  • struts2 validate

    - by teehoo
    In Struts2 you can change the method used for execution for an action by changing the method attribute in the following line: <action name="registerVal" class="cz.vutbr.fit.pishotel.model.action.Register" method="execute"> Is it possible to change the validation method used as well, or is the validate method name hardcoded.

  • Check if BigInteger is not a perfect square

    - by Ender
    I have a BigInteger value, let's say it is 282 and is inside the variable x. I now want to write a while loop that states: while b2 isn't a perfect square: a ? a + 1 b2 ? a*a - N endwhile How would I do such a thing using BigInteger? EDIT: The purpose for this is so I can write this method. As the article states one must check if b2 is not square.

  • Hibernate: Check if object exists/changed

    - by swalkner
    Assuming I have an object Person with long id String firstName String lastName String address Then I'm generating a Person-object somewhere in my application. Now I'd like to check if the person exists in the database (= firstname/lastname-combination is in the database). If not = insert it. If yes, check, if the address is the same. If not = update the address. Of course, I can do some requests (first, try to load object with firstname/lastname), then (if existing), compare the address. But isn't there a simpler, cleaner approach? If got several different classes and do not like to have so many queries. I'd like to use annotations as if to say: firstname/lastname = they're the primary key. Check for them if the object exists. address is the parameter you have to compare if it stayed the same or not. Does Hibernate/JPA (or another framework) support something like that? pseude-code: if (database.containsObject(person)) { //containing according to compound keys if (database.containsChangedObject(person)) { database.updateObject(person); } } else { database.insertObject(person); }

  • Accessing the value of a Richfaces calendar during validation.

    - by JBristow
    I am trying to validate a field based on another field's value. <h:form id="item"> <s:validateAll/> <h:selectBooleanCheckbox id="selected" value="#{bean.selected}" validator="selectedValidator"/> <rich:calendar id="startDate" value="#{bean.startDate}"/> </h:form> However, inside my validator. public void validate(FacesContext context, UIComponent component, Object value) throws ValidatorException { UIInput startComp = (UIInput) context.getViewRoot().findComponent("item:startDate"); if(value != null && value) { // Check value of startComp and throw exception if null or empty. } } The component startComp resolves, but has no value. Where is the value that appears in the text box of the richfaces calendar component?

  • Locating multiple nested If statements using regular expressions

    - by TERACytE
    Is there a way to search for multiple nested if statements in code using a regular expression? For example, an expression that would locate an instance of if statements three or more layers deep with different styles (if, if/else, if/elseif/else): if (...) { <code> if (...) { <code> if (...) <code> } else if (...) { <code> } else { <code> } } else { <code> }

  • JSON Web Service over simple HTTP GET/POST

    - by whoi
    Hi; Can you suggest a way or a framework or etc. for JEE in order to make simple HTTP GET/POST calls to some web services like in SOAP web services but transport format must be JSON; not XML and there must not be any wrapper around(may be some vey lightweight header) like SOAP etc. In short, my purpose is to serve web services using JSON and HTTP Get/Post in a maximum possible lightweight solution. Thanks

  • GAE/J: unable to register a custom ELResolver

    - by dfa
    I need to register a custom ELResolver for a Google App Engine project. Since it must be registered before any request is received, as specified by the Javadoc: It is illegal to register an ELResolver after the application has received any request from the client. If an attempt is made to register an ELResolver after that time, an IllegalStateException is thrown. I'm using a ServletContextListener: public class RegisterCustomELResolver implements ServletContextListener { @Override public void contextInitialized(ServletContextEvent sce) { ServletContext context = sce.getServletContext(); JspApplicationContext jspContext = JspFactory.getDefaultFactory().getJspApplicationContext(context); jspContext.addELResolver(new MyELResolver()); } ... } The problem is that JspFactory.getDefaultFactory() returns always null. I've alreay filled a bug report. Any idea for a workaround?

