  • Apache port forwarding with ZTE ZXV10 W300 router (provider specific firmware)

    - by dannote
I'm trying to configure port forwarding for Apache 2.2 installed on Windows XP SP3 with ZTE ZXV10 W300 router. The computer has a static IP 192.168.1.2. Port forwarding is configured as following: Enable true Name Apache Protocol TCP (also tried TCP and UPD) WAN Host Start IP Address empty WAN Host End IP Address empty WAN Connection stream WAN Start Port 8080 WAN End Port 8080 LAN Host IP Address 192.168.1.2 LAN Host Start Port 8080 LAN Host End Port 8080 Port 8080 is open for both TCP and UPD in Windows Brandmauer. Apache configuration: Listen 192.168.1.2:8080 Router Firmware: Hardware Version V1.0.01 Software Version V8.0.02T03_CFA Boot Loader Version V1.1.2 The provider is COMSTAR. I'm not sure but it's said they flash routers with modified firmware. I have also tried to set up Bitcomet port forwarding on port 13514 and failed.

  • Accessing apache in ubuntu 10 virtualbox guest from ubuntu 10 host

    - by Francis L
I did the following: installed VirtualBox 3.1.6 OSE in ubuntu 10 desktop. installed ubuntu 10 server on a virtual machine in VirtualBox. select "LAMP server" and "OpenSSH server" options during the ubuntu server installation. leave network "adapter 1" of virtual machine as "NAT". use "VBoxManage" described in manual to setup port forwarding on the host (Protocol: TCP, GuestPort: 80, HostPort: 8080). verify "ExtraDataItem" have been added to "ubuntuServer1.xml" (my virtual machine name) correctly. run command "pgrep apache" in ubuntu server in virtual machine to ensure apache is running. Everything went well. But, when I try to access the apache from the browser on the host with "http://localhost:8080/", it just continue fetching with no response. Now, I'm struck! Please help! Many many thanks in advance!

  • Apache 2.4.3 php-fpm mod_fast_cgi and mod_cache

    - by Anjia
Did anybody successfully configured mod_cache in apache 2.4 with php-fpm and fastcgi? my cgi config: <IfModule mod_fastcgi.c> Alias /php5.fastcgi /var/www/fastcgi/php5.fastcgi AddHandler php-script .php FastCGIExternalServer /var/www/fastcgi/php5.fastcgi -socket /mnt/tmp/fast/php-fpm.sock -idle-timeout 1600 -pass-header Authorization Action php-script /php5.fastcgi virtual My php-fpm config is standard and I am loading mod_cache and mod_disk_cache in Apache. However the Apache does not seems to cache any content. • Cannot access Tomcat application remotely, but can access Apache applications

    - by David Keaveny
I am installing Atlassian's Confluence 4.2 on a clean Ubuntu 12.04 server. Confluence runs on Tomcat 6, and uses PostgreSQL 9.1 as its datastore. I've installed and configured phpPgAdmin to manage PostgreSQL, and Zentyal to manage the server generally. Both these applications use Apache. The problem that I am experiencing is that while I can access phpPgAdmin and Zentyal without problem from a remote PC, I can only access Confluence when running locally (either specified by localhost, IP address or host name). Instead I get an HTTP 502 Connection Failed error. By way of experimentation, I also installed Ajenti, which appears to use lighttpd rather than Apache or Tomcat, and it too works fine when connected to locally, but gives me the same HTTP 502 error when connected to remotely. So applications served from Apache work fine, but applications served from other services do not - does that ring a bell with anyone? It's been over 10 years since I last sysadmin'ed a Linux box, so I'm more than a little rusty!

  • Getting apache to use ldap group and filesystem group information

    - by Angelo
We have an Apache server which serves out of a particular directory, and just supplies a listing of files. From this directory, each subdirectory is owned by a certain group of users (at the filesystem level). User groups are determined by a posixGroup in ldap. Is there any simple way I can tell Apache to authorize access based on filesystem permissions, just like if the users were to access the filesystem from a shell? I would like to be able to simply add users/groups/directories without having to add another Directory or Location directive in Apache's conf?

