  • JSF: attach rich:toggleControl to radio buttons or select items.

    Has anyone had any success attaching a rich:toggleControl component to a radio button component (h:selectOneRadio) or alternatively any of its children select items (in this case s:enumItem). Basic code example: <h:selectOneRadio value="#{backingValue}"> <s:enumItem enumValue="VAL_1" itemLabel="Value One" /> <s:enumItem enumValue="VAL_2" itemLabel="Value Two" /> <s:convertEnum /> </h:selectOneRadio> The ideal thing would be to attach the toggle control to the enumItems so I could have it switch to a particular state. However at this point I'd be happy if the toggle control can just be attached to the selectOneRadio. I've tried the toggle control as a child of the selectOneRadio and enumItems; neither works. I've also tried wrapping the toggleControl around the selectOneRadio, the toggle control works in this case but the radio buttons don't :(

    I have an application running on Websphere Application Server 6.0 and it crashes nearly every day because of Out-Of-Memory. From verbose GC is certain there are the memory leaks(many of them) Unfortunately the application is provided by external vendor and getting things fixed is slow & painful process. As part of the process I need to gather the logs and heapdumps each time the OOM occurs. Now I'm looking for some way how to automate it. Fundamental problem is how to detect OOM condition. One way would be to create shell script which will periodically search for new heapdumps. This approach seems me a kinda dirty. Another approach might be to leverage the JMX somehow. But I have little or no experience in this area and don't have much idea how to do it. Or is in WAS some kind of trigger/hooks for this? Thank you very much for every advice!

So I want to see some sample app grabing audio and video streams from Phone, Synchronizing them, encoding somehow, and sending LIVE stream to server. I know how to display custom error messages on a form i.e. You cannot go any further until the following errors are fixed : login name not known! I want to display a message which will say: your email has been sent! after I send an email. I have been told that I should display this message through the flash. I am unsure on how to do this, any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Starting new transaction in Spring bean

    We have: @Transactional(propagation = Propagation.REQUIRED) public class MyClass implementes MyInterface { ... MyInterface has a single method: go(). When go() executes we start a new transaction which commits/rollbacks when the method is complete - this is fine. Now let's say in go() we call a private method in MyClass that has @Transactional(propagation = Propagation.REQUIRES_NEW. It seems that Spring "ignores" the REQUIRES_NEW annotation and does not start a new transaction. I believe this is because Spring AOP operates on the interface level (MyInterface) and does not intercept any calls to MyClass methods. Is this correct? Is there any way to start a new transaction within the go() transaction? Is the only way to call another Spring managed bean that has transactions configured as REQUIRES_NEW? Update: Adding that when clients execute go() they do so via a reference to the interface, not the class: @Autowired MyInterface impl; impl.go();

    I am writing an eclipse plugin. How do I get the various images from eclipse library? So I don't have have keep a local set of images for the standard entities, e.g classes, interfaces, junits, etc. EDIT : I used PlatformUI.getWorkbench().getSharedImages().getImage(ISharedImages.IMG_OBJ_FILE) from the article : http://www.eclipse.org/articles/Article-Using%20Images%20In%20Eclipse/Using%20Images%20In%20Eclipse.html.   • Killing Mysql processes staying in sleep command.

    Hey I am connecting a MYSQL database through hibernate and i seem to have processes that are not being killed after they are finished in the session. I have called flush and close on each session but when i check the server the last processes are still there with a sleep command. This is a new problem which i am having and was not the case yesterday. Is there any way i can ensure the killng of theses processes when i am done with a session.     I'm using vlcj to play video, but the video doesn't display on some computers(i tested in 4 and worked on 2, all windows), on 1 it displays the button but not the video and on the other it just display a gray background without the button.   • Messaging strategies to connect different systems

    I have a system to handle Applications online and a different system to send SMS/Email notifications to applicants on completion using web services. I can't guarantee the availability of the SMS/Email gateway. Option 1 After an application is complete, place a message on a JMS queue. A Message Driven bean receives the message and make a call for the web service, if it fails leave the message on the queue. I suspect (please correct if incorrect) that if the gate way is offline the continuosly try to send the message which might use up valuable resources. Can the above option be refined are are there any other messaging strategies that can be used?

However, my coworkers disliked this very much. Is this a harmful practice? Is there any reason to do it?
