• Google Adword not working /conversion.js not found

  I'm currently working on a wordpress site. My task is just to add the conversion script in a thankyou page. I added the script here: http://www.livingedge.co.nz/thanks-for-getting-in-touch/ , unfortunately does not work. It says that a conversion.js was not found. See the attached screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/52ixQUzHKNxZ I added the conversion script on the footer put it in a conditional so that it will load only on the thakyoupage. I'm new to this and can't figure out what would be the possible cause of such problem. I tried adding the script in the header, on the page editor, on a form redirect. Q: What could be the possible cause of this issue?

• Proper chart scaling in Reporting Services 2005

  I'm developing a simple bar-chart in Reporting Services 2005 with a stored procedure as data-source. The values in this graph can be both positive and negative, and can span a very big range, and hence I cannot specify any non-dynamic scale that will work for all scenarios. The problem I'm facing is that the automatic scaling pretty much sucks. I get no line to show where the zero-point is, and the y-scale labels are from top to bottom: 8818 -191181 -391181 etc etc... So my question is, what is the best approach to make the scale more adapted to human reading? Is there any guide out there? Does reporting services 2008 handle this better? Also, moving away from Reporting Services is not really an option. I realize how to put values and expression in the max, min, and the gridline interval fields, although its more of a question what expressions I should put there.

• Searching for URL's Relative to Site Root in Javascript Source

  Hi, I am working on a web site with several other developers and we have had problems where people commit JavaScript code with AJAX calls that use URL's relative to the site root. An example would be /Home/Index which will not work if the site is hosted in a virtual directory. To get round the problem we use a $.url() method to convert it to a full path, e.g. $("#container").load($.url("/Home/Index")) I am trying to write a unit test that will search each JavaScript file and find places where the $.url method is not being used. The only problem is that I cannot seem to write a regex expression to do this. I have tried the following: (?!\$\.url\()"(/\w*)+" But this does not work. I cannot find a way to say that I don't want the $.url in front. Does anyone know if this is possible? Note that I need regular expressions that are compatible with .NET Thanks.

• Yet another URL prefix regex question (to be used in C#).

  Hi, I have seen many regular expressions for Url validation. In my case I want the Url to be simpler, so the regex should be tighter: Valid Url prefixes look like: http[s]://[www.]addressOrIp[.something]/PageName.aspx[?] This describe a prefix. I will be appending ?x=a&y=b&z=c later. I just want to check if the web page is live before accessing it, but even before that I want to make sure that it is properly configured. I want to treat bad url and host is down conditions differently, although when in doubt, I'd rather give a host is down message, because that is an ultimate test anyway. Hopefully that makes sense. I guess what I am trying to say - the regex does not need be too aggressive, I just want it to cover say 95% of the cases. This is C# - centric, so Perl regex extensions are not helpful to me; let's stick to the lowest common denominator. Thanks!

• Communication between c++ objects.

  This is an issue, that I have come acrosss earlier. Basically a c++ object has a member object that does some work, once the work is done , a notification needs to made to the parent. What is the most elegant solution to allow this communication. Does being in this position indicate a flaw with the design to begin with? • How to select random image of specific size using Django / Python?

  I've been using this little snippet to select random images. However I would like to change it to select only images of a certain size. I'm running into trouble checking against image size. If I use get_image_dimensions() I need to use a conditional statement, which then requires that I allow exceptions. So, I guess I need some pointers on just limiting by image dimensions. • Throw blank even-numbered/left pages

  I am trying to typeset a large document using ReportLab and Python 2.7. It has a number of sections (about 6 in a 1,000 page document) and I would like each to start on odd-numbered/right-hand page. I have no idea though whether the preceding page will be odd or even and so need the ability to optionally throw an additional blank page before a particular paragraph style (like you sometimes get in manuals where some pages are "intentionally left blank"). Can anyone suggest how this could be done, as the only conditional page break I can find works on the basis of the amount of text on the page not a page number. I also need to make sure that the blank page is included in the PDF so that double-sided printing works.

• How do I get regex support in excel via a function, or custom function?

  It appears that regex (as in regular expressions) is not supported in excel, except via VBA. Is this so, and is it is, are there any "open source" custom VBA functions that support regex. In this case I'm looking to extract complex pattern within a string, but any implementation of a custom VBA function that expose support of regex within the function itself would be of use. If you know of semi-related function such as the IS function, feel feel to comment, though I'm really looking for a full regular expression implementation that is exposed via functions.   Hi, If I define these variables: double x0, xn, h; int n; and I have this mathematical expression: h = (xn - x0)/n; Is it necessary that I cast n into double prior doing the division for maximum accuracy like in h = (xn - x0)/ (double) n; I wrote a program to check the above but both expressions give the same answers. I understand that C will promote the integer to double type as variables xn and x0 are of type double but strangely enough in a book, the second expression with casting was emphasized.   My problem is that I have too many files in single directory. I cannot "ls" the directory, cos is too large. I need to move all files in better directory structure. I'm using the last 3 digits from ID as folders in reverse way. For example ID 2018972 will gotta go in /2/7/9/img_2018972.jpg. I've created the directories, but now I need help with bash script. I know the IDs, there are in range 1,300,000 - 2,000,000. But I can't handle regular expressions. I wan't to move all files like this: /images/folder/img_2018972.jpg -> /images/2/7/9/img_2018972.jpg I will appreciate any help on this subject. Thanks!

• Apply a class to a <h1> based on the site url

  I'm new to PHP and want to apply a specific class to the title of my page depending on what part of the site the viewer is browsing. For instance, I want to apply the class "blog" to the if the viewer is at domain.com/blog OR domain.com/blog/post-1 so on and so forth BUT apply the class "pics" if they're viewing domain.com/pics or domain.com/pics/gallery-1 etc etc. I found something that could be modified to serve my needs using javascript here but I figured seeing as I'm using PHP already, it'd make more sense to keep this sort of thing server side. As I say, I'm new to PHP. I've experimented with some regular expressions, but to no avail.

