  I am binding a data grid to a collection of Task objects.   i' ve a problem in doing my final project... i'm having trouble with how to save multiple wav files into 1 wav file.. let's take an example: i have 3 wav files which are the syllables of the word "hospital" : "hos.wav", "pi.wav", and "tal.wav" (sorry if i'm wrong in determining the syllables of the words).. each of those syllable wav files contains utterances of the syllables of the word "hospital" respectively.. my task is to merge those files so that the word hospital could be reproduced from those files. and then to save the merged file to be a new wav file, let say "hospital.wav"..I've done my first task, but not with my second task... does anyone can help me? thx b4..

• Get Instance from StructureMap by Type Name

  Is there any way to request an instance from the StructureMap ObjectFactory by the string name of the type? For example, it would be nice to do something like this: var thing = ObjectFactory.GetInstance("Thing"); The use case here is a messaging scenario in which the message is very generic and contains only the name of a task. The handler receives the message, gets the task name from the message and retrieves the Type of task runner from a configuration database. StructureMap scans all the assemblies in a directory and one of them will contain the Type returned from the config database which then needs to be instantiated. The other possibility is to grab a Type instance by doing the following: var type = Type.GetType("Thing"); But the problem there is the assembly may or may/not be loaded in the AppDomain so that reflection call isn't always possible.

  As part of my Ant build process, I'd like to upload files to a webserver via HTTP Post. Ant only comes with an HTTP Get task. However, Ant Contrib seems to have an HTTP Post task. The problem is that it doesn't have any authentication (like get does) or any way to specify a file upload (despite what the docs say, "rawFile" is not part of the distro). My question is: does Ant Contrib's Post task actually support what I want, but in a non-obvious way (perhaps I have to do it by hand)? Or is there some other way to do this?

• How do I increase timeout for a cronjob/crontab?

  I have written a script that gets data from solr for which date is within the specified period, and I run the script using as a daily cron. The problem is the cronjob does not complete the task. If I manually run the script (for the same time period), it works well. If I reduce the specified time period, the script runs from the cron as well. So my guess is cronjob is timing out while running the script is there is much data to process. How do I increase the timeout for cronjob? PS - 1. The script I am running in cronjob is a bash script which runs a python script.

  We have been using InRule for our Rule needs we have found that it does not scale well and so are investigating the Windows Work Flow. Within InRule we could configure pretty much have any task for example our sql scripts and stored procedures where all part of a separate rule config file, I am wondering if there is a similar functionality within windows work flow where I could just call a declarative task and pass it a bunch of parameters – This task should contain the sql script I would be executing , we should be able to change the script at runtime without recompilation to the WF code. Is this possible in Windows Work flow – How can I accomplish this within work flow. Additionally for sql execution within Work Flow, how does it get the connection string. Should it be passed from the calling program – is passing it as input parameter from the Calling app via the Dictionary object the best way or can the work flow code have visibility to my calling program app.config and get the connection string ?

• Magento: Rebuilding Flat Catalog Programmatically

  I am using a cron to import inventory changes nightly. When I try to change a product's information (price, etc) I get the following error: Column not found: 1054 Unknown column 'e.display_price_group_0' in 'field list' I can fix this by clicking "Rebuild Flat Catalog Product" in the Cache Management panel. I setup a cron to do this programmatically using the following code: Mage :: getResourceModel( 'catalog/product_flat_indexer' ) -> rebuild(); I don't get any errors when I run the script, but the "Column not found" error persists. Does anyone know how I can rebuild the flat catalog other than through the admin interface?

  Hi all, I am attempting to compile my Silverlight control project with Nant without luck. Since my project contains XAML files, I am not sure if Nant is capable of generating the .g.cs files from the XAML file to be compiled into the project. I have come across posts where people suggest using the MsBuild task. Is there a way to avoid using the MsBuild task and compile the project using just Nant? I am not against using the MsBuild task. It runs myFunc1() but never finishes it nor does it ever call myFunc2() However, if I call onTimerComplete() directly, everything works. What's the deal here?

  I have two different objects: contracts, and task orders. My requirements specify that in order to view the Details for either object, the Url should be "http://.../Contract/Details" or "http://.../TaskOrder/Details" depending on which type. They are both very similar and the details pages are almost identical, so I made a class that can either be a contract or a task order, and has a variable "objectTypeID" that says which type it is. I wrote the action "Details" in the task order controller, but now I want to call that from the contract controller instead of recopying the code. So is there any way to have the url still say ".../Contract/Details" but call the action in the TaskOrder controller instead? I tried using TaskOrderController TOController = new TaskOrderController(); TOController.Details(id); This would have worked except that I can't use the HttpContext.Session anymore, which I used several times in the action.

• How do I run a ruby script, that I put in my /lib/tasks/ directory in my Rails app, once?

