    I just got the new version of safari y downloaded because my mac tell me there was new version that I should be getting. but when I try to run my this new version of the aplication .nothing happends¡ I mean the program seems to be working but nothing apears in the screen and so when I try to see my top sites a little window show up but it just dont show anything. then 3 seconds later the program shut down¡ I dont know why is happening this Im not so a expert in computers but this really is away of all I see on safari and on mac I got Mac OS X version 10.5.8 2.66ghz intel core 2 duo 4gb 1067 MHz DDR3

  • Will this RAM work well in an iMac?

    I want to increase the RAM of my 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 24" iMac. I currently have 1GB of RAM DDR2 SDRAM 667 MHz. I really want to upgrade, but know nothing about RAM or hardware in general...   • IIS7 80 port outside doesn't work

    I have created web site, added to IIS 7, in the binding set up host name as "mysite.com". (here "mysite.com" is my registered domain that points to my IP address) So when I assigned port 8095 and open site as mysite.com:8095 it succesfully opens on my local pc and outsite my network pc, but if I set up port 80 there, http://mysite.com opens only on my pc, but not in outside pc. Firewall is disabled. How to resolve that problem, please help!?

  • Brother ink printer: vertical adjustment of alignment does not work

    I have a brother mfc-5440cn and tried to adjust the vertical alignment with the result that the printing quality now is very poor. The printer prints a small schadow next to each letter :-( I tried to re-adjust the alignment, but for the 600dpi settings, there is no pattern that matches the 0-pattern (you know what I mean when you've once adjsuted a brother printer :-) Is there a way to make a factory reset?

  • Imagemagick apparently correctly configured, still won't work under IIS 7.5 + PHP 5.3.2

    I have managed to get imagemagick working (tested using the command line example on their website) It also appears that the php extension is correctly installed: I can see it listed in my phpinfo(); list. However, when I try to run the following code: $im = new imagick( 'examples.jpg' ); $im->thumbnailImage( 200, 0); $im->writeImage( 'a_thumbnail.jpg' ); The execution stops at the second line, because it cannot find the thumbnailImage method. What I can think of is that some user doesn't have enough privileges to access/run something else, but I obviously cannot give user access to everything. Another possibility is that the PHP extension I'm using is not the suitable one for the latest imagemagick distribution.

  • Some Emails incoming to Outlook 2007 are blank, same emails work fine on webmail, iphone, etc

    This is a pretty easy problem to describe. Basically users who have just been upgraded to Outlook 2007 (yeah I know 2010 is out), are not receiving SOME emails (from outside our domain, ie hotmail, yahoo). Receiving is not the correct word, these emails come in, along with their attachments, subjects, to/from line, etc. But the body is blank. If the same user goes into their webmail, iphone, blackberry instead, they can read the message fine. It's clear to me that something in Outlook 2007 is not generating the body correctly, so it just strips it. I just don't know WHY. Our mail server was recently upgraded to Exchange 2010, users on 2010 running outlook 2003 are working fine, it's just the random emails for users using 2007. I hope I made that clear enough, thank you for any future help guys. EDIT: I don't see rft, but i swear I've seen it before.     I have setup a simple htaccess redirect which looks like this (this is the whole .htaccess file): Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine On Redirect 301 /something http://something.com/something.php If I then load the site which contains this .htaccess, ie, myredirectsite.com/something I end up with the following 404: The requested URL /something was not found on this server. Apache/2.2.3 (Red Hat) Server at myredirectsite.com Port 80 And the logs: [Tue Jul 10 14:25:46 2012] [error] [client xx.xx.xxx.xx] File does not exist: /home/sites/scp/something Something is not a file, and something does not exist. I have assumed I could use Redirect the same as a Rewrite but it looks like the redirect needs to be for a file that actually exists? I created the file 'something' and it just attempts to load the blank file. No redirect. What am I missing in getting this working?

I give the permission, Chrome opens but could not connect to the Internet. There is no error in the opened page. But when I try to connect to internet via IE, it works. I've been experiencing this issue since yesterday, I was able to use Chrome before.

