• How to handle too many files in Qt

  I'm not sure how to ask this, but here goes the question: I'm migrating from J2SE to Qt. After creating some small applications in Qt, I noticed that I've created way too many files compared to what I would've create if I was developing in Java (I use Netbeans). For an example, for a GUI to Orders, I'd have to create Main Order Search Window Edit Order Dialog Manage Order Dialog Maybe some other dialogs... For Java, I don't have to create a new file for every new Dialog, the Dialog will be created in the JFrame class itself. So, I will only be seeing 1 file for Orders which has other Dialogs in it. However, in Qt, I'd have to create 1 ui file, 1 header file, 1 cpp file for each of the Dialog (I know I can just put the cpp in the header, but it's easier to view codes in seperate files). So, in the end, I might end up with 3 (if there are 3 dialogs) x3 files = 9 files for the GUI in Qt, compared to Java which is only 1 file. I do know that I can create a GUI by coding it manually. But it seems easy on small GUIs but not some on complicated GUIs with lots of inputs, tabs and etc. So, is there any suggestion on how to minimize the file created in Qt?

• Functioning Socket read no longer works when called in AsyncTask

  I'm making an app that sends a string to a server over a socket and then reads the output after the server has processed that data. • Minimized window position in WPF

  I am trying to save the position of a custom dialog to the users registry, so that when they reload the same dialog, it appears in the same place they moved or resized it to previously. I am saving the windows X position Y position Width and Height. It all works fine except for when the dialog is minimized. If the dialog is minimized and the user right clicks the dialogs representation on the taskbar (windows 7) they can click "close this window". Strangely, the number -32030 gets saved in the registry as the X and Y positions but the width and height get saved correctly. Any idea where this number comes from and what to do in this situation thx

• Swing: How do I run a job from AWT thread, but after a window was layed out?

  My complete GUI runs inside the AWT thread, because I start the main window using SwingUtilities.invokeAndWait(...). Now I have a JDialog which has just to display a JLabel, which indicates that a certain job is in progress, and close that dialog after the job was finished. The problem is: the label is not displayed. That job seems to be started before JDialog was fully layed-out. When I just let the dialog open without waiting for a job and closing, the label is displayed. The last thing the dialog does in its ctor is setVisible(true). Things such as revalidate(), repaint(), ... don't help either. Even when I start a thread for the monitored job, and wait for it using someThread.join() it doesn't help, because the current thread (which is the AWT thread) is blocked by join, I guess. Replacing JDialog with JFrame doesn't help either. So, is the concept wrong in general? Or can I manage it to do certain job after it is ensured that a JDialog (or JFrame) is fully layed-out?   Hi, I'm looking for a method to specify parent window in *.rc file. In *.rc file, it contains the layout and controls of a dialog. Any new control added into it, will automatically become a child window of Dialog itself. But I want to add a custom draw window into dialog, and some other controls which has that "custom draw window" as parent window, not dialog itself. I know I can use ::CreateWindow(...) API to dynamic create a window in code, and specify the custom draw window as parent HWND. But we already has child controls layout in *.rc file, I just want to reuse them, without create HWND again. • Facebook email Permission, oath2, doesnt work?

  since the new Auth Dialog from Facebook (for my App & homepage), I cannot get the dialog to show that my homepage/app needs the users email when connection to my homepage/app. In the Auth-section of my app I've added "email" to the User & Friend Permissions. Also I've added it to the referal when someone clicks the "Login with facebook"-button. When someone clicks the Facebook-button, he/she redirects to a page which has the PHP-code with Facebook SDK PHP (latest). Here's how I generate the send-to-url for the dialog: $login_url = $facebook-getLoginUrl(array('req_perms' = 'email,publish_stream')); header("Location: ".$login_url); But when the Dialog pops up, the only permission request it does is "basic information". I need to request the Email. Am I stupid or is it a bug somehow? I've also recreated the App.

Type a descriptive name in the Name box, enter a comment describing the new workspace in the Comment box, and provide alternative Owner and Computer name values, as necessary. 4. • Cross domain iframe content load detection

  I have a rather interesting problem. I have a parent page that will create a modal jquery dialog with an iframe contained within the dialog. The iframe will be populated with content from a 3rd party domain. My issue is that I need to create some dialog level javascript that can detect if the content of the iframe loaded successfully and if it hasn't within a 5 second time frame, then to close the dialog and return the user to the parent page. I have researched numerous solutions and only two are of any true value. Get the remote site to include a javascript line of document.domain = 'our-domain.com'. Use a URL Fragment hack, but again I would need the request that the remote site able to modify the URL by appending '#some_value' to the end of the URL and my dialog window would have to poll the URL until it either sees it or times out. Are these honestly the only options I have to work with? Is there not a simpler way to just detect this? I have been researching if there's a way to poll for http response errors, but this still remains confined to the same restrictions. Any help would be immensely appreciated. Thanks

  I’m working on an interface in VB6 to interact with a sound editor to automate certain tasks mainly using the editor’s object handles and activating them through SendMessage/PostMessage. In general it works OK, except that the editor has some dialog boxes that open in modal mode and freeze everything on the interface, including the timers. Is there a practical way to get these dialog boxes to open modeless or to interact with them from the interface after they pop up? I tried an MDI form, but it also freezes along with everything else. The only way to override the modal mode of these boxes is to launch an independent applet beforehand to address the dialog boxes with a timer, but the process is somewhat cumbersome. All I need to do with the dialog boxes is click the OK button or hit the return key.

I've received a request to hide the underlines for the shortcuts if the dialog is in read only mode. Other than editing the label text at runtime (ugh) is there any way to remove them?   I need to install php-mcrypt on my CentOS 5.5 VPS, When I try yum install php-mcrypt, it says that it is set to be updated which implies that it is already installed. I looked in the /usr/lib/php/modules and cant find the .so file. Anyway I want to update it but yum is giving the following error, I am running PHP-FPM on Nginx.
