• Remote additional domain controllers

  Is it possible to setup several additional domain controllers (ADC) at remote locations that are connected via medium bandwidth DSL (2-10 Mbit) WAN connections for a single domain (intranet.example.com)? And would it be a good idea? We have five sites and would like to have extremely high availability if any of the site were to lose their Internet connection. However each site is very small, and all are over a fairly small geographical area within the same region, so it would seem strange to have a PDC for each of the sites. If it were possible to have an ADC for each site, would the clients use the ADC or just use the PDC if it's available to them?

• SharePoint 3.0 Search Stuck Starting

  I have a single server running SharePoint 3.0 on WS2003 Sp2 not on a domain. My search service stopped working so I just went in to central admin and hit stop, then hit start. I soon found out this is not the way to do this process. I now can not get the search service to start again. I have tried everything I can think of, and nothing works it changes status to Starting but never gets to started. I have to go in with "stsadm -o spsearch -action stop" from the command prompt to stop it. I am using the Local service account for the service and the content accounts. Can anyone help me?

  If we give the anti-virus a URL it should be able to scan it and give us a report, Else, it should be able to scan the folder that we put all the links into... i.e. if we download the entire content of the webpage from the 10 Child links... and 1 parent webpage... and put them into a folder, the anti-virus solution should be able to scan all the 10 CHild and 1 Parent data.. and give us a report, Else, the anti-virus solution should be able to scan any incoming virus in any file or entity that is coming into our server and generate the report for that file, Please help me thanks in advance...

• When I remove the SSL port 443 from IIS my website stops loading, how can I have it just work with only port 80 and no SSL?

  I am trying to disable SSL, I delete the 443 port so there is only an entry for port 80 and now the site won't load at all. If I re-add the 443 configuration it loads fine. What is causing it to require that? Why can't I set it up to run without SSL? Instead of just failing it should just load the page without HTTPS. If I disable port 443 and then I browse via HTTP, it STILL fails even though I am not trying to use HTTPS. What gives? When/where/how does it decide to use SSL?

• trouble accessing mail server from outside domain

  Our organization just moved our Website/Domain to a hosted VPS. We elected, for the time being, to keep our email (Exchange) running at our office. On our new VPS, we simply add a DNS record to redirect our mail to our on-site exchange server. This worked out well, as mail is coming and going with no problems. Recently, we ran across an issue when setting up outlook from outside of our office (Not on same network as exchange server). When configuring mail server address, it keeps prompting for credentials. Anyone got any ideas on why this is happening? Is our VPS not allowing Outlook to find our exchange server? If so, how can we bypass it?

Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again. I am logging in from Administrator in XP machine, able to access server from other machines. Is there any problem with administrator profile??

  I have an Mailbox which multiple users have access to, it works fine for me and I can add it in Outlook as an additional mailbox to my account and list all its content. I can access my personal mailbox using IMAP, I'm testing it by just telneting in and LIST'ing it. The problem is that another user trying to access it is having problems accessing it through IMAP; and I want to test if I can access the shared mailbox with my account - how can I do that in terms of IMAP commands? What I am doing now is: telnet mail.server 01 LOGIN user pass 02 LIST "" * 03 LOGOUT Edit: If there is another way to test this, that is an equally good answer.

If I do net localgroup administrators %computername%-admins.txt, I'd like the output file to contain the net statement as well. No powershell available to me; pure CMD/COMMAND only.   Hi, I would like to set up Exchange so that when a user (e.g. [email protected]) sends an email to somedomain.com Exchange makes the email appear to have come from [email protected]. This would have to be done on a per-domain basis, and invisibly to the user. So all emails come from [email protected], except emails to somedomain.com, which appear to come from [email protected].   I have a serious issue with crystal reports. when run in my development environment or debugged on my local machine it works fine. but when the application is published to a windows server 2003 it has the dreaded "The report you requested requires further information" Message I have had no luck trying to get rid of this message Anybody know what I can try? • Visual Studio line deletion

  Is there any way in Visual Studio 2003 that I can delete a line without it being copied into the clipboard? There are instances when I want to copy the first line of a block of text and then delete the following n lines but this then puts the last line I deleted into the clipboard, which is very annoying.