    I dont use google maps much, but I was using it today and I clicked the "Show my location" button for the first time, then firefox asked for permission and I clicked "share my location", google maps showed my location pretty accurate. But, how does this system really works? I mean how can google know where I live? I am connecting to the internet with a VPN, so my "public IP" is not from my country, but from sweden, also I use linux and I change the mac of my wireless device, but google still show my location. I know I can disable this feature setting firefox about:config geo.enabled to false, but I am curious about how google can know where I live even when I dont have a real mac address and my IP is not from my real country. Basically I'd like to know if this feature works only because of code that exists in chrome and firefox (which spies my system)? I am worried about anyone knowing where I live, I mean... where is my privacy? Part of the fun about the internet is remaining anonymous.

  • NFS on top of GFS2 - does it work?

    We're currently using a NoSQL derivative called Splunk to receive our data. The software supports something called "search head pooling" in which the job-dispatching engine is housed on several servers which share a common storage point. Originally our intention was to use a clustered filesystem like GFS2 because of low latency, stability, and ease of setup. We set up GFS2, and it's working with no issues. However when trying to run the software, it's trying to create lock files, and a bunch of other things that their support team can't quite explain. Ultimate feedback from them was that they only support NFS. Our network administration team heavily frowns on NFS (lack of stability, file lock issues, etc). So, I was thinking about the possibility of setting up NFS on each server in the cluster to act as a wedge layer between the GFS2 filesystem and the software. Basically configure each server to export the GFS2 filesystem's mountpoint via NFS, and then tell each server to connect to that NFS share. That way we aren't introducing any single-points-of-failure should a dedicated NFS server go down, but the vendor gets their "required" NFS share. I'm just brainstorming ways around, so please tear this apart :)

Lets say my public IP is 1.2.3.4, my local IP is 192.168.0.10 and my domain is example.com I am running CentOS on a virtual machine (Parallels Desktop for Mac) with a LAN card reserved for it, so it gets Ip directly from the router. I have ports 80,443,53 forwarded to 192.168.0.10. Both Mac OS and CentOs firewalls are Off.     RE: Putting this out there in case someone else runs into this issue. The intel chipset is on-board. I discovered the reason for the crappy resolution in windows 7 was that the memory to share with the video card was set to 1MB in the BIOS.     I bought a new desktop PC (eMachine ET1331G-03W from WalMart) with windows 7 installed, but I can not access internet by connecting to my existing wireless router(LinkSys BEFW11S4) with wired cable. Though all other existing desktops and laptops have no problem connecting to the same router. However, the new desktop PC works fine and able to connect to internet if I bypass the router and directly hook up with the cable modem. At new PC when connecting to the router, I got the below information by typing ipconfig, the IP address looks wrong to me: autoconfiguration IPv4 Address: 169.254.71.140 subnet mask: 255.255.0.0 default gateway: (empty) NetBIOS over Tcpip: Enabled Typing ipconfig at all other desktop and laptop have values like below, which are good to me: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.140 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1 The wireless router was on 192.168.1.1, I do not know why the new desktop got 169.254.71.140 IP? It should have something like 192.168.1.xxx, and it was configured to automatically get IP by DHCP. I have tried to switch cables,power off cable modem, router and reboot new pc many times and got no luck. So I believe this is only an issue related to router or new pc configuration. Can someone help me figure out the issue?

    I'm trying to implement password complexities on my pdc. It's a samba PDC with openLDAP backend. I tried cracklib-check but it looks like that I should have a decent and localize version of password library since the library out there usually comes in english. I also have another consideration that we will allow users to use any kind of password - even though it's dictionary based - as long as their passwords integrated with low/upper alphabet, digits, and other characters such as '$' or '_' (pam_cracklib.so calls them as classes). So here is my /etc/pam.d/common-password: #password requisite pam_pwcheck.so nullok cracklib password requisite pam_cracklib.so minclass=4 reject_username ##password requisite pam_cracklib.so \ ## dcredit=-1 ucredit=-1 lcredit=-1 ocredit=-1 reject_username password optional pam_gnome_keyring.so use_autht_ok password required pam_unix2.so use_authtok nullok The first commented line (with #) was the default configuration of openSuse 11.3. The 2nd/3rd (with leading ##) is another configuration I use when minclass=4 line is commented out. By the way, I have 'check password script' = /usr/local/sbin/crackcheck -d /usr/share/cracklib/pw_dict and passdb backend = ldapsam:ldap://127.0.0.1 parameters in smb.conf and cracklib-check works fine too. So here is the test I conduct. I logon to windows and then change my password. Sometimes it works fine that it trows error message - which what I wanted, but simple password with only lower alphabets can pass windows change password. Maybe I should make a new library which incorporates local vocabularies, but a guy out there (raise your hand please if you read this :) ) also experienced the same trouble with english word. Besides, what we really want is to let user to choose 2 or 3 format password out of 4 classes. Is there a bug or something with pam module in openSuse 11.3? Thank you in advance. Regards, Mario

