• Session being reset when using sub-domain.

  Hi, I'm trying to use sub-domains in my ASP.NET website but I'm coming across a few problems with the session being reset. I've edited my hosts file to have 'localhost', 'one.localhost' and 'two.localhost'. I can go to any of these URLs and do what I need to do and login to my system. The session mode is defined as follows in the web.config: I'm using SQLServer as the website will be ran as a webfarm. What I'm finding is when I click something that causes a postback all the session is lost and a new session id is created, when this occurs my website is now 'localhost' rather than the logged in 'one.localhost' for example. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Cheers

• replacing kernel on non-booting ec2 instance

  So I had an amazon ec2 instance crash during the update to 14.04LTS. Frustratingly, it appears the kernel might be bad (or at least that's what the log below says to me, I could totally be wrong). I'm able to mount the volume to another, working server, chroot the broken volume, and sudo apt-get remove linux-headers-3.MOSTRECENT. Unfortunately though, when I try sudo update-grub, it comes back with /usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: cannot find a device for / (is /dev mounted?). What am I missing? • jQuery after onclick

  Hi guys, I've a form with different field, a validation summary and a button Sign up! When I click on Sign up, if a field is empty, it active validation summary and until here there's no problem. So the problem is that I would want active a jQuery script after it was clicked Sign up button and it appeared validation summary. I try with $(this).load(function() but in effect it occur when the page is load and not after the button is clicked. I try also use button's onclick ,but I have to use script after onclick and not while. I used Validation group for all field of form, also button and for this reason it seems doesn't postback!

  I'm trying to make a physicsBody rotate as soon as it is instantiated. CCNode* ball = [CCBReader load:@"Ball"]; [ball.physicsBody applyForce:force]; [ball.physicsBody applyAngularImpulse:arc4random_uniform(360) - 180]; Applying force works fine, the last line however throws an error in cpBody.c line 123: cpAssertHard(body->w == body->w && cpfabs(body->w) != INFINITY, "Body's angular velocity is invalid."); When I don't apply force and merely rotate the problem persists. If I send applyAngularImpulse at some later point (in this case on a touch) it does work. Is this function not supposed to be called right after instantiation, or is this a bug?

• After 14.04 update video/totem won't play midi

  Prior to the upgrade, I could be on wikipedia and play the 'play' links fine where totem would open a window and have screen graphics go on. Now, after researching, installing VLC and it's extensions, making sure the gnome codec installer is activated, and on and on, all I get is : "The parameters passed to the application had an invalid format. Please file a bug! The parameters were: --transient-for=16777296 gstreamer|1.0|totem-plugin-viewer|audio/x-midi-event decoder|decoder-audio/x-midi-event" When totem/video opens and I'm not sure whether the bug is being reported or not. Meaning I don't know if APPOrt is active for this as there's no box with a checkmark in it display. AND the window for totem/video ALWAYS has the sound muted when it opens.

• SSH access failure from Ubuntu 12.04 LTS VM

  I installed 2 VMs on VirtualBox. VM 1: Windows XP with FreeSSHd and PuTTY installed.IP address: 10.0.0.2 VM 2: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Server Edition with OpenSSH installed.IP address: 10.0.0.3 From VM 1, I run PuTTY with the IP address of VM 2 (10.0.0.3) and port number 22. I get prompted to input the username and password of VM 2 and everything works fine.From VM 2, I run on the terminal (Ubuntu): ssh [email protected] , I get prompted to enter the password of VM 1. I do so, but it says my password is invalid (while it is the correct one). I even deactived the Firewall on VM 1, but still the problem is here: my password is not accepted from VM 2. Is this due to some settings maybe I must do on VM 1 (Windows XP) so as I can access it with SSH ? Maybe it has something to do with the Firewall of Windows XP ?Important information: ping 10.0.0.2 from VM 1 and ping 10.0.0.3 from VM 2 are working successfully.

• Session sharing

  Hello, i have a problem with Session sharing... I have a single web application hosted on a server. I created in IIS 2 different domains for the same application (thus each pointing to same physical path). The first domain is used as main interface, and the second domain is used to change settings (kind of like an admin). If the user logs in (login information is stored in session) the first domain, and then goes to the second one, he is also logged in there, which is OK. but when i try to change something in the session (like email address) from the second domain, the data is changed OK but only in the first domain; in the second one i still have the old data... also what i've noticed is that when redirecting from first domain to second domain, every postback control posts back to the first domain even though i am on the second one - this causes encryption errors with the viewstate... If anyone has any ideas, i would appreciate it... Thank you.

