• Problem with Maven in Spring roo

  I was trying to run the Wedding RSVP sample given with Spring Roo 1.0.0.RC3. I am running on Maven 2.2.1 and JDK 1.5.0_19, Java and M2 Home are properly set. Unfortunately none of the commands that involve Maven calls (example: "Perform test" or 'Perform eclipse") work and there is no error either. The cursor immediately returns on the roo command line. I also tried the steps at http://blog.springsource.com/2009/05/27/roo-part-2 but same problem. Did anybody face this issue?

  I have the following control template. I wish to set the source property for the image control in the control template using Template Binding. I've tried using a recursive CTE to generate this, however maybe a cursor would be better? or maybe a set of recursive functions will do the trick? Can this be done in a cte? consider the following table PrimaryKey ParentKey 1 NULL 2 1 3 6 4 7 5 2 6 1 7 NULL should yield PK 1 -2 --5 -6 --3 7 -4 where the number of - marks equal the depth, my primary difficulty is the ordering.

• How to connect to a legacy Informix database?

  I have to connect my app to a customer's Informix 7.2 legacy database. From what I was able to find out, in theory there should be a database service running on port 50000. The problem is that I cannot find any database service in the Operative System. So far I'm only able to use dbaccess and perform queries from the command line. I would like to use a database driver (such as http://code.google.com/p/ibm-db/) so my app can connect and query the database using a cursor, but since I cannot find any database service, apparently I can't... Am I missing something here? Are there options I'm not considering? Is it possible to have an Informix database in which the only interface is dbaccess?

  I am looking to find an best way to find a date from date ranges that may or may not be contiguous (I am trying to avoid a cursor, or a heavy function if possible). Lets say I have hotel guests that come and go (check in, check out). I want to find the date that a certain guest stayed their 45th night with us. The database we use records the data as so: Create Table #GuestLog( ClientId int, StartDate DateTime, EndDate DateTime) Here is some data Insert Into #GuestLog Values(1, '01/01/2010', '01/10/2010') Insert Into #GuestLog Values(1, '01/16/2010', '01/29/2010') Insert Into #GuestLog Values(1, '02/13/2010', '02/26/2010') Insert Into #GuestLog Values(1, '04/05/2010', '06/01/2010') Insert Into #GuestLog Values(1, '07/01/2010', '07/21/2010') So far I can only think of solutions that involve functions with temp tables and crazy stuff like that, I feel like I'm over thinking it. • Console App Mouse-Click X Y Coordinate Detection/Comparison

  I have a game that I am working on in a C# console application, purely as practice before going on to better methods. As opposed to using something such as a Windows Forms App, which has button functionality built in, I am endeavoring to grab the cursor position (which I know how to do) and compare it to a number of area's inside a console application as defined by perhaps pixel location, but I also do not know if there is some sort of built in unit of space other than pixels (this last bit is the part I am unable to figure). P.S. I know this is in general terms, with no code already provided, but I do not feel that it is needed as all I am asking for is a brief explanation of how to grab X Y coordinates inside a console application, and stick them in int variables. • Is this possible with Sql 2005 CTE?

  I have been working on a query that will return a suggested start date for a manufacturing line based on due date and the number of minutes needed to complete the task. There is a calendar table(LINE_ID, CALENDAR_DATE, SCHEDULED_MINUTES) that displays per manufacturing line, the number of minutes scheduled for that day. Example: (Usually 3 shifts worth of time scheduled per day, no weekends but can vary) 1, 06/8/2010 00:00:00.000, 1440 1, 06/7/2010 00:00:00.000, 1440 1, 06/6/2010 00:00:00.000, 0 1, 06/5/2010 00:00:00.000, 0 1, 06/4/2010 00:00:00.000, 1440 In order to get the suggested start date, I need to start with the due date and iterate downward through the days until i have accumulated enough time to complete the task. My Question can something like this be done with CTE, or is this something that should be handled by a cursor. Or... am i just going about this the wrong way completely??

• Global search box extension - how to make browser to start when suggestion picked.

  Hi, I'm implementing global search box extension (sth like SearchableDictionary sample in android sdk). Everything works fine - suggestions are displayed properly. Problem is that I want browser to start when user picks a suggestion. (each suggestion is a link) Columns of my cursor contain SearchManager.SUGGEST_COLUMN_INTENT_DATA, and I use that to pass http link. My searchable xml contains default intent action set to: android:searchSuggestIntentAction="android.intent.action.VIEW". But when user hits the suggestion, my application is started instead of browser. What am I missing? Regards!

