• Cast exception when trying to create new Task Schedueler task.

  I'm attempting to create a new task in the Windows Task Scheduler in C#. What I've got so far is pretty much a copy and paste of http://bartdesmet.net/blogs/bart/archive/2008/02/23/calling-the-task-scheduler-in-windows-vista-and-windows-server-2008-from-managed-code.aspx Everything compiles just fine but come run time I get the following exception: Unable to cast COM object of type 'System.__ComObject' to interface type 'TaskScheduler.ITimeTrigger'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{B45747E0-EBA7-4276-9F29-85C5BB300006}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE)). Here's all the code so you can see what I'm doing here without following the above link. Also, I should add that I'm using VS 2010 and I had to set the project to either be for x86 or x64 CPU's instead of the usual "Any CPU" because it kept giving me a BadImageFormatException. I doubt that's related to my current problem, but just in case I thought I might as well mention it.

• Selenium RC throws sessionsid should not be null exception, phpunit 3.4 bug only?

  I am looking to migrate my selenium RC tests to using PHPUnit 3.4.12 from PHPUnit 3.3.2 The selenium test will fail with an exception of the following when I use assertTextPresent() PHPUnit_Framework_Exception: Response from Selenium RC server for getLocation(). ERROR Server Exception: sessionId should not be null; has this session been started yet?. As you can see, the test should have completed as indicated by the "Killing Firefox" bit, but it instead continued to do something else and triggered the getLocation[, ] command which caused the exception. I have tried the same test with PHPUnit 3.3.2 which did not produce this problem - the test would happily end without the getLocation(). Any ideas? thanks

  Hello every body I was using the JDK very well writing the code then i use "javac" to compile it then "java" to run it But Recently when i write a code and compile it then if i try to run it this exception appears to me "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError " at first i thought there is something wrong in my code , i searched in the internet for a solving for this problem but i didn't find anything may help me Then i try to run the "HelloWorld" example i made it before, it runs i copied the code and pasted it in another file and changed the name to "HelloWorld2" and compile it by "javac" and tried to run it by "java" the same exception appears i was surprised why? it is the same code then i used the "javap" which decompile the code with both i found this difference in the first one (the old one) "public static void main(java.lang.String[])"; but in the second (the new one) "public static void main(String[])"; without java.lang then i compiled the old one which works and runs by "javac" and when i try to run it, it didn't run and give me the same exception i tried with some of my old codes it run and when i compile it by "javac" it doesn't work I searched to find a solution to this problem and i found nothing

• EUpdateError exception not recognized when raised in TDatasetProvider.OnUpdateError. Why?

  When I re-throw a EUpdateError exception in the TDatasetProvider.OnUpdateError event, it is not recognized as EUpdateError exception in the catch block. It's only recognized as base Excption. try ... //calls the TDatasetPorvider.OnUpdateError event. myClientDataSet.ApplyUpdates(0); ... except on ex: EUpdateError do begin //never goes here //Evaluate ex.ErrorCode end; on ex: Exception do begin //always goes here //the expression (ex is EUpdateError) returns false; end; end; Hiere is the corresponding .OnUpdateError implementaion: procedure MyDataModule.MyDatasetProviderOnUpdateError(..;E: EUpdateError;...); beign //Here, the expression (E is EUpdateException) returns true; raise E; end; The exception is re-thrown, but as it seems the EUpdateError is transformed into a plain base Execption. Does anybody know, why the class type get lost? I would need that type in order to check the .ErrorCode to know what went wrong and to prepare the proper user message.

• Visual Studio 2012 Very Slow Typing

  I have a problem. After SP1 update, passing some time, VS 2012 becomes very-very slow when typing text. Solution size is not big, PC is quite powerful, it has 16GB of RAM, SSD drive, and i7-2600.   Trying to migrate data from C: to D: via the SBS console is failing. The wizard starts running but drops out in the first few seconds. • New install of Steam not running on new install of Ubuntu 13.10

  I tried purging steam, un-installing and reinstalling steam, deleting /home/.steam/share/steam/appcache/, deleting everything in /home/.steam/share/steam/ and nothing helped. I installed Ubuntu, then steam into it directly afterward. I installed steam from Ubuntu Software Centre, launched it, it updated 206MB, then closed. When I tried to launch it again, it momentarily flashes the checking for update dialogue, then closes every time. Then (in an unrelated event) Ubuntu said some system updates are necessary and one of them was Steam launcher. I did the update, tried to launch Steam; same story. Really need help on this, as I did a complete re-isntall of Ubuntu, then Steam again and it did not help at all.   I have a User Defined Function (UDF) written in Java to parse lines in a log file and return information back to pig, so it can do all the processing.   I got an exception with message "No printers are installed." while printing a report for depolyed release of our website. I use _rptDocument.PrintToPrinter(1, false, 0, 0); to print a report. I got that exception, even I've more than one printer installed on my machine. Also, I don't get that exception while development, everything while development is going fine. I used "Publish Web Site" and "Web Project Deployment" options to publish/deploy website, but I got the same result. Any suggestions?

