  • How to email CLLocationCoordinate2D as a link

    I am trying to emulate the Maps 'Share Location' via email functionality. I have the latitude and longitude of my location and am currently using it to display the location on a map via MKMapView. I also have functionality that composes an email from the app and I would like to include the location in it but can not figure out how to construct a link, using the longitude and latitude. I have seen other apps with apps with this functionality so I know it is possible. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • newline in Rackspace Cron Job email

    I'm running backups against multiple databases hosted at Rackspace. This is working fine. The problem I'm running into is with the results email. I'm using Response.Write to write a message to the web page which is used for logging and is also consumed by the results mail sent out by the job. The problem is I can't seem to get newlines to appear between log messages. The logfile stored on the server is correct, but only the first newline shows up in the email. The mail is in Plain Text format so I tried using "\n" and System.Environment.Newline and neither work. I also tried using <br/> with no luck. Does anybody have any ideas?

    Hi! I have created a web app that is almost finished. I need it to confirm new emails. I just want to know if the these are the right procedures for that, because I'm not familiar with this. I create a new table called "confirmEmails" with only one column with uniqueId. A unique Id is created with PHP: uniqueid() which is created directly after a user hit the submit button. And the php script stores it on the table. An email is sent together with a link www.domain.com/confirmEmail.php?uniqueId=kushfpuhrufhufhfhuhfheriufhehu. I have an another php script called confirmEmail.php that gets the value if uniqueId through the link with $_GET['uniqueId'];(maybe I shall use post instead her). And now it stores the new email in table called user Is it right procedures? Pls give me some feedback!

    My client has their domain name (lorem.com) registered with company X which also host their email. I'd like to host their new website with separate hosting company (company Y). I know I need to update the DNS nameservers for their domain name to point to company Y's nameservers. I'm not sure how to handle the email host though. Doing an MX lookup on their domain, currently shows: Pref Hostname 10 lorem.com 20 mx2.companyX.com Do I need to do any updates to the MX record? Also, do I need to add/edit the A record to point to company Y's IP address? Thanks!

    To avoid spammers, what's a good strategy for imposing limits on users when sending email from our site? A count limit per day on individual IPs? Sender emails? Domains? In general terms, but recommended figures will also be helpful. Our users can send emails through our web page. They can register and log in but are also allowed to do this without logging in, but with a captcha and with a field for the senders email. Certainly, there is a header, "The user has sent you the following message.", limiting the use for spammers, so perhaps it's not a big problem. Any comments on what I'm doing will be greatly appreciated.

    I want to send an anonymous email to my own gmail/hotmail/yahoo/any other mail service address (Im not trying to spam or something like that). Why? I have a .NET application and I want to add a "Send log to the developer" feature (attaching the log) using SmtpClient. The fact is I've read like 30+ pages, and found out, i.e. gmail's smtp client doesn't allow anonymous connections, and many other things. The idea is to receive a mail message like this: From: [email protected] (non-existent email really) To: [email protected] (this would be my real address which will recieve the logs attachments) Subject: Issue report nºX (auto-generated) Body: From a textbox Attachments: logs attached Is this possible? If so, how do I achieve it?

    I've been looking for documentation on the standard behaviour for mail servers who fail to deliver their mail. I want the 'From' field to be different from the account that receives emails when there is a delivery failure. E.g. My program sends an email from '[email protected]', and on failure to deliver I want to be sent the delivery failure bounceback at '[email protected]'. Is this accomplished by setting the reply-to? Or should I login with the 'failedemails' account and therefore it will receive the email back? Thanks.

  • Django rewrites URL as IP address in browser - why?