  I want to start on a side project and here's my idea: Whenever the user's mouse is pressed down, I want a small ring around the cursor to show up. I'm mainly doing this to learn more about programming and get myself to think outside of work related materials. My questions are: 1) is there a good source I can reference to start a project that deals with something like this? 2) Is visual studio a sufficient software to create such an application?   Hi. I'm working on a pl sql stored procedure. What I need is to do a select, use a cursor and for every record build a string using values. At the end I need to write this into a file. I try to use dbms_output.put_line("toto") but the buffer size is to small because I have about 14 millions lines. I call my procedure from a unix ksh. I'm thinking at something like using "spool on" (on the ksh side) to dump the result of my procedure, but I don' know how to do it (if this is possible) Anyone has any idea? Thank alot. C.C.

  Hello all, I am using emacs and autotools, to write and compile c/c++ sources on linux. I am using gdb via GUD in emacs. I have defined for convenience: F7:compile, F10:gud-next, F11:gud-step, F5:gud-cont, F9:gud-tbreak, F8:gud-until, F4:gud-print. I am mainly interested in debugging c/c++ source code on linux from emacs and I would like to get the most gdb can give. Unfortunately I am using only F4 which prints the variable under cursor. So my question is how do you guys debug the source code ? What programs do you use ? What key bindings (functionality) do you use mostly ? What do you need the debugger to do for you ? • sqlite & python - only pulls the first result

  This is pretty strange (admitedly, this is my first attempt with python / sqlite), but I can seem to get all of the rows if I do a fetchAll(), but other than that - no matter what I try, always ends up in the db only returning the first row - the second iteration stops because a null is returned. Wondering if there is something wrong with how I am coding this up in python? • How do I find the current virtual terminal

  I am working around a problem in Ubuntu 10.04 where after resume, the mouse cursor disappears. This can be "fixed" by running chvt 1; chvt 7 in a script in /etc/pm/sleep.d, such that those commands run on thaw and resume. However, the X console is not always vt #7, so chvt 7 is wrong in those cases. What I would like to do is find out the current vt in the fix-up script and make sure I change back to that vt. How can I find the current vt? (tty(1) just reports "not a tty")

• Begin Viewing Query Results Before Query Ends

  OK, so say I have a table with 500K rows, then I ad-hoc query with unsupported indexing which requires a full table scan. I would like to immediately view the first rows returned while the full table scan continues. Then I want to scroll thru the next results. In the meantime, I would like to display the progress of the table scan, example: "SEARCHING.. FOUND 23 OF 500,000 ROWS SO FAR". If I scroll too far ahead, I want to display a message like: "REACHED LAST ROW IN LOOK-AHEAD BUFFER.. QUERY HAS NOT COMPLETED".. Can this be done? Maybe like: spawn/exec, declare scroll cursor, open, fetch, etc.?

  Hi Based on the following table ID Effort Name ------------------------- 1 1 A 2 1 A 3 8 A 4 10 B 5 4 B 6 1 B 7 10 C 8 3 C 9 30 C I want to check if the total effort against a name is less than 40 then add a row with effort = 40 - (Total Effort) for the name. The ID of the new row can be anything. If the total effort is greater than 40 then trucate the data for one of the rows to make it 40. So after applying the logic above table will be ID Effort Name ------------------------- 1 1 A 2 1 A 3 8 A 10 30 A 4 10 B 5 4 B 6 1 B 11 25 B 7 10 C 8 3 C 9 27 C I was thinking of opening a cursor, keeping a counter of the total effort, and based on the logic insert existing and new rows in another temporary table. I am not sure if this is an efficient way to deal with this. I would like to learn if there is a better way.

• Waiting for a background operation to complete

  I have been suffering from the all too common 'Waiting for a background operation to complete...' message in Visual Studio 2012 (Professional) for a while now but it has been fairly sporadic. Lately though, I am really struggling to use Visual Studio as pretty much whenever i try and do anything with any Razor views (mostly clicking to move the cursor) visual studio hangs and the above message appears for about a minute at a time. (If when its finished doing stuff i then click in the view again, the process repeats, and repeats, and repeats.....) I have searched high and low, and read loads of articles regarding this and peoples suggestions and tried changing indentation settings, resetting settings, etc but none have worked. Has anyone come across something else that may work as this is seriously impeding my ability to use visual studio and sadly provoking much cursing.