  Eventually I would like to get to setting it up as a Rake task and do a cron job, but for right now...all I want to do is take my ruby script that used to work as a standalone script and have it work within my Rails app. I renamed the file to be .rake instead of .rb and tried doing rake my_script at the command-line, but that gave me this error message: rake aborted! Don't know how to build task 'my_script' (See full trace by running task with --trace) How do I run this script within my Rails environment? This is the first time I am doing something like this, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  I have created an SSIS package to connect to multiple SQL servers, create a database, a table and a stored procedure. The package also creates a job and schedules it to run every 5 minutes. The requirement is to collect performance metrics. I am using an ado object variable to get the server names and all the above tasks are in a for each loop and everything works fine. Now the problem: I need to create a data flow task, which will connect to each of these servers in turn, copy the performance metrics data over to a central server and purge the source table. I am unable to get this task to work. This task fails with "Unable to obtain Connection" error. Any help will be greatly appreciated. SQL Server Version : 2005 Thanks, Raj

If a task has ([A-Z]) next to, that defines the task's priority.   Hi Stackers! I'm building an app that needs to send out notifications to users depending on user definable "notifications". So the notifications are not per event. They are arbitrary. A cron job should query the database and send out emails when it finds an event with matching criterion. The is a scheduling app. So naturally, one of the criterion is time. I think I've figured it out, but I'm sure there are better ideas out there as it seems to be a fairly common thing to do. I think I'll limit the users ability to "minutes before hand" to get notified as opposed to seconds or hours. So I have an eventA and notificationA. notificationA should be triggered if an event is due within 45 minutes. So eventA starts at 17:30. The user should be notified at 16:45. But the cron job might not run exactly at 00 seconds. So when the difference is not 45 minutes and 0 seconds it is, say, 45 minutes and 5 seconds. Notification time is past. Email doesn't get sent. User misses event. Shugar. We should also take into account that the cron job might take a long time to run. So maybe we should only trigger it every 5 minutes. So we need a bigger interval maybe. So then my guess would be to say that: if ((eventDueTime - now notificationTimeValue - interval) && (eventDueTime - now < notificationTimeValue + interval)) sendTheFrikinNotificationAlready(); It seems kind of risky if the there are thousands of notifications to send out. I guess I could make a thread for each notification and then a thread for each event that matches the criterion. That might help. Does that make sense? Any other ideas? Thanks!

• How do I automatically rebuild the Sphinx index under django-sphinx?

  I just setup django-sphinx, and it is working beautifully. I am now able to search my model and get amazing results. The one problem is that I have to build the index by hand using the indexer command. That means every time I add new content, I have to manually hit the command line to rebuild the search index. That is just not acceptable. I could make a cron job that automatically runs the indexer command every so often, but that's far from optimal. New data won't be indexed until the cron runs again. In addition, the indexer will run unnecessarily most times as my site doesn't have data being added very often. How do I set it up so that the Sphinx index will automatically rebuild itself whenever data is added to or modified in a searchable django model?

• Redirect Output of Capistrano

  I have a Capistrano deploy file (Capfile) that is rather large, contains a few namespaces and generally has a lot of information already in it. My ultimate goal is, using the Tinder gem, paste the output of the entire deployment into Campfire. I have Tinder setup properly already. I looked into using the Capistrano capture method, but that only works for the first host. Additionally that would be a lot of work to go through and add something like: output << capture 'foocommand' Specifically, I am looking to capture the output of any deployment from that file into a variable (in addition to putting it to STDOUT so I can see it), then pass that output in the variable into a function called notify_campfire. Since the notify_campfire function is getting called at the end of a task (every task regardless of the namespace), it should have the task name available to it and the output (which is stored in that output variable). Any thoughts on how to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated.

I'm developing an "installation" like cocoa application wich needs to take care of some http request, some file system reading, copying files to /usr/share, set up cron (not launchd) and ask some information to user. I discarded PackageMaker since I need more flexibility. Currently everything is going well, but on my last installation step, I need to: Delete my previously installed application folder (if exists). It's always the same path: /usr/share/MY_APP Create again the application folder at: /usr/share/MY_APP Copy application files to /usr/share/MY_APP Update a cron job It's very important that /usr/share/MY_APP keeps protected with administrative privileges, so a regular shouldn't delete it. • Is it dangerous to set off an autoreleased NSOperationQueue?

  I have a task that takes a rather long time and should run in the background. According to the documentation, this can be done using an NSOperationQueue. However, I do not want to keep a class-global copy of the NSOperationQueue since I really only use it for that one task. Hence, I just set it to autorelease and hope that it won't get released before the task is done. It works. like this: NSInvocationOperation *theTask = [NSInvocationOperation alloc]; theTask = [theTask initWithTarget:self selector:@selector(doTask:) object:nil]; NSOperationQueue *operationQueue = [[NSOperationQueue new] autorelease]; [operationQueue addOperation:theTask]; [theTask release]; I am kind of worried, though. Is this guaranteed to work? Or might operationQueue get deallocated at some point and take theTask with it?

  I have an Alfresco document reference; what I'm looking for is a way to access workflow attached to that document and finish it (or progress it to the next transition) through Javascript. Almost every example on the web shows how to start workflow, and from the dashlet I could call task command processor (/alfresco/command/task/end/[/transition]) if I knew the task ID, but how do I do the same thing from server-side web script starting only from the document reference? There must be a way to access workflows from document and manage them programatically.
