  Just taking a simple example. We have a question on stackoverflow and while posting a question we want to validate title_of_question, description_of_question that they should be present. Now we have a another model tag having habtm relationshio with question model. How to validate that while saving the question. • Is `eval`ing in a CPAN module without localizing $@ a bug?

  I think I've encountered a bug in Params::Validate, but I'm not sure whether I identified the problematic code piece correctly. The code in question failed to pass exceptions up the chain (using Try::Tiny), so I started debugging and found out that a class used inside the try block has a destructor. This destructor calls object methods which use Params::Validate and looking into Validate.pm source I see an eval without $@ localization, i.e. the global $@ gets overwritten. Now I see two options: Params::Validate should always localize $@ and thus it's a bug that should be reported. The bug is in the class in question, because it shouldn't use Params::Validate in a destructor. Params::Validate can stay as it is now. Which one is it? How I should I handle this situation? PS: I think that CPAN modules should be rock-solid and neither break themselves nor their environment, hence the question title.

  I am trying to wrap a c++ class (let's call it "Spam") written by someone else with swig to expose it to Python. After solving several problems, I am able to import the module in python, but when I try to create an object of such class I obtain the following error: foo = Spam.Spam('abc',3) Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> File "Spam.py", line 96, in __init__ this = _Spam.new_Spam(*args) NotImplementedError: Wrong number of arguments for overloaded function 'new_Spam'.   I have a std::multiset which stores elements of class A. I have provided my own implementation of operator< for this class. My question is if I insert two equivalent objects into this multiset is their order guaranteed? For example, first I insert a object a1 into the set and then I insert an equivalent object a2 into this set. Can I expect the a1 to come before a2 when I iterate through the set? If no, is there any way to achieve this using multiset?

• Xcode automatically converts the object to NSArray

  I have been working on an app and during the development, I am facing a very strange problem. I have a NSMutableArray tempSortedArray, which is full of objects of Store types. All the objects are valid as I can see them in my GUI, the problem arises when I iterate through the array, at index 90, which can be generally anyone, the XCode converts the Store object to NSMutableArray object. Any idea, why this is happening. There are many threads iterating this loop and based on the key they are looking for, a lazy instance is created and returned. lazyObject should not be created more that one time. Although Lazy class is for doing so and despite of the used lock, under high threading I have more than one instance created (I track this with a Interlocked.Increment on a volatile shared int and log it somewhere). The problem is I don't have access to definition of Lazy and MEF defines how the Lazy class create objects. My questions: 1) Why the lock doesn't work ? 2) Should I use an array of locks instead of one lock for performance improvement ?

At first I was thinking, it registers it's instances to keep track of them, but regular constructors could do the same thing through the use of private static variables. For example see below... <div class="show-menu one">open menu</div> // this is element one <div class="show-menu two">open menu</div> // this is element two I need it so, if element one get's click first, you can close the menu using element two on the first click. What is happening now is that you have to click element two twice in order for it to close the menu - vice versa I guess this is the toggle coming into play, any help would be great thanks. So the object is ready to be used when the corresponding application is launched. Alternatively, for classes that have not been handled by Interface Builder, code such as the "new" statements have to be written in xcode explicitly in order for the associated objects to be created and used. • superfish dropdowns to be columned when there's many children and no "grandchildren" nodes

  i have a horizontal nav menu that's using jquery superfish. in one of my dropdown menus there'll be no more dropdowns within it (i.e. no grandchildren nodes.) but there are several children. 45 to be exact right now and it may go up or down in time. i'm trying to find a way to have the dropdown be columned passed a certain count. 15 works for me nicely since there are 45. so without showing all the includes here's the html list - and for the sake of less code i'll use 15: <ul class="sf-menu sf-js-enabled sf-shadow" id="menu-1"> <li class="current"> <a href="#a" class="sf-with-ul">menu item<span class="sf-sub-indicator"> »</span></a> <ul style="display: none; visibility: hidden;"> <li> <a href="#aa">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ab">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ac">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ac">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ad">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#aa">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ab">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ac">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ac">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ad">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#aa">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ab">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ac">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ac">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ad">menu item</a> </li> </ul> </li> <li> <a href="#">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#">menu item</a> </li> </ul> so if i wanted the columns to start at 5 i'd have exactly 3 columns. i can't seem to figure out how i can accomplish this and not break everything. i've tried using some css and came up with no solutions. any thoughts are greatly appreciated... O_o