  • Can't enable apache mod on emerge

    - by ranisalt
I want to add mod_proxy and mod_proxy_http to Apache server on my Gentoo, but apparently some file with high priority on the system is disabling the mods and preventing me to install. I am currently editing /usr/portage/profiles/base/make.defaults file, but it gets updated (and changes lost) every time I update the system. I have to edit it every time I update the system/reinstall Apache. Besides that, I have already added dependencies to the /etc/portage/package.use file: www-servers/apache proxy proxy_http What other files do I have do change or should check flags so I can enable proxy and do not have to edit files again every time?

  • Disable .htaccess from apache allowoverride none, still reads .htaccess files

    - by John Magnolia
I have moved all of our .htaccess config into <Directory> blocks and set AllowOverride None in the default and default-ssl. Although after restarting apache it is still reading the .htaccess files. How can I completely turn off reading these files? When you need a different shutdown # approach you can use one of the following variables: # o ssl-unclean-shutdown: # This forces an unclean shutdown when the connection is closed, i.e. no # SSL close notify alert is send or allowed to received. This violates # the SSL/TLS standard but is needed for some brain-dead browsers. Use # this when you receive I/O errors because of the standard approach where # mod_ssl sends the close notify alert. # o ssl-accurate-shutdown: # This forces an accurate shutdown when the connection is closed, i.e. a # SSL close notify alert is send and mod_ssl waits for the close notify # alert of the client. This is 100% SSL/TLS standard compliant, but in # practice often causes hanging connections with brain-dead browsers. Use # this only for browsers where you know that their SSL implementation # works correctly. # Notice: Most problems of broken clients are also related to the HTTP # keep-alive facility, so you usually additionally want to disable # keep-alive for those clients, too. Use variable "nokeepalive" for this. # Similarly, one has to force some clients to use HTTP/1.0 to workaround # their broken HTTP/1.1 implementation. Directives that control the operation of the Apache server process as a # whole (the 'global environment'). # 2. Directives that define the parameters of the 'main' or 'default' server, # which responds to requests that aren't handled by a virtual host. # These directives also provide default values for the settings # of all virtual hosts. # 3. Settings for virtual hosts, which allow Web requests to be sent to # different IP addresses or hostnames and have them handled by the # same Apache server process. # # Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many # of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the # server will use that explicit path. If the filenames do *not* begin # with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "foo.log" # with ServerRoot set to "/etc/apache2" will be interpreted by the # server as "/etc/apache2/foo.log". # ### Section 1: Global Environment # # The directives in this section affect the overall operation of Apache, # such as the number of concurrent requests it can handle or where it # can find its configuration files. # # # ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's # configuration, error, and log files are kept. # # NOTE! If you intend to place this on an NFS (or otherwise network) # mounted filesystem then please read the LockFile documentation (available # at <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/mpm_common.html#lockfile>); # you will save yourself a lot of trouble. # # Do NOT add a slash at the end of the directory path. # #ServerRoot "/etc/apache2" # # The accept serialization lock file MUST BE STORED ON A LOCAL DISK. # LockFile ${APACHE_LOCK_DIR}/accept.lock # # PidFile: The file in which the server should record its process # identification number when it starts. # This needs to be set in /etc/apache2/envvars # PidFile ${APACHE_PID_FILE} # # Timeout: The number of seconds before receives and sends time out. # Timeout 300 # # KeepAlive: Whether or not to allow persistent connections (more than # one request per connection). • Macports Apache Slow to Start/Stop

    - by moranjk
I am running OSX 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion) with Apache2 from MacPorts for local development, and just recently I noticed it is taking almost a minute to restart Apache. I wouldn't think anything of it except it normally would restart in less than a second. I had all but given up Googling when I noticed that if I turned off the WiFi (I haven't tried hardwire yet) Apache would restart just as it use to. What would cause Apache to take longer to start when I am connected to the LAN? What can be done to mitigate this issue?