    I am using django, nginx and apache. When I access my site with a URL (e.g., http://www.foo.com/) what appears in my browser address is the IP address with admin appended (e.g., http://123.45.67.890/admin/). When I access the site by IP, it is redirected as expected by django's urls.py (e.g., http://123.45.67.890/ - http://123.45.67.890/accounts/login/?next=/) I would like to have the name URL act the same way as the IP. That is, if the URL goes to a new view, the host in the browser address should remain the same and not change to the IP address. Where should I be looking to fix this?     We have recently upgraded to Exchange 2007 (from 2003) and have noticed the change from recipient policies to email address policies. We have two separate domains (let's call them domaina.com and domainb.com) we receive email for, have email address policies and both email address policies are not applied. In our Exchange 2003 environment, domaina.com was the default email address when we created new mailboxes and due to the migration, domainb is the default (and its email address policy is a higher priority). Now, when we create a new mailbox (or edit existing ones), the primary email address becomes domainb.com. Now the question is, is this as simple as putting the email address policies in the correct order? Do I have to apply both policies? What effect will the above changes make to existing mailboxes? Since we do not have any conditions set on the policies, I assume prior to making these changes, I should force all domainb mailboxes to not automatically update email address based on policy?     I need to configure nginx + gunicorn to be able to upload files greater than the default max size in both servers. My location directives look like these in their simplest form: location /admin/path/to/upload/ { client_max_body_size 20M; } location /installer/other/path/to/upload/ { client_max_body_size 20M; } But they don't work (actually I tested lots of combinations and I'm desperate thinking about this. Edit: A very strange problem is that the code doesn't crash once every few refreshes.. then goes back to crashing

    I'm currently doing R&D for a web application which we plan to host ourselves initially and then allow customers to self host. My task has been evaluating web frameworks to see which would give us the biggest productivity initially and ease of maintence while also allowing us to easily support deployment to customer controlled environments. Our team has experience with ASP.NET (MVC and Webforms) and Ruby on Rails. Our experience with rails is that windows deployment is a very taboo subject and any questions on IRC or SO are met with knee jerk "why not linux" responses.. However in this case our target market may be running windows or linux servers. Is this also the case in django land? Is it possible with rubbish performance? Is it possible with lost of pain? Is it seen as reasonable and not treated as a completely stupid idea for not wanting to run linux?

  • Feedburner is Displaying an Inactive Email Address When Logged In

    I have set up a Feedburner subscription through my Google account login. For some reason Feedburner displays an old inactive email address in the top right when logged into Feedburner. I'm concerned since I don't have access to this email account. If for any reason I need to move my Feedburner Feed I'm concerned I'll need to access this email account which is impossible. My email address is correct in every other Google account, profile etc. and has been updated to a working and correct email address. How can I change this? Do I need to be concerned?

    I have actionmailer set up. Emails are not being sent, and no errors. Where can I start my search to debug this? class Notifier < ActionMailer::Base default_url_options[:host] = APP_DOMAIN def email_blast(user, subject, message) subject subject from NOTIFIER_EMAIL recipients user.email sent_on Time.zone.now body :user => user.first_name + ' ' + user.last_name, :message => message end I do get a return in my log that the email was sent, just no actual email goes through. Also the reason, that this is not working is because I switched form a cluster to a solo box and some server settings were overwritten. I suspect that is probably the reason why this is not working. Anyone know what specific server settings I would have to look at ? UPDATE: ActionMailer::Base.delivery_method = :sendmail config.action_mailer.default_url_options = { :host => "75.101.153.93" } I found this in my production.rb . This code was originally here when it worked. Again, I believe that there must be something missing on my server..I did a 'which sendmail' and it returned /usr/bin/sendmail , so I added this : config.action_mailer.raise_delivery_errors = false config.action_mailer.perform_deliveries = true config.action_mailer.sendmail_settings = { :location => '/usr/bin/sendmail', :arguments => '-i -t' } Redeployed, restarted the server, and tested it. No emails were sent.   • Django ORM: Ordering w/ aggregate functions — None special treatment

    Hi, I'm doing query like that: SomeObject.objects.annotate(something=Avg('something')).order_by(something).all() Now, I normally have an aggregate field in my model that I use with Django signals to keep in sync, however in this case perfomance isn't an issue so I thought I'd keep it simple and just use subqueries. This approach, however, presented an unexpected issue: It all works grate if aggregate function results are like this: [5.0, 4.0, 6.0 … (etc, just numbers)] However if you mix in some Nones than it's being ordered like this: [None, 5.0, 4.0 …] The issue is that None has higher value than any number, while it should have value at most of 0. I'm using PostgreSQL and haven't tested w/ other DBs. I haven't actually checked what query is generated etc. I worked it around by just sorting in memory: sorted(…, key=lambda _:_.avg_rating if _.avg_rating is not None else 0) So I'm just curious if you know a way to do it w/ just Django ORM. Perhaps .where? or something… Kind regards
