    I'm cocking this up and it should be really simple but the value of sortdate is none (note im only doing this because converting a string to a date in Python is a bugger). DateToPass = str(self.request.get('startdate')) mybreak.startdate = DateToPass faf = DateToPass.split('-') sortdate = str(faf[2] + faf[1] + faf[0]) That should work? but its just being stored as null though the datetopass is being stored fine.

    I use 64.202.189.170 (godaddy) for a HTTP access to a www...on google app engine like GAE issue 777 so that a blank subdomain forwards to www.domain I get the blank to respond by output "This website is temporarily unavailable, please try again later. " There's info about this issue here http://knol.google.com/k/google-apps-discussion-group#view and here http://code.google.com/p/googleappengine/issues/detail?id=777 Since I managed to do it with a .com domain (The godaddy DNS hosted gralumo.com correctly responds to www..)     Hello all, 2 days ago, there was a question related to string.LastIndexOf(String.Empty) returning the last index of string. So I thought that; a string can always contain string.empty between characters like: "testing" == "t" + String.Empty + "e" + String.Empty +"sting" + String.Empty; After this, I wanted to test if String.IndexOf(String.Empty) was returning 0 because since String.Empty can be between any char in a string, that would be what I expect it to return and I wasn't wrong. string testString = "testing"; int index = testString.LastIndexOf(string.Empty); // index is 6 index = testString.IndexOf(string.Empty); // index is 0 It actually returned 0. I started to think that if I could split a string with String.Empty, I would get at least 2 string and those would be String.Empty and rest of the string since String.IndexOf(String.Empty) returned 0 and String.LastIndexOf(String.Empty) returned length of the string.. Here is what I coded: string emptyString = string.Empty; char[] emptyStringCharArr = emptyString.ToCharArray(); string myDummyString = "abcdefg"; string[] result = myDummyString.Split(emptyStringCharArr); The problem here is, I can't obviously convert String.Empty to char[] and result in an empty string[]. I would really love to see the result of this operation and the reason behind this. So my questions are: Is there any way to split a string with String.Empty? If it is not possible but in an absolute world which it would be possible, would it return an array full of chars like [0] = "t" [1] = "e" [2] = "s" and so on or would it just return the complete string? Which would make more sense and why? Thank you for your time.

    I have a Linksys router running DD-WRT (Firmware: DD-WRT v24-sp2 (09/08/09) mini). I have it successfully resolving the DNS names for my DHCP-assigned systems, but only when I fully-qualify those domains. This is despite using the "expand-hosts" DNSMasq additional option, which is supposed to activate this precise function. Here's my dnsmasq.conf: interface=br0 resolv-file=/tmp/resolv.dnsmasq domain=example.com dhcp-leasefile=/tmp/dnsmasq.leases dhcp-lease-max=51 dhcp-option=lan,3,10.77.0.5 dhcp-authoritative dhcp-range=lan,10.77.0.100,10.77.0.149,255.255.0.0,1440m dhcp-host=00:1A:A0:1D:82:5A,astatichostname,10.77.1.40,infinite expand-hosts (FYI: example.com and astatichostname are placeholders for the real-deal names I use. My network uses 10.77.0.0/16; my router is on 10.77.0.5.) Results: > nslookup astatichostname 10.77.0.5 Server: 10.77.0.5 Address: 10.77.0.5#53 ** server can't find astatichostname: NXDOMAIN > nslookup astatichostname.example.com 10.77.0.5 Server: 10.77.0.5 Address: 10.77.0.5#53 Name: astatichostname.example.com Address: 10.77.1.40 Is there something else that could be tripping up expand-host in DNSMasq?

    I have to create a virtual host on a server which, previously hosted a single website (domain name). Now I'm trying to add a second domain on this server (using the same nameserver). What I've done so far: Initially there was no virtual host so I've made one for the second domain: NameVirtualHost *:80 <VirtualHost *:80> DocumentRoot /var/www/bla ServerName www.blabla.com ServerAlias blabla.com <Directory /var/www/blabla> Order deny,allow Allow from all AllowOverride All </Directory> </VirtualHost *:80> Because nothing happend, I changed the DocumentRoot of the apache server to /var/www (initially was the root document of the first website -/var/www/html) and created a virtual host for the first domain too: <VirtualHost *:80> DocumentRoot /var/www/html ServerName www.first.com ServerAlias first.com <Directory /var/www/html> Order deny,allow Allow from all AllowOverride All </Directory> </VirtualHost *:80> In this case, first.com is working ok, but bla.com not. When I ping blabla.com I get the "unkown host" response. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to modify something in the DNS settings too? Thank you.