  • Apache Prefork Configuration

    - by user1618606
I'm newbie on VPS configuration. So, I've installed apache, php and mysql and now I need to know how to configure Prefork to optimize Apache. The system configuration is: CPU Cores 2 x 2 Ghz @ 4 Ghz RAM Memory 2304 MB DDR3 Burst Memory 3 GB DDR3 Disk Space 30 GB SSD Bandwidth 3 TB SwitchPort 1 Gbps Actually, after linux, mysql, apache and php, there are 250 MB memory in use. Well, I don't have idea to calculate. I saw in some websistes, some vars like: KeepAlive On KeepAliveTimeout 1 MaxKeepAliveRequests 100 StartServers 15 MinSpareServers 15 MaxSpareServers 15 MaxClients 20 MaxRequestsPerChild 0 or StartServers 2 MaxClients 150 MinSpareThreads 25 MaxSpareThreads 75 ThreadsPerChild 25 MaxRequestsPerChild 0 How I could to do: Prefork or worker? Where and how the vars are placed? In httpd.conf?

  • Apache - setting up a subdomain

    - by Adam
I'm having trouble getting a subdomain working for an Apache Linux Install. Following is what I've configured: DNS: connect.goneglobal.com. CNAME 54.251.35.112 Apache httpd.conf: <VirtualHost *:80> DocumentRoot /var/www/html/connect.goneglobal.com ServerName connect.goneglobal.com </VirtualHost> restart httpd - this ip is registered to this server - works for other sites on this apache. (first time I've tried a subdomain). Appears the issue is with DNS potentially and it doesn't seem to get to the site. Note: I have an index.php in the Documentroot. Note: there is an A record for goneglobal.com. which goes to a different hosting provider. thx

  • Varnish / Apache redirecting to backend port 8080

    - by deko
I'm running Varnish 2 with Apache backend at 8080 on the same machine. Everything is working fine, except one problem: Sometimes Apache(?) is redirecting to backend port :8080 especially when I'm using htaccess. Users are displayed the 8080 port in the URL and Google is crawling my site on the backend port as well, which is not desirable. I want Apache 8080 to be accessible only to Varnish on localhost, and not to redirect or display the backend port. What would be a quick way to prevent users being directed to 8080 and search engines denied crawling the backend? Here is an example htaccess line: redirect /promotion /register.php?promotion=june which causes www.domain.com/promotion to redirect to www.domain.com:8080/register.php?promotion=june

I want to remove apache as if it was never installed, no config files left behind. I intend to reinstall apache2 fresh. I have tried various combinations of apt-get options to no success. apt-get remove apache2 apt-get remove --purge apache2 apt-get purge apache2 apt-get autoremove apache2 None of these totally remove apache properly. Nothing works, the /etc/apache2 directory still exists. So I deleted it. When I install apache the folder is never created. Running Ubuntu server 10.10.

  • Give apache write access to DocumentRoot on dev server

    - by Abhi Beckert
I've got apache running on my mac workstation (OS X 10.7, with the pre-installed copy of apache), and our web applications require write access to certain sections of the filesystem to run (usually just a tmp dir, but sometimes more than that). We have (literally) thousands of clients, and I want to be able to quickly grab a copy of any website's code, and have it "just work", however I always need to manually modify the unix permissions of specific directories after pulling a client's website out of source control (the list of directories varies from one client to another, as it has changed over the years). Since it's a dev server, firewalled off from the general internet, I would like to give apache/php write access to the entire DocumentRoot. How can I do this? I tried chmod 777 on the DocumentRoot, but if I create a directory inside it, the permissions are still 755 (owner: me, group: wheel). I think there should be a way to force all files created inside DocumentRoot to be 777 or perhaps 775, with the _www user added to the wheel group?

  • CentOS / Redhat: Give file permission for apache and vsftp

    - by paskster
I use CentOS 5.5 and Apache Webserver on my dedicated Server. My Folder "/var/www/myWebApp" is owned by apache, so that apache can read, write logs, etc.. But now I would like to use very secure FTP (vsftp) to upload my new files. I used to give every user rwx -Acess to "/var/www/myWebApp", but I guess this is way to insecure. On CentOS I created another user "ftpuser" for uploading files and that has "/var/www/myWebApp" as its home directory. How can I give him the permission to write into the "/var/www/myWebApp" without giving every user the same rights?