• ec2 instance won't boot!

  So I had a server lose connection while updating to 14.04LTS. Foolishly, it ended up getting rebooted, and now I'm here. I disconnected the volume and mounted it on another system, chrooted it, and updated the kernel. Still no dice. Any idea what the problem could be? Thanks in advance! • I can't get a native resolution of 1920x1080 on 11.10 (AOC f22 on a Nvidia Geforce GTS 450)

  I have a problem were the highest resolution I can get is 1360x769, this is a 22 inch LCD monitor with a native resolution of 1920x1080_60 I have tried numerous drivers but nothing changed I tried editing the xorg.conf scipt with no success (I am a noob with linux though). Running many commands in terminal witch I got from people with similar problems only gives me errors like "Failed to get size of gamma for output default. I get edid checksum is invalid error on boot down also. I think there maybe a communication problem between my screens EDID and ubuntu although xp and windows 7 detect my screen without any errors and automatically set native resolution. also when I am installing ubuntu I get a horrible screen flashing every few seconds until I have installed the nvidia driver. pc specks if it helps x64 os, mainboard N68PV-GS, 4 gig ram, AMD Phenom(tm) 9350e Quad-Core Processor × 4, Nvidia Geforce gts450 512mb, hard drives set up in a onboard nvidia raid array striped. realy need to get a better resolution, 1360x769 does not look nice on a 22 inch screen. ty

• How can I get my wireless webcam to work?

  I recently bought this wireless webcam. I'm having trouble getting it to work on Ubuntu 11.04. I ran lsusb and got the folowing information about the device Bus 006 Device 003: ID 0416:a91a Winbond Electronics Corp. I did a Google serach for teh device ID and this website informs me that it matches the LogiLink Wireless Webcam (so Maplin probably just rebranded this!). What this website states is that this device should work, which it doesn't. The problem I'm facing is that I don't get any actual video being streamed or shown. The built in microphone works and, when running Cheese, when I press the camera button on the webcam itself the software recognises that the button is pressed. On that note, when running cheese from the terminal with this webcam attached I get the following error libv4l2: error getting pixformat: Invalid argument libv4l2: error setting pixformat: Input/output error Any help is appreciated

• /dev/sda2 contains a filesystem with error after partitioning

  I just wanted to create a separate home partition on my Ubuntu 12.10 system. I booted the liveDVD, resized the sda2 partition (28gb of data resized to 30gb based on MiB [originally on a 100gb partition]) and made a new ext4 partition for the home folder. The drive is an SSD drive. I had changed the settings (noatime etc.) for SSD succesfully a week ago. On reboot I get the following error: /dev/sda2 contains a filesystem with errors Inode 74669 has an invalid extent node (blk 6881289) fsd / [953] terminated with status 4 What would you suggest me to do? If I can avoid a clean install that would save me a lot of time (I had just done all the config). I was following this HOWTO, but I did not get to changing any of the files or configs other than those with gparted. I have a (two-week old) SSD Samsung drive which is functioning just fine (other specs see bottom of this question). Other specs: 64bit 12.10, i7, 8gb ram, nvidia.

• Calling a web service through a reverse proxy

  I had a w/s that when I first read the WSDL in test, was http, but needed to be accessed from behind a reverse proxy with https.  Here are the steps: Change the app.config, <httpTransport> to <httpsTransport> Change the app.config and the url address in the <endpoint>to the reverse proxy address Add System.Net.ServicePointManager.ServerCertificateValidationCallback = delegate { return true; };  to disable certificate validation.  This will validate all certificates (including invalid, expired or self-signed ones).

• Treeview Slow in IE?!?!

  I have a treeview with around 200 records that needs to be fully expanded at all times (so no loading on demand). It is inside of an update panel with the updatemode set to conditional. There are other update panels on the page as well that are set to conditional. Depending on user actions the tree may need to be rebuilt by calling databind and updating the updatepanel. Everything works fine in firefox, longest postback about 2 seconds. With IE I have to wait up to 30 seconds sometimes and the action may have nothing to do with the tree just changing a dropdown in its own updatepanel takes forever. I have considered the size of viewstate and just raw HTML generated may be causing the delay but wouldn't that effect both browsers? Anyone have anyideas what is making it so slow in IE??? Thanks!