  • oracle virtualbox doesn't work for host Kubuntu since Lucid Lynx 10.04

    I have a thinkpad edge 14 core i3 2.4 ghz and 4g ram; I have tried kubuntu 10.04, 10.10, 11.10, 12.04 and 12.10 (all x64 architecture); Both oracle and ose virtualbox only works properly to install XP and windows 7 quest system on kubuntu 10.04; For every other kubuntu release since, the guest installation goes as far as formatting the virtual drive, freezes at this step, and doesn't even go as far as copying files to hard-drive to begin installation. But virtualbox has not stopped responding to commands; I can kill that one specific window with the problem installation ("machine" - "close" - "power off the machine") and start over again without having to force-kill virtualbox application. If anyone knows how I can go about addressing this problem, any help you can provide would be very much appreciated. Thank You.

    I have simple server Windows 2008 Standart SP2 with Exchange 2007 with apply SP1. Only one DC and one Exchange server (not exist Edge) in the same server. I have first distribution group by name "[email protected]" with 10 users. Working with internal and external mail correctly. I have second distribution group by name "[email protected]" with 3 users. Working with internal mail correctly, but external mail delivery failed 2 from 3 users. Only 1 users proclaims that external mail delivered correctly. Those 3 users they are too member of distribution group [email protected]" . I am not found in the eventlog any problem with Exchange server. Any user and any distribution group not check the box "Require that all senders are authenticated." Any ideas on how to solve the problem?

  • Backlight dimming don't work

    My Packard Bell EasyNote TS11HR notebook does not have an option for dimming the display backlight. At night, my eyes begin to hurt because of the strong light from the screen. My laptop is 2-3 months old and I am sure it has worked before. When I click on the battery icon in the notification area, it says in my language (Danish): "the setting for light does possibly reduce the life of the battery". However, I cannot dim the backlight. I have tried downloading programs for dimming the screen but they only make the screen darker, instead of dimming the backlight. I have tried updating my drivers and looking in the BIOS for a setting. I also plan to use an Ubuntu LiveCD to try controlling it. As of now though, the backlight is locked at maximum. Any ideas?

    Hi, I'm trying to shrink an Windows 7 XP Mode VHD file with little success. I've been trying to use VhdResizer. When I select my VHD file, it says "VhdExpand only supports fixed and dynamic VHD files". My XP Mode VHDs are dynamic files. Does anyone have any idea why it is failing? Failing that, does anyone have a process which I can use to shrink my XP mode VHD files? Thanks.

    I'm trying to complete Redmine's feature request #2693: Use Redmine.pm to authenticate for any directory (1). I have not much knowledge on all these things and need help. Redmine uses mod_perl module Redmine.pm for authentication & authorization. This module defines several custom configuration directives. I've successfully modified patch from (1) and it works when all config is in <Location>: <Location /digischrank/test> AuthType basic AuthName "Digischrank Test" Require valid-user PerlAccessHandler Apache::Authn::Redmine::access_handler PerlAuthenHandler Apache::Authn::Redmine::authen_handler RedmineDSN "DBI:mysql:database=SomedaTaBAse;host=localhost" RedmineDbUser "SoMeuSer" RedmineDbPass "SomePaSS" RedmineProject "digischrank" </Location> But when I move one of these directives (RedmineProject, see (1)) in .htaccess file, Redmine.pm doesn't see it! I've tried to change <Location> to <Directory> and add AllowOverride All. Directives from .htaccess is visible, but remaining ones from <Directory> - not. I don't want to move all directives to each .htaccess. When I add <Location> in addition to <Directory>, again - only directives from <Location> are visible. As far as I know, directives should be merged. I miss something?
