  • JQuery Animate.

    - by Oliver
Hi Really easy, I'm sure... I have a div which is the full screen and I want it to slide down from the top to the bottom. I have this: $('#full-screen').animate({ "bottom":0, height: 'toggle' }, 1000, function() { // Animation complete. }); But this is the wrong way round as the bottom moves up; how do I get the bottom to stay where is is and the top to slide down to meet it? Thanks

  • Tiled Image for background of DIV is making IE sllllowww when scrolling

    - by Nissan Fan
Take a look at http://www.pmverge.com at the "We're in Bootstrap Mode" DIV on the right-hand side. Having that background tile image is causing the IE browser (all versions) to drag when scrolling. What can I do to keep that tiled style but not have it slow down IE. background-image: url(http://blog.pmverge.com/assets/images/background.gif) NOTES Yes this is the Stackoverflow.com engine as I'm licensing it. The background watermark image is not slowing the page down (though it has about 50k).

  • How to create a status bar icon on the right side? (Android)

    - by yuku
Notification and NotificationManager are used to create icons to be placed on the top-left position of the screen. A Notification also need to have an entry on the status bar pull-down. However, icons on the right side such as the battery, signal strength, wireless indicators do not need any entry on the status bar. How do I make such icons without any entry in the status bar pull-down?

  • A way to correct background scaling in iPad's Safari?

    - by favo
Hi, I have a website using a huge background image (2000x1500) in a div container (100% x 100%). When I open that site on Safari on an iPad it gets scaled down (~40%) in a different proportion than the content (~80%). I moved the background to an img-tag in a div with 100% width and 100% height and an overflow setting "hidden". Exactly the same happens. Is there a CSS Setting that can help Safari to scale down background images in the same proportion as the content?

  • How can I configure apigee to fail stale if the backend is unavialble?

    - by Anurag Kapur
We have an API proxy configured with cache ttl of 2mins. Is it possible to configure apigee to serve stale cached content if the backend goes down so that our end users don't see errors? We would rather have our end users get copies of stale cached content (even after the configured ttl of 2mins expires) instead of errors when the backend goes down. Would appreciate if someone could point me to the relevant documentation if this is possible.

  • How to ignore a test within the JUnit test method itself

    - by Benju
We have a number of integration tests that fail when our staging server goes down for weekly maintenance. When the staging server is down we send a specific response that I could detect in my integration tests. When I get this response instead of failing the tests I'm wondering if it is possible to skip/ignore that test even though it has started running. This would keep our test reports a bit cleaner. Does anybody have suggestions?

  • jquery animation problem using stop

    - by Flanders
Hi! When running a Jquery animation like slideDown(), it looks like a number of element-specific css properties is set to be updated at a specific interval and when the animation is complete these properties are unset and the display property is simply set to auto or whatever. At least in firebug you can't see those temporary properties any more. The problem I've encountered is the scenario where we stop the slide down with stop(). The element is then left with the current temporary css values. Which is fine because it has to, but let us say that I stoped the slidedown because I have decided to slide it back up again a bit prematurely. It would look something like this: $(this).slideDown(2000) //The below events is not in queue but will rather start execute almost simultaneously as the above line. (dont remember the exact syntax) $(this).delay(1000).stop().slideUp(2000) The above code might not make much sense, but the point is: After 1 second of sliding down the animation is stopped and it starts to slide back up. Works like a charm. BUT!!! And here is the problem. Once it it has slid back up the elements css properties are reset to the exact values it had 1000ms into the slideDown() animation (when stop() was called). If we now try to run the following: $(this).slideDown(2000) It will slide down to the very point the prior slideDown was aborted and not further at half the speed (since it uses the same time for approximately half the height). This is because the css properties were saved as I see it. But it is not especially wished for. Of course I want it to slide all the way down this time. Due to UI interaction that is hard to predict everything might soon break. The longer animations we use increases the risk of something like this happening. Is this to be considered a bug, or am I doing something wrong? Or maybe it's just a feature that is not supported? I guess I can use a callback function to reset the css properties, but depending on the animation used, different css properties are used to render it, and covering your back would result in quite a not-so-fancy solution.

  • Javascript sliding (preferably jQuery)

    - by jwzk
I am trying to think of the name of the plugin (or a plugin) that slides content in (up or down). So I have a hidden div, I click on one of the titles/header, it opens the hidden div, if I click on another header it hides the other visible div, and slides up or down the new one. I can't think of it for some reason.. anyone?

  • Strange phantom header margin bug html/css

    - by MickyJimbo
So I'm creating this website and there is a strange untraceable bug that causes the header to move down 10 or so pixels. On a refresh the header could be correct or it could be broken. I've been testing it on Adobe Browserlab and the results are different every time. There is no discernible pattern making it incredible hard to track down. http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/c866bf594d.jpg Has anyone ever had this problem and been able to fix it?

How do I do this?

  • Thread too slow. Better way to execute code (Android AndEngine)?

    - by rphello101
    I'm developing a game where the user creates sprites with every touch. I then have a thread run to check to see if those sprites collide with any others. The problem is, if I tap too quickly, I cause a null pointer exception error. I believe it's because I'm tapping faster than my thread is running. This is the thread I have: public class grow implements Runnable{ public grow(Sprite sprite){ } @Override public void run() { float radf, rads; //fill radius/stationary radius float fx=0, fy=0, sx, sy; while(down){ if(spriteC[spriteNum].active){ spriteC[spriteNum].sprite.setScale(spriteC[spriteNum].scale += 0.001); if(spriteC[spriteNum].sprite.collidesWith(ground)||spriteC[spriteNum].sprite.collidesWith(roof)|| spriteC[spriteNum].sprite.collidesWith(left)||spriteC[spriteNum].sprite.collidesWith(right)){ down = false; spriteC[spriteNum].active=false; yourScene.unregisterTouchArea(spriteC[spriteNum].sprite); } fx = spriteC[spriteNum].sprite.getX(); fy = spriteC[spriteNum].sprite.getY(); radf=spriteC[spriteNum].sprite.getHeightScaled()/2; Log.e("F"+Float.toString(fx),Float.toString(fy)); if(spriteNum>0) for(int x=0;x<spriteNum;x++){ rads=spriteC[x].sprite.getHeightScaled()/2; sx = spriteC[x].body.getWorldCenter().x * 32; sy = spriteC[x].body.getWorldCenter().y * 32; Log.e("S"+Float.toString(sx),Float.toString(sy)); Log.e(Float.toString((float) Math.sqrt(Math.pow((fx-sx),2)+Math.pow((fy-sy),2))),Float.toString((radf+rads))); if(Math.sqrt(Math.pow((fx-sx),2)+Math.pow((fy-sy),2))<(radf+rads)){ down = false; spriteC[spriteNum].active=false; yourScene.unregisterTouchArea(spriteC[spriteNum].sprite); Log.e("Collided",Boolean.toString(down)); } } } } spriteC[spriteNum].body = PhysicsFactory.createCircleBody(mPhysicsWorld, spriteC[spriteNum].sprite, BodyType.DynamicBody, FIXTURE_DEF); mPhysicsWorld.registerPhysicsConnector(new PhysicsConnector(spriteC[spriteNum].sprite, spriteC[spriteNum].body, true, true)); } } Better solution anyone? I know there is something to do with a handler, but I don't exactly know what that is or how to use one.