• grub not detecting windows 8

  I have a dell inspiron 5520. I had installed windows 8 and have ubuntu 12.04 installed in a different partition. I installed grub but it was not showing windows 8. So i added menuentry "Windows 8" { set root = "(hd0,4)" chainloader +1 } in /etc/grub.d/40_custom. Now i see windows 8 option but it says "error-invalid selection" when i select it. please help. • Install problem on UEFI, Windows 8 new desktop

  I just bought an HP desktop, p6-2326s, which has windows 8 installed. I have tried booting a Ubuntu live disc but the machine won't boot it. When I bring up the UEFI boot menu it offers a selection of UEFI BOOT SOURCES, windows boot manager, dvd drive, IP4 Ethernet controller, or IP6 Ethernet controller. If I select the dvd drive with the CD in it I get the message "Secure boot violation, Invalid structure detected. Check secure boot policy in setup." With all other selections it just boots into windows. So where do I go from here?

• Model View Presenter plus ASP.NET Web Service; where does the asmx live?

  I've been slowly transitioning from a traditional web forms architecture to the MVP pattern (Passive View). So far, it's been fairly easy to implement b/c the views I've dealt with have all employed a classic PostBack model. However, I've come across my first view that will refresh portions of itself via web services. I can't grok where the web service should live (Presenter I think) or how to expose that asmx end point to my View while still maintaining the clean separation of concerns/testability that MVP affords me. I've searched far and wide for some examples on how this might be implemented and have come up with nothing. Please help!

• Ubuntu 14.04 doesn' t boot after upgrade from 12.04 installed inside Windows 8.1

  I have Ubuntu 12.04 installed like an app on windows 8.1 (Ubuntu 12.04 allow to be installed like an app in Windows 8.1 and it can be removed when you don't need it any more from Control Panel). Usually, to chose what os to boot when you start the laptop, you can choose between windows 8.1 and Ubuntu after windows logo appeared at start up and that was ok until I made this upgrade. Now when I try to choose Ubuntu the laptop try to boot it but, after that full colored screen is showed the screen go black and this messages appear: mount: mounting /dev/loop0/ on /root failed : Invalid argument mount: mounting /dev on /root/dev failed: No such file or directory mount: mounting /sys on /root/sys failed: No such file or directory mount: mounting /proc on /root/proc failed: No such file or directory Target filesystem doesn' t have requested /sbin/init No init found. • InfoPath browser form submitting dirty fields changed through javascript

  I'm trying to submit an InfoPath browser form with fields that have been modified through the Spell Checker included in Sharepoint server. The spell checker checks all the fields in the page and once the user closes the SpellChecker dialog, it changes the textboxes with the new values through javascript. When I click Submit, debug the FormEvents_Submit in the form code behind and try to do a GetNodeValue("XPath to changed field"), it still shows the old values. I realize that this may be a problem of doing postbacks and I'd like to do a full page postback once the SpellChecker is done changing all the textboxes. Any suggestions would be appreciated.   I need to send server reports to myself from my remote servers, and I don't mind them going to spam, so I don't need SPF, DKIM, etc. I tried using mailutils to send something like this: uptime | mail -s "uptime" [email protected], but the emails don't go through. In /var/mail/root I received a message saying the HELO was invalid. So then I tried also adding -r root@my-ip, and now I don't get any error messages but I don't receive the email either. How can I do this?

• asp:calendar not work correctly in MVC

  I have an asp:calendar on my view page and as I hover over it..it shows a javascript postback status bar. but I have an asp:button also on the same page and when I hover over it. The action from the controller is in the status bar..because I have an onClick attribute for the button that triggers an action on the server side. and in the asp:calendar I also have a trigger event OnSelectionChanged the has a method on the server side...but as I said when I hover over the calendar to pick a date in the status bar it shows:javascript:_doPostBack($ct100ContentPlaceHolder?mycalendar',''3270) and when I click a date I receive an error that says object doesnt support this method..Also mycalendar is the id name of the asp:calendar

• Attributes and Behaviours in game object design

  Recently I have read interesting slides about game object design written by Marcin Chady Theory and Practice of the Game Object Component Architecture. I have prototyped quick sample that utilize all Attributes\Behaviour idea with some sample data. Now I have faced a little problem when I added a RenderingSystem to my prototype application. I have created an object with RenderBehaviour which listens for messages (OnMessage function) like MovedObject in order to mark them as invalid and in OnUpdate pass I am inserting a new renderable object to rederer queue. I have noticed that rendering updates should be the last thing made in single frame and this causes RenderBehaviour to depend on any other Behaviour that changes object position (i.ex. PhysicsSystem and PhysicsBehaviour). I am not even sure if I am doing this the way it should be. Do you have any clues that might put me on the right track?
