• Delphi LoadLibrary Failing to find DLL other directory - any good options?

  Two Delphi programs need to load foo.dll, which contains some code that injects a client-auth certificate into a SOAP request. foo.dll resides in c:\fooapp\foo.dll and is normally loaded by c:\fooapp\foo.exe. That works fine. The other program needs the same functionality, but it resides in c:\program files\unwantedstepchild\sadapp.exe. Both aps load the DLL with this code: FOOLib := LoadLibrary('foo.dll'); ... If FOOLib <> 0 then begin FOOProc := GetProcAddress(FOOLib , 'xInjectCert'); FOOProc(myHttpRequest, Data, CertName); end; It works great for foo.exe, as the dll is right there. sadapp.exe fails to load the library, so FOOLib is 0, and the rest never gets called. The sadapp.exe program therefore silently fails to inject the cert, and when we test against production, it the cert is missing, do the connection fails. Obviously, we should have fully-qualified the path to the DLL. Without going into a lot of details, there were aspects of the testing that masked this problem until recently, and now it's basically too late to fix in code, as that would require a full regression test, and there isn't time for that. Since we've painted ourselves into a corner, I need to know if there are any options that I've overlooked. While we can't change the code (for this release), we CAN tweak the installer. I've found that placing c:\fooapp into the path works. As does adding a second copy of foo.dll directly into c:\program files\unwantedstepchild. c:\fooapp\foo.exe will always be running while sadapp.exe is running, so I was hoping that Windows would find it that way, but apparently not. Is there a way to tell Windows that I really want that same DLL? Maybe a manifest or something? This is the sort of "magic bullet" that I'm looking for. I know I can: Modify the windows path, probably in the installer. That's ugly. Add a second copy of the DLL, directly into the unwantedstepchild folder. Also ugly Delay the project while we code and test a proper fix. Unacceptable. Other? Thanks for any guidance, especially with "Other". I understand that this issue is not necessarily specific to Delphi. Thanks!

• Relative paths in spring classpath resource

  Hi all, I have a bunch of spring config files, all of which live under the META-INF directory in various subpackages. I have been using import like the following... <import resource="../database/schema.xml"/> So a relative path from the source file. This works fine when I am working with a local build outside of a jar file. But when I package everything up in a jar then I get an error that it cannot resolve the URL resource. If I change the above to an absolute path (with classpath:) then it works fine. Is there any way to use relative paths with ".." in when the configs are packaged in a jar or am I restricted to descending relative paths and absolute paths only? Thanks.

• TinyMce imagemanager won't generate image path when used with an iframe

  I have successfully setup tinymce to work on a page within an iframe. Everything works perfectly. However, when you use imagemanager to pick an image to be inserted or replaced in the editor it will not copy the path(and filename) of the image to the "Image URL" input in the "Insert/edit image" box. The box will either remain empty or keep the address of the previous image. • Web Deployment Project failed to map path for include virtual

  I am building my site with a web deployment project but the build fails with a number of errors all relating to the "#include virtual" directives in my master page. The includes are necessary to import a set of centrally managed html template files. Here is an example of the include directive and associated error: <!-- #include virtual="/v3/sits/pdpdev/assets-templates/inc/head.html" --> /PDPRegistration.csproj/Pages/ContentPage.Master(15): error ASPPARSE: Failed to map the path '/v3/sits/pdpdev/assets-templates/inc/head.html'. The error for each included file actually appears multiple times. I'm not sure what is being mapped or why, but this was never a problem until I started using WDP (which I wanted to alter web.config depending on the build environment, among other things.) The project is built locally on my PC and then copied to the web server via a mapped drive. I found a few solutions on the 'net involving IIS metabase - they weren't quite clear to me, and I'm not sure if they apply given how I build and deploy the project (that is, would I have to build on the same system as IIS in order to make use of the metabase?) Can anyone suggest how I can get my project to build with WDP?

  Hi, In my ASP.Net MVC application, I use custom error handling. I want to perform custom actions for each error case I meet in my application. So I override Application_Error, get the Server.GetLastError(); and do my business depending on the exception, the current user, the current URL (the application runs on many domains), the user IP, and many others. Obviousely, the application is often the target of hackers. In almost all the case it's not a problem to detect and manage it, but for some JS URL attacks, my error handling does not perform what I want it to do. Ex (from logs) : http://localhost:1809/Scripts/]||!o.support.htmlSerialize&&[1 When I got such an URL, an exception is raised when accessing the ConnectionStrings section in the web.config, and I can't even redirect to another URL.   I have a lot of development versions of packages installed with virtualenv under the default /src directory in the environment. Normally, I decided to do the development of my project under the /src directory afterwards. To add my directory to the Python path, I decided to eschew from using any absolute paths, since I'm going to have to move the project around with my friends. It's a Django application, so I was happy with putting environment.pth under the root that contained the path to my project and a wsgi in the same directory would call the sites module to parse environment.pth. All good. I was also looking to move the .pth file into site-packages, but I'm having trouble with relative paths that move up the directory tree. For: /env /lib /site-pacakges /src /myproject So, the .pth entry in site-packages to myproject should look like ../../src/myproject, but this doesn't seem to be working for me on Windows.