    - by user3682017
    I have a listview that is populated by an arraylist of classes. public void populateThingsList(){ listExample.add(new Example("Example name", 1, "Example detail 1", "Example detail 2", R.drawable.1_icon, "Example detail 3")); listExample.add(new Example("Example name1", 2, "Example detail 1", "Example detail 2", R.drawable.2_icon, "Example detail 3")); listExample.add(new Example("Example name2", 3, "Example detail 1", "Example detail 2", R.drawable.3_icon, "Example detail 3")); listExample.add(new Example("Example name3", 4, "Example detail 1", "Example detail 2", R.drawable.4_icon, "Example detail 3")); listExample.add(new Example("Example name4", 5, "Example detail 1", "Example detail 2", R.drawable.5_icon, "Example detail 3")); listExample.add(new Example("Example name5", 6, "Example detail 1", "Example detail 2", R.drawable.6_icon, "Example detail 3")); listExample.add(new Example("Example name6", 7, "Example detail 1", "Example detail 2", R.drawable.7_icon, "Example detail 3")); listExample.add(new Example("Example name7", 8, "Example detail 1", "Example detail 2", R.drawable.8_icon, "Example detail 3")); listExample.add(new Example("Example name8", 9, "Example detail 1", "Example detail 2", R.drawable.9_icon, "Example detail 3")); listExample.add(new Example("Example name9", 10, "Example detail 1", "Example detail 2", R.drawable.10_icon, "Example detail 3")); } This is the code for the clicklistener. ListView list = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.exampleListView); list.setOnItemClickListener(new AdapterView.OnItemClickListener() { @Override public void onItemClick(AdapterView<?> parent, View view, int position, long id) { Example clickedexample = listExample.get(position); startActivity(new Intent("com.example.app.EXAMPLEACTIVITY")); } } Is there any way I can get the information from clickedExample and set the textViews and imageView in ExampleActivity depending on which one was clicked?

  • Android Lightweight HTML Template Engine

    - by Anthoni Gardner
    Hello, I am after a very lightweight template engine that supports / can be embedded inside Android programs. I've looked at the MiniTemplator (I think that is how you spell it) and that looks great but it loads in only from file and I need to load templates from string and I am not fully confident in changing that code lol. Can anyone recommend a very lightweight (preferably no jars, single source files etc) that I can use ? I do not need it to parse XML or anything like, just normal HTML files with keywords embedded into them betwee %% tags etc. Regards Anthoni

  • How do I write JPA QL statements that hints to the runtime to use the DEFAULT value ?

    - by Jacques René Mesrine
    I have a table like so: mysql> show create table foo; CREATE TABLE foo ( network bigint NOT NULL, activeDate datetime NULL default '0000-00-00 00:00:00', ... ) In the domain object, FooVO the activeDate member is annotated as Temporal. If I don't set activeDate to a valid Date instance, a new record is inserted with NULLs. I want the default value to take effect if I don't set the activeDate member. Thanks.

  • Android Broadcast Address

    - by Eef
    Hey, I am making a Client Server application for my Android phone. I have created a UDP Server in Python which sits and listens for connections. I can put either the server IP address in directly like 192.169.0.100 and it sends data fine. I can also put in 192.168.0.255 and it find the server on 192.169.0.100. Is it possible to get the broadcast address of the network my Android phone is connected to? I am only ever going to use this application on my Wifi network or other Wifi networks. Cheers

  • ivy dependency on external JAR

    - by Misha Koshelev
    Dear All: I am battling with Ivy (I tried maven but had an event more difficult time setting up the JBoss repository for Hibernate). Quick question - I am using this wonderful package: http://ooweb.sourceforge.net/index.html Unfortunately, the JAR is only available through Sourceforge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/ooweb/files/ooweb/0.8.0/ooweb-0.8.0-bin.tar.gz/download Is there a way to get Ivy to download a specific JAR? For that matter, is it possible to do with Maven? Thank you! Misha

  • How to get equivalent of ResultSetMetaData without ResultSet

    - by javanix
    Hey Guys - I need to resolve a bunch of column names to column indexes (so as to use some of the nice ResultSetMetaData methods). However, the only way that I know how to get a ResultSetMetaData object is by calling getMetaData() on some ResultSet. The problem I have with that is that grabbing a ResultSet takes up uneccesary resources in my mind - I don't really need to query the data in the table, I just want some information about the table. Does anyone know of any way to get a RSMD object without getting a ResultSet (from a potentially huge table) first? Thanks!

