports: hostname matches exactly subdomain1.domain-name.com and hostname matches exactly subdomain2.domain-name.com When I apply these segments to our Top Content Overview report, the All Visits total for PageViews does not correspond to the # of visits reported for each subdomain. For example: All Visits = 53 subdomain1 = 24 subdomain2 = 32 Is there any reason as to why we would be seeing this discrepancy in numbers?

  I'm building a site with a hashchange on wordpress, all working good. It just loads a single.php template file into a div. The problem is that i can still access my single url (http://www.mydomain.com/my-single-post). Since its not having any head and style tags with it, i don't want people to go over there. Also google has picked up the direct links, because I use the href attribute to load content into the div. So my question is: If someone clicks a link lets say in a forum, http://www.mydomain.com/my-single-post , is it possible to redirect him instantly to http://www.mydomain.com/#my-single-post ? I have researched that it has something to do with .htaccess, but I also have Pages, where i don't want the hash infront of the page-name.

I want to make a new route, which is: http://example.com/foo/bar/123 but as long as I open it, the Apache redirects me to an error page. So I'm using a .htaccess. The code is: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*) /index.php [L] and it works, as long as I use http://example.com/foo, but once I add some other parameters, it redirects me to an error. I'm guessing that the rewrite code is wrong. Is it wrong? If yes, could you suggest me the good one? If no, where the problem could be located?

The question is, what happens if nothing is assigned to the return value of the new Image() constructor - in that case I can actually skip the 'new' keyword as in loadImgA1()? Does the object then live outside the function or somehow affects memory usage? Other implications, differences? I reckon not, as no real instance was actually created? To put this into perspective, I only need to get the http request for image through. No preloading or other advanced image manipulation. What would be the preferred method from the above?

  The short version Why is this code: var index = (Math.floor(y / scale) * img.width + Math.floor(x / scale)) * 4; More performant than this one? var index = Math.floor(ref_index) * 4; The long version This week, the author of Impact js published an article about some rendering issue: http://www.phoboslab.org/log/2012/09/drawing-pixels-is-hard In the article there was the source of a function to scale an image by accessing pixels in the canvas. I wanted to suggest some traditional ways to optimize this kind of code so that the scaling would be shorter at loading time. But after testing it my result was most of the time worst that the original function. Guessing this was the JavaScript engine that was doing some smart optimization I tried to understand a bit more what was going on so I did a bunch of test. But my results are quite confusing and I would need some help to understand what's going on. And to my surprise the optimized version is slower in most browsers (except opera). Results of personal testing (not the jsPerf tests): Opera Original: 8668ms Optimized: 932ms Hybrid: 8696ms Chrome Original: 139ms Optimized: 145ms Hybrid: 136ms Safari Original: 433ms Optimized: 853ms Hybrid: 451ms Firefox Original: 343ms Optimized: 422ms Hybrid: 350ms After digging around, it seems an usual good practice is to access mainly local variable due to the scope lookup. Because The optimized version only call one local variable it should be faster that the Hybrid code which call multiple variable and object in addition to the various operation involved. So why the "optimized" version is slower? I thought that it might be because some JavaScript engine don't optimize the Optimized version because it is not hot enough but after using --trace-opt in chrome, it seems all version are properly compiled by V8. • Ubuntu boot hangs on "Attached scsi removable disk"

  My Ubuntu hangs at boot with message "Attached scsi removable disk". When I boot with param acpi=off, system boots fine. I'm booting from harddrive, not from usb device. I managed to locate source of this problem to the external card reader & usb hub, into which I have connected external keyboard and mouse. If i disconnect it (whole card reader & usb hub), system boots fine. Could you suggest any way to boot successfully without adding acpi=off or disconnecting hub&reader before booting?
