    I produced a text file and is saved to a location in the project folder. How do I redirect them to the url that contains that text file, so they can download the text file. CreateCSVFile creates the csv file to a file path based on a datatable.     Hi All, I have a customized OpenFileDialog (VS2008, C#, Windows Forms) with a ComboBox. The ComboBox will have a list of paths which the user can select. My question, is there a way I can change the directory in Open File Dialog to point to the path in the combobox selected item. InitialDirectory works only before I open the dialog, I wanted a way to change the directory programatically after the dialog is open. Thanks

We prefer to find an open source program like this and try to evolve it instead of creating it from scratch. In this manner our time is saved and that open source program will be completer too.   • Detect a file is closed

    Is there a simple way to detect when a file for writing is closed? I have a process that kicks out a new file every 5 seconds. I can not change the code for that process. I am writing another process to analyze the contents of each file immediately when it is created. Is there a simple way to watch a certain directory to see when a file is no longer opened for writing? I'm hoping for some sort of Linux command.

  • MS-Access nested DIR - check if a file exists elsewhere whilst looping through a folder

    I have used the DIR() command in Microsoft Access 2003 to loop through the files in folder A. This works fine, but I need to check if each file also exists in another location (folder B), and only process the file if it doesn't exist in folder B. The problem is that checking for the file existing in folder B also uses the DIR() function and this then resets or confuses the original one, with the result that no further files are found in folder A. Is there a way to check if a file exists without using DIR? Or, is there a way to have a separate instance of DIR? I suppose I could build a list of the files in folder A into an array and then process the entries in the array, but this seems rather 'clunky' Any suggestions for a better solution? Thanks

    I am nearly happy with my dialog widget now, only that there is a built-in behavior of the close button fading in and out with mouseover/out interaction. I have found no way to disable this feature such that the close button remains at full opacity anytime the dialog is open. Here's roughly the code I'm working from: var d = new dojox.widget.Dialog({modal:true,sizeMethod:"chain",closable:true}); d.startup(); d.attr('content', /*html content*/); d.attr('dimensions',[/*width*/, /*height*/ ]).show(); There's much logic that I'm omitting here for brevity, but this should be all that is specifically pertinent to the way I am constructing the dialog.     I have SlideShowPro, a Flash photo app that loads an XML file with the paths to the images. Now I don't want people to go sniff in the XML file to get to the images. I tried changing the file images.xml to spacer.gif and it seems to work fine. But I would like to know if I would run into any problems changing the extension. btw already used a few techniques to make the images not so accessible, I know there is no bulletproof solution. Obfuscating the XML file is just another trick..

    Basically I'm using Flash to connect to a Java server. Despite my Java application replying to the , in the Flash debug log it lists (not sure about the order as there are lots): * Security Sandbox Violation * Connection to 192.168.1.86:4049 halted - not permitted from http://127.0.0.1:8888/Current/wander.swf Warning: Timeout on xmlsocket://192.168.1.86:4049 (at 3 seconds) while waiting for socket policy file. This should not cause any problems, but see http://www.adobe.com/go/strict_policy_files for an explanation. Error: Request for resource at xmlsocket://192.168.1.86:4049 by requestor from http://127.0.0.1:8888/Current/wander.swf is denied due to lack of policy file permissions. What I don't understand is, the server (port 4049) receives the request, outputs the policy file and then closes the connection, surely it shouldn't time out? The policy file I'm using is: <?xml version="1.0"?> <cross-domain-policy><allow-access-from domain="*" to-ports="*" /> </cross-domain-policy>

The application will open some files and I'd like to allow many users to open the files at the same time, but only allow the first user to have write privileges. What I want is to be able to tell the other users who has write access to a file. Is that something that can be learned by an application? (I am developing in VS 2008).

I bought a new server that supports Shell Access so now I want to copy a file that is on the non-supporting server to new server via a Shell Command using Putty. File url is like this http://www.domain.com/file.gzip and it is username/password protected. If I be more specified, I want to copy a backup of a home directory from cPanel to my new server via Shell command. If a user then enters a new path, is it possible to save that path. So when he executes the self extraction packagde again, it could remember that new path?

    I zipped a rails project from OS X and sent it to a colleague who works on Windows. He updated the source, zipped the whole project folder and sent the zip file back to me. After unzipping the project, I found that the file permissions information is kind of lost. For example, the script/server is changed from -rwxr-xr-x to -rw-r--r--. Is there a way to preserver the file permission flags, when transferring files between mac and windows? Thanks

    Looking for hints, tips and search terms for changing the text on a win32 window from C#. More specifically, I'm trying to change the text on the print dialog from "Print" to "OK", as I am using the dialog to create a print ticket and not do any printing. How can I find the dialog's window handle? Once I've got it, how would I go about finding the button in the child windows of the form? Once I've found that, how would I change the text on the button? And how can I do all this before the dialog is shown? There's a similar question here, but it points to a CodeProject article that is waaay more complex than needed and is taking me a bit longer to parse through than I'd like to spend on this. TIA.

There is no error message but I find the writing is not complete if I didn't quit IDLE. How can I complete the file writing without quitting the IDLE? Thanks. (I use Python 2.6.2 on Windows XP.)

I'm using just a simple code under Slackware 13: $fp = fopen('/my/absolute/path/data.txt', 'w'); fwrite($fp, 'just a testing string...'); fclose($fp); The file gets created (if it's not already created) but it's empty ?! The directory in which this file is written is owned by apache's user & group (daemon.daemon) and has 0777 permissions. This has never happened to me before. When I create an HHP file using new project option and then compile it to create another CHM file. Now these two CMH files are not of same size and they behave differently. Am I missing something here? I am simply decompiling and re-compiling the same CHM file but the result is different.

  • Deleting a possibly locked file in c

    I am using fcntl locks in C on linux and have a dilemma of trying to delete a file that may possibly be locked from other processes that also check for the fcntl locking mechanism. What would be the preferred way of handling this file which must be deleted, (Should I simply delete the file w/o regard of other processes that may have reader locks or is there a better way)? Any help would be much appreciated.
