  • Curl Error 52 Empty reply from server

    Hello I have a cron job setup on one server to run a backup script in PHP that is hosted on another server. The command I've been using is formatted like this: curl -sS http://www.example.com/backup.php Lately I've been getting this error when the Cron runs curl: (52) Empty reply from server I have no idea what this means. If I go to the link directly in my browser the script runs fine and I get my little backup zip file. Can anyone help? Thanks, Paul

Or knows where i can find the settings from the visual studio Development center, so i can check what's wrong in IIS?

  • How can I truncate an NSString to a set length?

    I searched, but surprisingly couldn't find an answer. I have a long NSString that I want to shorten. I want the maximum length to be around 20 characters. I read somewhere that the best solution is to use substringWithRange. Is this the best way to truncate a string? NSRange stringRange = {0,20}; NSString *myString = @"This is a string, it's a very long string, it's a very long string indeed"; NSString *shortString = [myString substringWithRange:stringRange]; It seems a little delicate (crashes if the string is shorter than the maximum length). I'm also not sure if it's Unicode-safe. Is there a better way to do it? Does anyone have a nice category for this?

  • WPF ComboBox Binding to non string object

    I'm using MVVM (MVVM Light Toolkit) and have a property on the view model which exposes a list of objects. The objects contain two properties, both strings, which correlate to an abbreviation and a description. I want the ComboBox to expose the pairing as "abbreviation - description". If I use a data template, it does this easily. I have another property on the view model which represents the object that should display as selected -- the chosen item in the ComboBox. I'm binding the ItemsSource to the list, as it represents the universe of available selections, and am trying to bind the SelectedItem to this object. I'm killing myself trying to figure out why I can't get it to work, and feeling more like a fraud by the hour. In trying to learn why this works, I created the same approach with just a list of strings, and a selected string. This works perfectly. So, it clearly has something to do with the typing... perhaps something in choosing equality? Or perhaps it has to do with the data template?     Hi guys, i recently got a prebuild application which uses MYOB odbc connection to myob file. the odbc connection works perfectly in that application i uses the same odbc connection string in other application but it failed to open in that application. the connection string is perfectly identical but it wont works the new application. What I want to do is write a function that compares two "strings" and then returns 1 first word is larger than the second, the opposite if word 2 is larger than word 1, and 0 if the two words are equal.     Hello, I'm trying to figure out if it is possible to launch an intent within an ExpandableListView. Basically one of the "Groups" is Phone Number and it's child is the number.     I have NLog configured in my application to to use the BufferingTargetWrapper for sending emails with the MailTarget. The problem I'm running into is I can not find a way to force NLog to empty the BufferingTargetWrapper before the application exits from Unhandled Exceptions. I tried calling LogManager.Flush() and LogManager.DisableLogging() from the Current App Domain's UnhandledException Event but it does not seam to work. What would I need to do to make it send the emails?

  • Fuzzy string matching algorithm in Python

    Hi guys, I'm trying to find some sort of a good, fuzzy string matching algorithm. Direct matching doesn't work for me — this isn't too good because unless my strings are a 100% similar, the match fails. The Levenshtein method doesn't work too well for strings as it works on a character level. I was looking for something along the lines of word level matching e.g. String A: The quick brown fox. String B: The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog. These should match as all words in string A are in string B. Now, this is an oversimplified example but would anyone know a good, fuzzy string matching algorithm that works on a word level. Thanks in advance.

  • Render a view as a string

    Hi all! I'm wanting to output two different views (one as a string that will be sent as an email), and the other the page displayed to a user. Is this possible in ASP.NET MVC beta? I've tried multiple examples: RenderPartial to String in ASP.NET MVC Beta If I use this example, I receive the "Cannot redirect after HTTP headers have been sent.". MVC Framework: Capturing the output of a view If I use this, I seem to be unable to do a redirectToAction, as it tries to render a view that may not exist. If I do return the view, it is completely messed up and doesn't look right at all. Does anyone have any ideas/solutions to these issues i have, or have any suggestions for better ones? Many thanks!   • How to parse date from string ?

    I want to parse the date from the string where date formate can be any of different format. Now to match date we can use DateTime.TryParseExact and we can define format as we needed and date will be matched for any different format. string[] formats = {"MMM dd yyyy"}; DateTime dateValue; string dateString = "May 26 2008"; if (DateTime.TryParseExact(dateString, formats, new CultureInfo("en-US"), DateTimeStyles.None, out dateValue)) MessageBox.Show(dateValue.ToString()); This matches with date.But this is not working for parse the date from the string that is it does not matched with the date which is in some string. Like if the date is "May 26 2008" then we can define format "MMM dd yyyy" and date will be matched. But if date is in some string like "Abc May 26 2008" then date will not be matched.So for that can we use regular expression here ? If yes how ?

  • Custom MembershipProvider attempts to pass empty creds after IIS restart

    I have a C# custom ASP.Net MembershipProvider. When the user attempts to navigate to another part of the site after IIS is restarted, it doesn't navigate to the login page to collect credentials, but instead attempts to authenticate with empty credentials. Can anyone tell me what I have to do to identify that the new authentication needs to take place and that new creds need to be gathered? I have a complementary custom IHttpModule implementation that allows me to intercept events like BeginRequest and AuthenticateRequest, if that helps.