• Relative links in CSS, after moving Wordpress

  I created a blog with Wordpress on a temporary test domain. I put it in the main directory, not a folder. Now I want to move it to the correct website, in a folder. I can update all of the MySQL values for the site URL, and the relative path links work just fine. The problem is that I can't seem to make my CSS path links work. I realize that my problem is that they are relative to the CSS file, in the WordPress theme, and not the page. But how can I fix this? Here is an example: #topNav {background:#3a93c3 url(wp-content/uploads/2011/07/blueNav.jpg) repeat-x;} I have tried adding './', '../', and '../../' to the beginning, but it doesn't work at all. Any suggestions?

• Calculating Divergent Paths on Subtending Rings

  I need to calculate two paths from A to B in the following graph, with the constraint that the paths can't share any edges: hmm, okay, can't post images, here's a link. All edges have positive weights; for this example I think we can assume that they're equal. My naive approach is to use Djikstra's algorithm to calculate the first path, shown in the second graph in the above image. Then I remove the edges from the graph and try to calculate the second path, which fails. Is there a variation of Djikstra, Bellman-Ford (or anything else) that will calculate the paths shown in the third diagram above? (Without special knowledge and removal of the subtending link, is what I mean)

  On my system I have two versions of Python (to call them I type python and python2 in the command line). When I use the first version of Python, I cannot import sklearn module but I can do it in the second version of Python. I would like to use the first version of python (because other modules are available there) and, at the same time, I would like to be able to import sklearn from this version of Python. My solution was to use: import sys sys.path.append('location_of_the_sklearn_module') To find the location of the sklearn module I started a python session (using the second version of python, in which sklearn works). The I type: import sklearn sklearn.__file__ As a result I got: /home/name/my_name/numpy/local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/sklearn/__init__.pyc In the session of the first version of Python I tried: import sys sys.path.append('/home/name/my_name/numpy/local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/sklearn') import sklearn Unfortunately it did not work. • Optimizing Dijkstra for dense graph?

  Is there another way to calculate the shortest path for a near complete graph other than Dijkstra? I have about 8,000 nodes and about 18 million edges. I've gone through the thread "a to b on map" and decided to use Dijkstra. I wrote my script in Perl using the Boost::Graph library. But the result isn't what I expected. It took about 10+ minutes to calculate one shortest path using the call $graph-dijkstra_shortest_path($start_node,$end_node); I understand there are a lot of edges and it may be the reason behind the slow running time. Am I dead in the water? Is there any other way to speed this up?

  Business problem - understand process fallout using analytics data. Here is what we have done so far: Build a dictionary table with every possible process step Find each process "start" Find the last step for each start Join dictionary table to last step to find path to final step In the final report output we end up with a list of paths for each start to each final step: User Fallout Step HierarchyID.ToString() A 1/1/1 B 1/1/1/1/1 C 1/1/1/1 D 1/1/1 E 1/1 What this means is that five users (A-E) started the process. Assume only User B finished, the other four did not. Since this is a simple example (without branching) we want the output to look as follows: Step Unique Users 1 5 2 5 3 4 4 2 5 1 The easiest solution I could think of is to take each hierarchyID.ToString(), parse that out into a set of subpaths, JOIN back to the dictionary table, and output using GROUP BY. Given the volume of data, I'd like to use the built-in HierarchyID functions, e.g. IsAncestorOf. Any ideas or thoughts how I could write this? Maybe a recursive CTE?

