  • Multiple Selections from Dropdown in Word 2011 Form

    Anyone know if there is a way to setup a Word form to allow the user to select multiple items from a dropdown list that are then displayed? For example, I need to setup a form to identify applicability of specific procedures to various levels of our organization. Since the listing of all departments under all divisions can be pretty lengthy, I was hoping for the ability to check off a division and then have a dropdown list on the same line to select the applicable departments (so the selections are specific to that division and not all listed on the form if that division is not applicable). First, I'm not seeing how to create a dropdown that would allow multiple selections. Beyond that, I don't know if that form element alone would then display all selected items or if that would require another element of some type. Anyone have any suggestions on this?     Hello, Hopefully this is the right place for this question. I have done a fair amount of research and yet to find anything that matches what I want. What I'm envisioning is the following. Let me know if any of you know of a program that will do what I want. Also it must be web-based anom user - fills out form - email gets sent to admin saying xyz has filled out form abc with links to approve/disapprove request. admin can also login and edit form and resent results to original submitter. Also once the admin approves/disapproves request the original submitter gets an approve/disapprove email. and you can search by date submitted, specific project/form, status of request(submitted, approved, disapproved). any ideas all on where I could find this? I started to look into drupal with workflows and actions but it just doesn't flow right for this

  • Filling up bounded form with information from another table while creating new record

    I have an excel sheet with information about each employee. I keep getting new updated spreadsheet every month. I have to create a database managing cases related to the employees. I have a database and the bounded form already created for the cases which also contain emp info fields. What I am trying to do is to only type in the emp id in the form and want the form to look up in the spreadsheet(which can be a table in the cases db) and populate other fields in the form and that information can go into the cases db. Can this be done?

  • jQuery Validation plugin: disable validation for specified submit buttons

    I have a form with multiple fields that I'm validating (some with methods added for custom validation) with Jörn Zaeffere's excellent jQuery Validation plugin. How do you circumvent validation with specified submit controls (in other words, fire validation with some submit inputs, but do not fire validation with others)? This would be similar to ValidationGroups with standard ASP.NET validator controls. My situation: It's with ASP.NET WebForms, but you can ignore that if you wish. However, I am using the validation more as a "recommendation": in other words, when the form is submitted, validation fires but instead of a "required" message displaying, a "recommendation" shows that says something along the line of "you missed the following fields.... do you wish to proceed anyways?" At that point in the error container there's another submit button now visible that can be pressed which would ignore the validation and submit anyways. How to circumvent the forms .validate() for this button control and still post? The Buy and Sell a House sample at http://jquery.bassistance.de/validate/demo/multipart/ allows for this in order to hit the previous links, but it does so through creating custom methods and adding it to the validator. I would prefer to not have to create custom methods duplicating functionality already in the validation plugin.   • jQuery ajaxSubmit ignored by IE8

    Hi there, I am combing the jQuery validation plug-in with the jQuery Form Plugin to submit the form via AJAX. This works perfectly in Firefox & Chrome, but (as usual) Internet Explorer is being a pain. For reasons that are alluding me, IE is ignoring the ajaxSubmit, as a result it submits the form in the normal fashion.   • Php, passing data between pages without using the url?

    I have a php page that has a form that asks for an e-mail. When you press the send button, it gets to another php page, which gets the form data and does its stuff. I need to then be able to go back to the old page (the one that contained the form) and give it some data so that it will be able to change itself and say "You've sent your e-mail successfully, and will not display the form. How do I do it?

  • iTextSharp renders image with poor quality in PDF

    Hello, I'm using iTextSharp to print a PDF document. Everything goes ok until I have to print the company logo in it. First I noticed that the logo had poor quality, but after testing with several images, I realize that was the iTextSharp rendering it poorly. The test I did to say this was to print the PDF using my code and then edit the document with Acrobat 8.0 and I drew an image. Then printed the two documents and saw the noticeable difference. My question is that if anyone know if this can be due to a scaling problem where I'm failing to tell iTextSharp how it must render the image or is an iTextSharp limitation.     Hi, I've been building a simple ticket system and it's all done and working except for when it receives PDF files via email that have been sent using quoted-printable encoding. I've tried using quoted_printable_decode(), the quoted-printable.decode stream filter, the later just created an empty file. I've also tried using $input = preg_replace('/=([a-f0-9]{2})/ie', "chr(hexdec('\\1'))", $input). However the PDF file is always unreadable. I've compared the original with the rebuilt version and there are a lot of 00 missing and some other characters replaced. original file rebuilt file

    I'm searching for a tool that will take a source directory and produce a single PDF containing the source code, preferably with syntax highlighting. I would like to read the PDF on my phone, in order to get familiar with a code-base, or just to see what I can learn by reading a lot of code. I will most often be reading Ruby. I would prefer if the tool ran on Linux. I don't mind paying for a tool if it is particularly good. Any suggestions?

Currently we are only validating on the server side which will create an unordered list of validation errors with the class .error_message. Once the form has been successfully submitted i want to close the window.     Hi, In our applications we make html documents as reports and exports. But now our customer wants a button that saves that document on their pc. The problem is that the document includes images.     How do I add errors to the top of a form after I cleaned the data? I have an object that needs to make a REST call to an external app (google maps) as a pre-save condition, and this can fail, which means I need my users to correct the data in the form. So I clean the data and then try to save and add to the form errors if the save doesn't work: if request.method == "POST": #clean form data try: profile.save() return HttpResponseRedirect(reverse("some_page", args=[some.args])) except ValueError: our_form.errors.__all__ = [u"error message goes here"] return render_to_response(template_name, {"ourform": our_form,}, context_instance=RequestContext(request)) This failed to return the error text in my unit-tests (which were looking for it in {{form.non_field_errors}}), and then when I run it through the debugger, the errors had not been added to the forms error dict when they reach the render_to_response line, nor anywhere else in the our_form tree. Why didn't this work? How am I supposed to add errors to the top of a form after it's been cleaned?
