  • freeFTPd and scp/sshfs

    When I connect to freeFTPd using the CLI 'sftp' client from my Ubuntu system, it works find. Unfortunately, that client sucks at downloading whole directory trees. So I tried to use scp and I get "exec request failed on channel 0" So I tried sshfs. I can browse the directory structure, but it lists the files and says they do not exist. The freeFTPd server logs have no useful information.

    I've set up keys with the following: opendkim-genkey -t -s mail -d test.com The private key (pertinent to this question) contains: -----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY----- (some stuff here) -----END RSA PRIVATE KEY----- My opendkim.conf contains: Domain test.com KeyFile /etc/opendkim/dkim.private Selector mail I am then testing with: opendkim-testkey -d test.com -s mail -k /etc/mail/dkim.public Yet receive the following error: opendkim-testkey: PEM_read_bio_PrivateKey() failed error:0906D06C:PEM routines:PEM_read_bio:no start line The files exist and have opendkim as the user and group, and adequate permissions. Has anyone any advice?

  • Unable to enable FTP access of Mac OSX Snow Leopard

    When I try to enable the FTP service in the preferences (File Sharing-Options-Share Files and Folders Using FTP) the check box enables and then disables again. The console is giving me the message : 16/04/2010 12:14:20 com.apple.coreservicesd[51] sh: launchctl: command not found This indicates to me that it can't find the launchctl executable launchctl is present in the folder /bin /bin is set in the PATH variable for sh and bash shells and also in the ~/.MacOS/environment.plist How can I fix this so that my preferences can find this so that I can enable the FTP service.

  • Permission denied: /home/.htaccess pcfg_openfile: unable to check htaccess file

    This domain was working this morning, now I get a 403 error and the message above in my error log. I'm not using .htaccess files but I have been doing some copy on the server so may have messed things up but no changes to this domain (unless by accident!). What is this pcfg_openfile thing anyway? Done lots of googleing but none of the solutions seemed to fit these circumstances. Server is ubuntu Hardy Heron.

  • Multiple git repos in plesk virtual hosts

    Each plesk vhost only has one user access that httpdocs directory. I want to manage a whole bunch of separate virtual hosts using Git. Does this mean installing a separate Git repository with a separate user / ssh public key combination for each virtual host or is there a way of centralising it at all? Gitosis sounds like it might help - but I'm not sure if it gets round pushing the files to each virtual host.

  • Slow local file transfer (copy) on ESX vmware server?

    I have a 8 CPU VmWare ESX server (3.5) with 4 HDD drives in RAID that is not loaded at all. I enabled SSH and installed mc (midnight commander) in order to be able to copy(clone) virtual machines but I observed that if does copy the files very slow - around 3.5mb/s on local drive. Why is this happening and how should I solve the issue?

    I have a Windows 7 laptop, which i want to back up to a network folder. There is a drive (partition) on my laptop machine that i want to backup to a network drive- if i delete a file in the folder on my laptop, it should also be deleted from the backup... I used to use syncToy, however i understand this does not work correctly with windows 7 - at least not with a large number of files. Are there any alternatives?

  • MSBuild cannot find SGen when compiling a solution

    I've looked at several other SGen-related questions on here and either their answers don't apply or their answers don't fix this for me. I have installed several SDKs to fix this issue with no luck. Reference types should not be changed since this is the only place this is a problem. Once suggestion is to put SGen.exe into the C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5 folder, but that's not been done on the box where this is not a problem. In this scenario, SGen.exe actually exists and is right where it's supposed to be, but MSBuild still is having issues with finding it for some reason! Background: We have a NAnt script that automates our builds. In this scenario, NAnt is calling MSBuild and MSBuild is generating the error claiming to be unable to find SGen. The project is .NET 3.5-based. I have my primary dev environment (64-bit Vista Ultimate) where the script works perfectly and I am attempting to duplicate it in a VM (64-bit Win 7 Ultimate). I THINK I have everything to the point where I should be good-to-go but this fails on the Win7 box (works perfectly on the Vista box). I have done some comparisons between the two boxes and they both look identical in this regard, but it still fails. For example, the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETFramework's sdkInstallRootv2.0 value is set to C:\Program Files\Microsoft.NET\SDK\v2.0 64bit\ on both machines. In both machines, SGen.exe is in that path's bin subdirectory.   • SMB2 traffic crashes network?

    We've been having significant network slowdown issues over the past few weeks, primarily on a Friday morning. We run Windows 7 client machines, with Windows Server 2008 R2 servers. What generally happens is the network starts to slow down massively at 08:55 and resumes normal speeds at around 09:20 This affects everything on the network from logging on, resetting passwords, opening programs and files etc. On my client machine, Physical Memory usage remains at around 40% (normal) and CPU usage hovers around 0-10% idle. The servers show memory usage spikes massively and remains quite intense during the times mentioned above. I have taken several wireshark captures, both during the slowdown and when the network operates fine. One of the main things I noticed is the increase in SMB2 entries in the wireshark log during the slowdown. One of the interesting things to note is the last entry in the examples above is for a PDF file. That file was not open anywhere on my computer, or on anyone elses. No folders with the files in were open either. When I took another capture when the network was running fine, there were hardly any SMB2 entries, and the ones that were displayed were mainly from Wireshark. We currently have around 800 computers, 90 Macs and 200 Laptops and Netbooks. Our concern is if this traffic is happening on my computer, is it happening on other computers, and if so, would those computers be adding to the slow network issues? Again, this only happens during certain times. We're pretty sure its not the our antivirus. Is there anything to narrow down whats initializing this SMB traffic during the particular times? Or if anyone has any extra advice, or links to resources it would be appreciate.

After loading it up with files, I moved it to my Windows XP SP3 where it didn't show up automatically in My Computer. I opened up Computer ManagementDisk Management and see it listed as a "Health (GPT Protective Parititon)". What's up with that? Can I mount it?

  • Install MegaCli to Monitor Perc 5/i in Nexentastor 3

    I have a Dell 2950 with a Perc 5/i Raid controller that we've already installed Nexentastor 3 Community Edition on. We setup a raid-10 array that and put a ZFS pool on top of the hardware. As I understand, in this configuration ZFS/Nexentastor will not be able to tell when a disk fails in the array. Obviously, this is not optimal. Since the Dell Perc 5/i controller is a rebranded LSI controller, you should be able to use the MegaCli utility to manage the array and monitor its condition. I had seen in a separate forum that the Perc 5/i is very similar to the LSI MegaRAID 8480E, so I tried installing the MegaCli utility at the link below.     What is the difference between uninstalling a program through Control Panel, and uninstalling via the Program's uninstall.exe? Example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Notepad++\uninstall.exe In general, I read that it's better to uninstall a program via window's Control Panel. But for the programs that have their own uninstall.exe, is there any real difference between the un-installations? Is the Control Panel's cleaner in removing dependencies?