  • Using injected EntityManager in class hierarchies

    - by Emre Sahin
    The following code works: @Stateless @LocalBean public class MyClass { @PersistenceContext(name = "MyPU") EntityManager em; public void myBusinessMethod(MyEntity e) { em.persist(e); } } But the following hierarchy gives a TransactionRequiredException in Glassfish 3.0 (and standard JPA annotations with EclipseLink.) at the line of persist. @Stateless @LocalBean public class MyClass extends MyBaseClass { public void myBusinessMethod(MyEntity e) { super.update(e); } } public abstract class MyBaseClass { @PersistenceContext(name = "MyPU") EntityManager em; public void update(Object e) { em.persist(e); } } For my EJB's I collected common code in an abstract class for cleaner code. (update also saves who did the operation and when, all my entities implement an interface.) This problem is not fatal, I can simply copy update and sister methods to subclasses but I would like to keep all of them together in a single place. I didn't try but this may be because my base class is abstract, but I would like to learn a proper method for such a (IMHO common) use case.

  • What is the difference between connection and read timeout for sockets?

    - by corgrath
    3 questions: 1) What is the difference between connection and read timeout for sockets? 2) What does connection timeout set to "infinity" mean? In what situation can it remain in an infinitive loop? and what can trigger that the infinity-loop dies? 3) What does read timeout set to "infinity" mean? In what situation can it remain in an infinitive loop? and what can trigger that the infinity-loop dies?

  • How can I disable all images for an JFace menu but leave them enabled in the toolbar

    - by David
    If I create a set of actions to be used in a JFace application and I assign images to those actions, those images show up in both the toolbar (where I want them) and in the menus (where I don't want them). Other than supplying two completely separate sets of actions (which eliminates part of the point of actions in the first place), how can I arrange to have those images displayed ONLY in the toolbar, and have the menus display only text?

  • RichFaces a4j:support parameter passing

    - by Mark Lewis
    Hello I have a number of rich:inplaceInput tags in RichFaces which represent numbers in an array. The validator allows integers only. When a user clicks in an input and changes a value, how can I get the bean to sort the array given the new number and reRender the list of rich:inplaceInput tags so that they're in numerical order? EG <a4j:region> <rich:dataTable value="#{MyBacking.config}" var="feed" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%" border="0" columns="5" id="Admin"> ... <a4j:repeat... <a4j:region id="MsgCon"> <rich:inplaceInput value="#{h.id}" validator="#{MyBacking.validateID}" id="andID" showControls="true"> <a4j:support event="onviewactivated" action="#{MyBacking.sort}" reRender="Admin" /> </rich:inplaceInput> </a4j:region> </a4j:repeat> </data:Table> </a4j:region> Note I do NOT want to use dataTable sort functions. The table is complicated and I've specified id="Admin" (ie the whole table) to reRender as I've not found a way to send more localised values to the backing bean through the inplaceInput. This question is about how to use a4j:support action attribute to call the sort method so that when the reRender rerenders the component, it outputs the list in sorted order. I have the sort method working ok when I click a button to sort, but I want to have the list sorted automatically as soon as a new valid value is entered into the inplaceInput component. Thanks

  • how to detect an IMAPMessage is not an email but a Task or Calendar item

    - by raticulin
    I am accessing Lotus and Groupwise using javamail via IMAP, recursively accessing all folders and processing email I find. But in folders like Tasklist and Calendar (those are from Groupwise but I think I remember Lotus had similar things), I get the items in there as instances of IMAPMessage, and so they are processed as if they were mail. I understand those items get exposed as mail through the IMAP protocol (either by design or by mistake), but I only want to process proper mail. Is there a way to do this? I have dismissed following approaches so far: Make sure the message has a message-id, at least in Groupwise Calendar items have it. Ignore folders by name (such as Calendar and Tasklist): is not totally correct as a user can move mail inside those folders. What I am looking is some IMAP api call I have missed so far or something in those lines...
