  • Request.Browser.Platform not returning iPad, OSX, or Windows7

    I'm working on some advanced browser detection, and I've downloaded the MDBF browser file from CodePlex. Unfortunately my Request.Browser.Platform, along with a few other things is returning "Unknown" on both my iPad Mac OSX (Snow Leopard) and on Windows7 Does anyone know of a good advanced .browser file out there that does the same thing for non mobile devices as the MDBF does for mobile devices?

  • Proper two-level iPad UITableView

    I have an iPad app with split view. In the root view I need to make a two-level UITableView, so the UIWebView in the DetailView shows corresponding content. What I need is to make a two-level UITableView without editing, moving etc, so it can send the name of the selected row in the second level of the table to the DetailViewController.     For some reason, a choice for "Distribution" configuration is not showing up for building an app in the latest XCode 3.2.2 with iPhone SDK 3.2 when I'm trying to build an app for the iPad Any one else seeing this? I can set it to "Debug" or "Release" but there isn't even an option for Distribution.

    How do I format an NSURL (what path, or path generator function) so that I can display a downloaded local file (NOT part of the application NSBundle) for use offline? The idea is to snag an HTML file, clean it up and stash it in the iFoo application specific storage area, then later use UIWebView to display it. Next, I go off to RTFM about working with files on iFoo (iPhone / iPad) in general, but any fast-start tips are appreciated.

  • What's the best way to skin my iPhone app (similar to how the Notes app is skinned)?

    If you look at the Notes app on the iPad, you can see it uses all native iPhone controls, but they're "skinned" to look like a pad of paper. What's the best way to implement something similar to that? Could I use interface builder and simply change the background image for each of the controls, including the TableViews? The comments would obviously need to be pulled from a central web source - either a database or perhaps even simple flat files.   • Architecture Suggestions/Recommendations for a Web Application with Sub-Apps

    Hello. I’m starting to plan an architecture for a big web application, and I wanted to get suggestions and/or recommendations on where to begin and which technologies and/or frameworks to use. The application will be an Intranet-based web site using Windows authentication, running on IIS and using SQL Server and ASP.NET. It’ll need to be structured as a main/shell application with sub-applications that are “pluggable” based on some configuration settings. The main or shell application is to provide the overall user interface structure – header/footer, dynamically built tabs for each available sub-app, and a content area in which the sub-application will be loaded when the user clicks on the sub-application’s tab. So, on start-up of the main/shell application, configuration information will be queried from a database, and, based on the user and which of the sub-apps are available, the main or shell app would dynamically build tabs (or buttons or something) as a way to access each individual application. On start-up, the content area will be populated with the “home” sub-app. But, clicking on an sub-app tab will cause the content area to be populated with the sub-app corresponding to the tab. For example, we’re going to have a reports application, a display application, and probably a couple other distinct applications. On startup of the main/shell application, after determining who the user is, the main app will query the database to determine which sub-apps the user can use and build out the UI. Then the user can navigate between available sub-apps and do their work in each. Finally, the entire app and all sub-apps need to be a layered design with presentation, service, business, and data access layers, as well as cross-cutting objects for things such as logging, exception handling, etc. Anyway, my questions revolve around where to begin to plan something like this application. What technologies/frameworks would work best in developing a solution for this application? MVC? MVP? WCSF? EF? NHibernate? Enterprise Library? Repository Pattern? Others???? I know all these technologies/frameworks are not used for the same purpose, but knowing which ones to focus on is a little overwhelming. Which ones would be the best choice(s) for a solution? Which ones work well together for an end-to-end design? How would one structure the VS project for something like this? Thanks!

    I am using - (void)imagePickerController:(UIImagePickerController *)picker didFinishPickingMediaWithInfo:(NSDictionary *)info { } for imagepicker and using [picker dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES]; in iPad to dismiss the picker. also i tried using - (void)imagePickerControllerDidCancel:(UIImagePickerController *)picker;{ [picker dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES]; } to dismiss the picker once it done the work. BUt its not dimissing it. when i tap anywhere in the screen, than only it gets dismiss. What i am doing wrong to dismiss the imagepicker? Many thnkas

  • save sqlite3 file of my App

    I'm new with dealing with the .sqlite3 in iphone, I created a sqlite3 file in /Users/myLab/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/5.1/Applications/308C4355-D8EE-4524-A7F9-638DEB68B298/Documents/file.sqlite3 and I inserted the tables into it using Terminal.app and everything works ok with my app. but when I moved this application to another device, opened by xcode and trying to run it, I discovered that my tables are not found in this .sqlite3 file in another device. how can I save my tables in .sqlite3 file??
