  • How to make iPhone application accept incorrect server certificate but only specific one?

    I need to work with private HTTPS API and client has incorrect certificate on the host. Certificate is for www.clienthost.com and I'm working with api.clienthost.com. So I need to connect via HTTPS to api.clienthost.com ignoring incorrect certificate but still make sure it is the one for www.clienthost.com and not something else. I found this answer: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/933331/how-to-use-nsurlconnection-to-connect-with-ssl-for-an-untrusted-cert and it seems to solve half of my problem but I'm trying to figure out how to still check certificate for host is one I expect to see and not different.

  • Must I loop to search results for a specific value?

    I have a table in the database: name Opinion Tim Tim has an opinion John other random text Dan Dan's random text Al Al says something else I call this data and get it back in getRecords.lastResult To access John's opinion, I could use: getRecords.lastResult[1].opinion But that's only because I know that John is the second record (record 1), but this may change. So the right way is to search through the results to first find the record index for John, then access his opinion. My guess is I need some sort of a loop? Is there an easier way to search for John directly without a loop?

  • How can I keep one specific article always on top on the front page?

    On my joomla website, I'd like to have a "about our company" article always be the first article on the front page. I want the other articles to shift down in position as new articles are added, but to keep the "about our company" one constantly on top. I tried setting the order of that article on the front page manager to -1, but it still shifted down when I added a new article. Any ideas?

  • How to prevent git merge to merge a specific file from trunk into a branch and vice versa

    Hi, I am using git while developing VHDL code. I am doing development on a component in a git branch: comp_dev. The component interface does not change, just the code inside the component. Now, this component already exists in the master branch, but in a more stable version, enough for other developers to be able to use the component. The other developers also have branches for their work, and when their code is good they merge their branches back to master. At this stage I need to be able to merge all the changes from master back to my comp_dev branch, which is basically no problem, but sometimes the stable version of the component I am working on do change as a part of other designers work, but not the interface. I have to do manual git merge -s ours on that particular file every time I want to merge, otherwise I get a conflict that I need to solve manually, throwing out their work. The same happens if I want to merge changes in other files back to master. If I forget to do git merge -s ours src/rx/state_machine.vhd comp_dev before I do a git merge, then I end up with either a manual merge, or I accidentally merge an unstable version of the state machine on top of the stable one. Is there a way to temporarily exclude one file from merges?

I got this work, this will uncheck all checkbox for me. $('span.chkIncRows input').attr('checked', false); This works for me, if I want to uncheck row #2 checkbox from the repeater, without passing row number. $('span.chkIncRows input')[2].checked =false; I don't know the syntax to uncheck the checkbox, if i want to pass in the row number into checkbox.     Hello everybody. I'm working on a program that will need to delete a folder (and then re-instantiate it) at a certain hour of the day, and this hour will be given by the user. The hour will most likely be during the night, because that's when nobody is accessing the folder (it's outside working hours). Is there a way to trigger that event at that certain hour? I know about timers, but is there an easier way to do this without a timer that ticks and checks to see what time it is? Thanks.

  • jQuery Selectors: how to access an a tag, whose span has a specific class?

    I'm messing around with FullCalendar jQuery calendar, and qTips, so that I can display more information about the event upon mouseover. I've added a summary element to the FullCalendar js, and also my server code. I then added a new qTip in the eventMouseover method, based on the span class, which works prefectly. However, if the event stretches over a couple of days, the qTip only works (because it is a span tag), on the text itself, not the entire blue strip. What I want to do is to assign the qTip to the a tag, and make the a tags display block. This works currently: eventMouseover: function(event){ $('span[class=fc-event-title]').each(function() { if( $(this).text() == event.title ) { $(this).qtip({ content: event.summary, style: { border: { width: 1, radius: 5, color: '#6699CC' }, width: 200 } }); } }); but I can't figure out how to select the a tag where it contains a span with class of fc-event-title.     I am building a trading portfolio management system that is responsible for production, optimization, and simulation of non-high frequency trading portfolios (dealing with 1min or 3min bars of data, not tick data). I plan on employing Amazon web services to take on the entire load of the application. I have four choices that I am considering as language. a) Java b) C++ c) C# d) Python Here is the scope of the extremes of the project scope. This isn't how it will be, maybe ever, but it's within the scope of the requirements: Weekly simulation of 10,000,000 trading systems. (Each trading system is expected to have its own data mining methods, including feature selection algorithms which are extremely computationally-expensive. Imagine 500-5000 features using wrappers. These are not run often by any means, but it's still a consideration) Real-time production of portfolio w/ 100,000 trading strategies Taking in 1 min or 3 min data from every stock/futures market around the globe (approx 100,000) Portfolio optimization of portfolios with up to 100,000 strategies. (rather intensive algorithm) Speed is a concern, but I believe that Java can handle the load. I just want to make sure that Java CAN handle the above requirements comfortably. I don't want to do the project in C++, but I will if it's required. The reason C# is on there is because I thought it was a good alternative to Java, even though I don't like Windows at all and would prefer Java if all things are the same. Python - I've read somethings on PyPy and pyscho that claim python can be optimized with JIT compiling to run at near C-like speeds.... That's pretty much the only reason it is on this list, besides that fact that Python is a great language and would probably be the most enjoyable language to code in, which is not a factor at all for this project, but a perk. To sum up: - real time production - weekly simulations of a large number of systems - weekly/monthly optimizations of portfolios - large numbers of connections to collect data from There is no dealing with millisecond or even second based trades. The only consideration is if Java can possibly deal with this kind of load when spread out of a necessary amount of EC2 servers. Thank you guys so much for your wisdom.

    Suppose I have three models: Student, SchoolClass, and DayOfWeek. There is a HABTM relationship between Student and SchoolClass, and between SchoolClass and DayOfWeek. What I'd like to do is find all school classes belonging to a given student that meet on Monday. Now I suppose I could do something like: @student = Student.find(:student_id) @student_classes = @student.school_classes.find(:all) @student_classes_on_monday = Array.new @student_classes.each do |student_class| if student_class.day_of_week.include?("Monday") @student_classes_on_monday << student_class end end But there has to be a more elegant way. Can you help me find it?