• Design pattern to integrate Rails with a Comet server

  I have a Ruby on Rails (2.3.5) application and an APE (Ajax Push Engine) server. When records are created within the Rails application, i need to push the new record out on applicable channels to the APE server. Records can be created in the rails app by the traditional path through the controller's create action, or it can be created by several event machines that are constantly monitoring various inputstream and creating records when they see data that meets a certain criteria. It seems to me that the best/right place to put the code that pushes the data out to the APE server (which in turn pushes it out to the clients) is in the Model's after_create hook (since not all record creations will flow through the controller's create action). The final caveat is I want to push a piece of formatted HTML out to the APE server (rather than a JSON representation of the data). The reason I want to do this is 1) I already have logic to produce the desired layout in existing partials 2) I don't want to create a javascript implementation of the partials (javascript that takes a JSON object and creates all the HTML around it for presentation). This would quickly become a maintenance nightmare. The problem with this is it would require "rendering" partials from within the Model (which im having trouble doing anyhow because they don't seem to have access to Helpers when they're rendered in this manner). Anyhow - Just wondering what the right way to go about organizing all of this is. Thanks

  I have a license file that I need to access at runtime in order to create pdf-files. After I have created the in memory pdf, I need to call a method on that pdf to set the license, like this: pdf.SetLicense("pathToLicenseFileHere"); The license file is located in the same project as the.cs-file that creates the pdf, but is in a separate folder. I cannot get this simple thing to behave correctly, which makes me a bit sad, since it really shouldn't be that hard. :( I try to set the path like this: string path = @"\Resources\File.lic"; But it just isn't working out for me.

My folder structures is this. root path = flipbooks subfolders under flipbooks are books and clients in subfolder books I have and .net page title tablet. the tablet code behind checks the bookid of client and render a the tablet page with images in a flipbook fashion. because we have over 15000 records and flipbooks already created and stored in the database. I don't move the client folder under the books subfolders. I need the code below to get to the client subfolder in the query string and help to change this would be helpful. I tried moving the tablet.aspx file to the root flipbooks and it works but i have provide a user name and password each time. This need to be access by the public and my root is protected.   Hello all, I have mapped a network drive to a computer in my home network. Now I am trying to access it via PHP - I did this quick test: echo opendir('Z:\\'); This gives me: Warning: opendir(Z:\) [function.opendir]: failed to open dir: No error in C:\wamp\www\webs\tester-function.php on line 3 What have I done wrong here? I don't want my users typing in the UNC path so is there a way to get the UNC path for them and maybe that will work when I try to access it? This is possible in Microsoft languages but I am not sure how to get PHP to do this - maybe using a cmd.exe command? Please note, the mapped drive does exist as I can see it and I can access it. It also does not appear to be a permissions problem as I am assuming it would of complained about this IF it could access that drive...right? Thanks all for any help

  Our product includes several DLLs built from open source into files with default names as delivered by the open source developers. We're careful to install the files in our own directories and we carefully manage the search path (only for our processes) to keep the loader happy. Another developer -- a towering intellect -- decided it would be easier to install their own build of some of the same open source into C:\WINDOWS under the same default DLL filenames. Consequently, when we launch a process which depends on these open source DLLs, the system searches C:\WINDOWS before our directories and finds the DLLs installed by the other developer. And they are, of course, incompatible. Ideas which have occurred to me so far: rename all our DLLs to avoid the default names, which would only make it less likely we would encounter collisions load all our DLLs by full path so the loader captures their names into RAM and doesn't search anywhere else the next time they are requested For various reasons, neither of these options is palatable at the moment. What else can we do to defend ourselves against the towering intellects of the world?

• Why can't my c++ program find the necessary .dll file?

  I am trying to use OpenCV (a computer vision library), which appearently uses a few .dll files, located in C:\OpenCV\bin (which has been added to the system PATH variable). However, if I try to run a simple test program, it gives a system error: "The program can't start because highgui.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." If I copy the highgui.dll file into the system32 folder, it works, but I don't want to have to put all the necessary .dll files in the system32 folder. Does anyone know why the .dll file can't be found or what I should do to fix it? (I already checked all paths in the PATH variable for validity.)

• Why is gcc failing with "unrecognized command line option "-L/lusr/opt/mpfr-2.4.2/lib" "?

  My sysadmin recently installed a new version of GCC, in /lusr/opt/gcc-4.4.3. I tested it as follows: mike@canon:~$ cat test.c int main(){ return 0; } mike@canon:~$ gcc test.c /lusr/opt/gcc-4.4.3/libexec/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/4.4.3/cc1: error while loading shared libraries: libmpfr.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory After informing my sysadmin about this, he said to add /lusr/opt/mpfr-2.4.2/lib:/lusr/opt/gmp-4.3.2/lib to my LD_LIBRARY_PATH. After doing this, I get the following error: mike@canon:~$ gcc test.c cc1: error: unrecognized command line option "-L/lusr/opt/mpfr-2.4.2/lib" First, my sysadmin wasn't entirely sure this was the best workaround(though he did say it worked for him...), so is there a better solution? Second, why am I getting a linker error from cc, and how can I fix it?