• Exclude subexpression from regex in c++

  Suppose I was trying to match the following expression using regex.h in C++, and trying to obtain the subexpressions contained: /^((1|2)|3) (1|2)$/ Suppose it were matched against the string "3 1", the subexpressions would be: "3 1" "3" "1" If, instead it were matched against the string "2 1", the subexpressions would be: "2 1" "2" "2" "1" Which means that, depending on how the first subexpression evaluates, the final one is in a different element in the pmatch array. I realise this particular example is trivial, as I could remove one of the sets of brackets, or grab the last element of the array, but it becomes problematic in more complicated expressions. Suppose all I want are the top-level subexpressions, the ones which aren't subexpressions of other subexpressions. Is there any way to only get them? Or, alternatively, to know how many subexpressions are matched within a subexpression, so that I can traverse the array irrespective of how it evaluates? Thanks

My grammar is quite simple and made of following tokens and rules. Don't really need to go in their details here. • PHP, better to set the variable before if or use if/else?

  So a simple one that I just never could find a straight answer on. What is better (performance or otherwise): $var = false; If ($a == $b) { $var = true; } or If ($a == $b) { $var = true; } else { $var = false; } I've heard arguments for both ways. I find the first cleaner to ensure I have it set, and a little less code too. The pro being that you may only need to set it once without conditional. But the con being that if the argument is true, it gets set twice. I am assuming the second way is probably best practice

• Only strip commas surrounded by numbers in a string

  I am using StreamReader to read each line of a CSV file into a string. As I am processing each line, I need to strip out any commas that ONLY are surrounded by other numbers. For example, if the string was: "textfield1", "textfield2", "100.00", "1,070.00" I would need to only take the comma out of "1,070.00" from this entire string, resulting in: "textfield1", "textfield2", "100.00", "1070.00" Each string read from the CSV file can differ in number of fields, length, etc., so I need to use something (Regular Expressions maybe?) that looks at the entire string without hardcoding a location or blanket removal of all commas. Here is the approach I have been trying: StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(strInputFile); string nextLine = sr.ReadLine(); try { while ((nextLine = sr.ReadLine()) != null) { string rawtext = nextLine.Replace("[0-9]"+","+"[0-9]" , "[0-9]"+"[0-9]"); // ....rest of code } } This obviously doesn't work because I don't understand how to do this :) I am new at C# and inexperienced in Regex, so hopefully this is relatively simple.

  what is the best way to check the strength of a password in iOS development? I came across this post: What is the best way to check the strength of a password? but this is not iOS specific. My question is - Does Apple or third party libraries provide any libraries by default which I can use to check if the user entered a secure password? If not, then as the above post says, is using regular expressions the best way? Does Apple have any requirements which our app needs to implement to make sure user has a secure password? I am planning on using the keychain to store the password.

• I'm maintaining a java class that's 40K lines long.. problem?

  This may be a subjective question leading to deletion but I would really like some feedback. Recently, I moved to another very large enterprise project where I work as a C++ developer. I was aghast to find most classes in the project are anywhere from 8K to 50K lines long with methods that are 1K to 8K lines long. It's mostly business logic dealing with DB tables and data management, full of conditional statements to handle the use cases. Are classes this large common in large enterprise systems? I realize without looking at the code it's hard to make a determination, but have you ever worked on a system with classes this large?

• Beginners PHP / mySQL question

  I'm brand new to PHP & MySQL, and one function I'm creating needs to access a large table or database. I've created the database and it's currently in a MySQL table, which I'm accessing with no problem. The table is 11,000 rows in length, with 8 columns (all text less than 8 characters long) - it's static, and will never change. Without getting too particular, my users will hit a button which will trigger scripts to access the data, say 500 times or more. So in general would it be better practice to include all of this data in a big 'switch' or 'if... then' conditional right in my scripts, rather than opening and accessing the database connection hundreds, or maybe even thousands of times? It just seems like that might be a bottleneck waiting to happen. Thanks!

  Hi - Working on my first Wordpress site so I'm sure this is a really basic question. I'm struggling to write a conditional php statement that performs a certain action when a page is a child of a parent page. For example, rather than just specifying one page, as below, I'd like to specify all pages that have the 'About Us' page as a parent: <?php if (is_page('About Us')) echo 'Hello World!'; ?> I've tried the "child_of" function but it wasn't as straightforward as I'd hoped. • Any tools can randomly generate the source code according to a language grammar?

  A C program source code can be parsed according to the C grammar(described in CFG) and eventually turned into many ASTs. I am considering if such tool exists: it can do the reverse thing by firstly randomly generating many ASTs, which include tokens that don't have the concrete string values, just the types of the tokens, according to the CFG, then generating the concrete tokens according to the tokens' definitions in the regular expression. I can imagine the first step looks like an iterative non-terminals replacement, which is randomly and can be limited by certain number of iteration times. The second step is just generating randomly strings according to regular expressions. Is there any tool that can do this?

• How can I handle validation of non-latin script input in PHP?

  I am trying to adapt a php application to handle non-latin scripts (specifically: Japanese, simplified Chinese and Arabic). The app's data validation routines make frequent use of regular expressions to check input, but I am not sure how to adapt the \w character type to other languages without installing additional locales on the system (which I cannot rely on). Previous developers to have worked on the app have simply added needed characters to the regexes as the number of languages we supported grew (you frequently see "[\wÀÁÂÃÄÅÆÇÈÉ... etc" in the code), but I can't really do this for all the alphabets I need to support now. Does anybody out there have some advice on how to tackle this?
