    I am running the top command to see details about specific processes. The output is piped to grep like so: top -n 1 | grep jre The output is usually around 4 lines, and I would like to prefix the current time to each line so it would be something like: Before: 2772 deleteme 20 0 2832 1156 872 R 2.0 0.1 0:00.01 top After: 13:46 25-08-2012 2772 deleteme 20 0 2832 1156 872 R 2.0 0.1 0:00.01 top

    I have a shell script that used to run find on Ubuntu 10.04 but since I have moved to 12.04 it doesn't work as before throwing the following messages: /home/checks.sh: 1: /home/checks.sh: date : not found find: invalid mode `0777\r' the script is as follows: date echo "" echo "Files changed in the last 24 hours" echo "==================================" find /var/www -mtime -1 | grep -iv '.log' echo "" echo "" echo "Files with permissions set to 777" echo "=================================" find /var/www -perm 0777 all lines work from the command line but not in the shell script any more. Can't find anything in the manual to suggest why.

  • Simple Voip server for ubuntu

    I have a network that connects 2 households and would like to setup a simple voip server so that I can call between the houses. It needs to be for ubnutu , I have used the free 3CX system and while it works brilliantly it doesnt support linux and I can get a windows box. The users will never need to call external lines. They will only make 'calls' between laptops/pc. Can someone please make a recommendation and maybe even a tutorial that I can follow

  • Large quotation marks in Word?

    Is there a simple way in MS Word to get large quotation marks tightly round a paragraph of text, like you might see in print media to mark a quote? If you simply increase the font size of the quote character, it moves too far away from the text it's accompanying. Worse, the first and last lines start to detach from the rest of the paragraph.   • Is there a better IIS 7 bindings dialog?

    Some of my sites in IIS have 20-30 bindings and the bindings dialog box in IIS 7 is 4 lines, which makes editing bindings a real pain. Are there any replacements/upgrades for the dialog specifically? I realize behind the scenes it is just updating an XML file, but I would prefer not to directly edit the XML file or start writing a separate management application, if possible.

I'm trying to find a page that explains them one by one, by I can't find anything.

While playing NFS, my car has various transparent diamonds all over its body, and while playing FIFA I get these weird black lines all over the field.     As a Linux user, I am very used to jump from word to word in vim/nano using ALT+left or right. This doesn't seem to work properly using iTerm, I am using zsh, I tried adding; bindkey -e bindkey '^[[1;9C' forward-word bindkey '^[[1;9D' backward-word It does work, but inside zsh only, then I commented those lines and added in iTerm a keyboard shortcut; It does work, but only for the ALTleft How can I make it work for the right arrow too?

    I have a program that automatically copies files to a directory, and if it creates a duplicate it will name it like so: file with duplicate.xxx file with duplicate - 1.xxx file with duplicate - 2.xxx I need a way to delete all the duplicates with a windows batch file. Something along the lines of: FOR %f IN (C:\files\*.*) DO del "%f - 1" However, that will not work because that would resolve to file with duplicate - 1.xxx - 1

  • Vim conceal feature is applied to active line

    I am using MacVim with the vim-latex plugin. There is a conceal feature turned on by default that converts LaTeX symbols to unicode in vim itself so the source is easier to read. I think this is supposed to turn off on the active line (under the cursor) but this isn't happening, meaning I can't edit the code in parts. Is there a way to make the conceal feature only apply for inactive lines? Otherwise, how do I turn it off?
