    Suppose I have markup as setup http://jsfiddle.net/ADxne/ Currently drop downs look like To solve the 1st problem, I could add a margin-top to child ul's to compensate for padding in list items http://jsfiddle.net/ADxne/1/ .horMenu > li > ul { margin-top: 10px; } but for the 2nd problem without a fixed width list or list items, is there a way to position the sub menu to the right of the list item?   • Javascript can't find element by id?

  • Prevent click event on the clicked element?

    I have a click event on the body of my document: $("body").on('click.findElem', function(e) { e.stopPropagation(); e.preventDefault(); self.hinter(e.target); return false; }); It basically catches the clicked target and does something to it. However, there are some targets that already have a click event on them, and they prevent my click from being executed at all. How do I overcome that issue? I tried unbinding it, but the click doesn't even work at all to actually execute the unbinding.

    Ok I'm using getSharedPreferences to store my high score but before I fill it up I wanted to sort the scores into ascending order via and array, but if it finds a Score less than it in the first pos then it wont check the rest for the smallest? //function to add score to array and sort it public void addscoretoarray(int mScore){ for(int pos = 0; pos< score.length; pos++){ if(score[pos] > mScore){ //do nothing }else { //Add the score into that position score[pos] = mScore; break; } } sortArray(score); } should I call sortArray() before and after the loop to fix this problem or is there a better method to achive the same results? I should also mention that the sortArray(score) funtion is just calling Arrays.sort(score) where score is an array of mScore

    Hello, I want to hide and show some form in my page. For each form theres a link, and i want that, when i click on this link, it hide and show the nearest form of the link.   • Nested for loop error with !null checking an element that doesn't exist

    I am currently using nested for loops in a 2D array of size 4,2. When I run my program, I get index out of bounds Exception on the following line else if (state[i][j+1] != null && state[i][j].getFlash() <= state[i][j].getCycleLength() && state[i][j+1].getCycleLength() == state[i][j].getCycleLength()){ } It says the index out of bounds is 2. I would understand the error if I wasn't checking to see if [i][j+1] wasn't null, but I don't understand the exception with the check? I tried moving around the !null check but the program still fails on this line. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Stack trace: Exception in thread "Timer-0" java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 2 at NatComp.data$1.run(data.java:67) at java.util.TimerThread.mainLoop(Timer.java:512) at java.util.TimerThread.run(Timer.java:462)

    Hi. I'm testing a Swing GUI application using the UISpec4J testing framework. I'm testing validation code on a JTextField, but the framework does not support focus-change events, as it runs the application in a headless fashion. The text field has a DocumentEvent attached to it that activates the validation code. I'm trying to figure out how to dispatch the document event manually to activate the validation code. Trying to dispatch focus or mouse events manually haven't been working for me. Thanks for any help!

  • Can't set element ID in JavaScript, it's always undefined

    Hi, I want to have a function that generates ID's on the fly for a given jquery object, if it doesn't have one already. These ID's should then be used in future requests. I came up with the code below, but it doesn't work. The ID's are never set. The commented out alert statement below always return undefined. I always pass code like $(this) or $(options.el) as a parameter to substitute 'el'. Initially, the elements do not have explicitly ID set in HTML.   • Jquery find first visible element after horizontal scroll

    I’m new (only two weeks old) in Jquery, so please bear with me. I know that a very similar question was asked some time ago but I do not know how to adapt the answer to my problem. I have a very wide multicolumn layout something like this: | aaaa | bbbb | cccc | … | | aaaa | b | cc | … | | aaa | cccc | ddd | … | The code looks like: <div id="container"> <p>aaaaaaaaaaa</p> <p>bbbbb</p> <p>ccccccccccc</p> <p>dddddddddd</p> ... <p>xxxxxx</p> </div> There is no vertical scrolling and the container width is set in such a way that only two columns are shown. The user scrolls left or right to see the relevant text. What I want is to get the position currently on display, store it (maybe in a cookie) and retrieve it the next time the user opens the page. I think that I need a way of finding out what paragraph is currently the left-top most, but other suggestions are very welcome.     I have an arbitrarily deep list of the form: <ul> <li></li> <li> <ul> <li></li> </ul> </li> </ul> I am trying to build a function "nextElement" that returns a jQuery selector. The first time the function is called, it returns the first li in the list. The second time it is called, it returns the next li in the page. Etc. I'd like this function to pay no attention to siblings, parents, children, etc. All I care about is that everytime it is called, the next li in the source gets chosen. Any suggestions on how to go about approaching this? Thanks