  • Apache: Setting up a reverse proxy configuration with SSL with url rewriting

    - by user1172468
There is a host: secure.foo.com that exposes a webservice using https I want to create a reverse proxy using Apache that maps a local http port on a server internal.bar.com to the https service exposed by secure.foo.com Since it a web service I need to map all urls so that a path: https://secure.foo.com/some/path/123 is accessible by going to: http://internal.bar.com/some/path/123 Thanks. I've gotten this far: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName gnip.measr.com SSLProxyEngine On ProxyPass / https://internal.bar.com/ </VirtualHost> I think this is working except for the url rewriting. Some resources I've found on this are: Setting up a complex Apache reverse proxy Apache as reverse proxy for https server

  • Apache log file problem

    - by Luke
I've recently set up an Apache 2 web server and I noticed a quite a few lines in the error and access log that start with the follow sequence (but longer). Does anyone know where this comes from? ^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@ ....... My set up is an Apache 2 load balancer with mod_balancer enabled and two Apache 2 web servers. All three servers write to the same log files on a share located on a NFS. My first guess is that my problem has to do with it since it's the only difference that comes to mind from other set ups I've used in the past but I'm not sure.

  • Apache reverse proxy, redirect requests based on IP addresses

    - by Mr Aleph
I have a Linux box with 2 NICs. I installed and configured Apache 2 for reverse proxy. Each NIC has its own IP address and I was wondering if there is any way to redirect the requests via Apache based on the IP address that was used to get to the box. For example: eth0 has IP 100.100.100.100, eth1 has 200.200.200.200 If I browse to http://100.100.100.100/AppName/App I want it to redirect to 1.1.1.1 and if I browse to http://200.200.200.200/AppName/App I want it to go to 2.2.2.2 Right now the configuration for Apache is set as follow ProxyPass /AppName/App http://1.1.1.1/AppName/App ProxyPassReverse /AppName/App http://1.1.1.1/AppName/App So anything going to /AppName/App will be redirected to 1.1.1.1 I was reading something about ProxyHTMLURLMap but I don't know whether this is something that might help. Any idea how to do this? Thanks!

  • Running NginX (with Apache) and cPanel/WHM

    - by ub3rst4r
I was wondering if its a good idea to be running NginX as the webserver (on port 80) and Apache as the reverse proxy (on port 8080) with cPanel/WHM being used as a control panel? I also installed Nginx Admin so the configuration for NginX is managed by WHM. The reason I am asking is because I came across an article (http://kbeezie.com/view/apache-with-nginx/) which explains how to setup Apache as a reverse proxy but it states If you are using a control panel based hosting such as cpanel/whm, this method is not advised. Most of the servers configuration is handled automatically in those cases, and making manual changes will likely lead to problems (plus you won’t get support from the control panel makers or your hosting provider in most cases). Anyone have any past experiences with this and can say if its good/bad idea?

  • Why does Apache ignore my Directory block?

    - by Codemonkey
I just moved my projects into a new workstation. I'm having trouble getting my Apache installation to acknowledge my .htaccess files. This is my /etc/apache2/conf.d/dev config file: <Directory /home/codemonkey/dev/myproject/> Options -Indexes AllowOverride All Order Allow,Deny Deny from all </Directory> I know the config file is being included by Apache because it complains if I put erroneous syntax in it (Action 'configtest' fails). My project is reachable through Apache by a symlink in the /var/www directory. The server is running with my user and group, so it has my permissions. My entire dev folder has permissions set to 770 recursively. Despite all this, I'm still getting an indexed display of my project folder when I visit http://localhost/myproject. Why isn't the above config making it impossible to view the folder in the browser?

  • Error accessing other groups files in apache

    - by Shashank Jain
I am using Cloud9 IDE on my server, which creates files with default permission 640. As a result when I try to open those file via HTTP, apache shows permission denied error. When IDE is running as root user, files created belong to root:root. Also, when I see as what user is apache running, all its processes are shown to be running as root user. I cannot understand why still it cannot access files. I know if I add apache's user to group of file owner, it will work. But, I don't know which user to add. PS: I don't want to change permission of each file I create. I want less troubling solution.