  We have some third party code wherein they do the following 1) Create a User Transaction e.g. txn = (UserTransaction)ctx.lookup( "UserTransaction" ); txn.begin( ); 2) Do some work persisting to the database (via JPA) to a MySQL database 3) txn.commit() They have Exception blocks but NONE of them call txn.rollback. Good coding practice says they NEED to call rollback if an exception occurs but my question is If the txn is not commited, and an exception occurs what is the negative effect of them NOT calling rollback?

I pointed out how there could've been any number of reasons for the null pointer, so we changed it to a defensive check for the one result. However, catching NullPointerException just seemed wrong to me. In my mind, Null pointer exceptions are the result of bad code and not to be an expected exception in the system. Are there any cases where it makes sense to catch a null pointer exception?

• Why do I get Detached Entity exception when upgrading Spring Boot 1.1.4 to 1.1.5

  On updating Spring Boot from 1.1.4 to 1.1.5 a simple web application started generating detached entity exceptions. Specifically, a post authentication inteceptor that bumped number of visits was causing the problem. A quick check of loaded dependencies showed that Spring Data has been updated from 1.6.1 to 1.6.2 and a further check of the change log shows a couple of issues relating to optimistic locking, version fields and JPA issues that have been fixed. Well I am using a version field and it starts out as Null following recommendation to not set in the specification. I have produced a very simple test scenario where I get detached entity exceptions if the version field starts as null or zero. If I create an entity with version 1 however then I do not get these exceptions. Is this expected behaviour or is there still something amiss? Below is the test scenario I have for this condition. In the scenario the service layer that has been annotated @Transactional. Each test case makes multiple calls to the service layer - the tests are working with detached entities as this is the scenario I am working with in the full blown application. The test case comprises four tests: Test 1 - versionNullCausesAnExceptionOnUpdate() In this test the version field in the detached object is Null. This is how I would usually create the object prior to passing to the service. This test fails with a Detached Entity exception. I would have expected this test to pass. If there is a flaw in the test then the rest of the scenario is probably moot. Test 2 - versionZeroCausesExceptionOnUpdate() In this test I have set the version to value Long(0L). This is an edge case test and included because I found reference to Zero values being used for version field in the Spring Data change log. This test fails with a Detached Entity exception. Of interest simply because the following two tests pass leaving this as an anomaly. Test 3 - versionOneDoesNotCausesExceptionOnUpdate() In this test the version field is set to value Long(1L). Not something I would usually do, but considering the notes in the Spring Data change log I decided to give it a go. This test passes. Would not usually set the version field, but this looks like a work-around until I figure out why the first test is failing. Test 4 - versionOneDoesNotCausesExceptionWithMultipleUpdates() Encouraged by the result of test 3 I pushed the scenario a step further and perform multiple updates on the entity that started life with a version of Long(1L). This test passes. Reinforcement that this may be a useable work-around.   Hello Everyone, I would like to achieve something very similar to this question, with some enhancements. There is an ASP.NET MVC web application. I have a tree of entities. For example, a Page class which has a property called Children, which is of type IList<Page>. (An instance of the Page class corresponds to a row in a database.) I would like to assign a unique URL to every Page in the database. I handle Page objects with a Controller called PageController. Example URLs: http://mysite.com/Page1/ http://mysite.com/Page1/SubPage/ http://mysite.com/Page/ChildPage/GrandChildPage/ You get the picture. So, I'd like every single Page object to have its own URL that is equal to its parent's URL plus its own name. In addition to that, I also would like the ability to map a single Page to the / (root) URL. I would like to apply these rules: If a URL can be handled with any other route, or a file exists in the filesystem in the specified URL, let the default URL mapping happen If a URL can be handled by the virtual path provider, let that handle it If there is no other, map the other URLs to the PageController class I also found this question, and also this one and this one, but they weren't of much help, since they don't provide an explanation about my first two points. I see the following possible soutions: Map a route for each page invidually. This requires me to go over the entire tree when the application starts, and adding an exact match route to the end of the route table. I could add a route with {*path} and write a custom IRouteHandler that handles it, but I can't see how could I deal with the first two rules then, since this handler would get to handle everything. So far, the first solution seems to be the right one, because it is also the simplest. I would really appreciate your thoughts on this. Thank you in advance!
