• Enable vertical scrolling on textarea

  I have a textarea that I want to enable vertical scrolling. When I exceed the height of the textarea, it increases in size. The scroll bar does not appear. I want that a vertical scroll bar appears and the users are not able to resize the text area as well. I searched online and tried solutions posted, but none seem to work.   I have a webpage with an input field where only digits are allowed. • How do I change the background image of my app?

  Hello I have looked around and found some code which so called chooses an image from an array of image objects, but cant find an explanation. I would like to make my app have a background image and the user can select next and previous buttons to scroll through some full screen images, setting them as the background image as they scroll. I know how to do this in java, but cant seem to do it for this app. How or what code is linked to a next button to grab the next image in the array and reverse for the back button? Then that needs to be displayed obviously. I have used a layered architecture with a MVC style approach but cant seem to put it together with Objective-C. Would the buttons call the appropriate methods of the so called delegates, which the delegates handle fetching and returning the Images? Would the buttons use the returned images and actually handle the redrawing? I would really appreciate the help. Regards Jarryd

  I had made a windows service in visual studio 2008 in C#.inside the service i had written only single line code try { System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(@"E:\Users\Sk\Desktop\category.txt"); } catch { } then i add the project insatller & change the serviceProcessInstaller1 Account proerty as local system Also change the serviceInstaller1 start type proerty as Automatic. then i build the project.it was succesfull. after that i add another project that was setup project.i had added pprimary project output & i had added the custom action as "Primary output from DemoWindowsService (Active)".then buil the setup.setup was build sucessfully.then i install the setup & then went to services start the service.service stated properly butit was not performing the task. i had checked the path is correct & also i tried to do System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(@"E:\Windows\system32\notepad.exe") but still result is same.i tried alot but not getting the ans soleasse help me to solve this problem.

  Hi, In the root directory of a small site i'm developing i have the following .htacess file: Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-F RewriteRule .$ index.php that basically allows me to have pretty urls as it remaps every path that does not exists on the server (eg : /user/details/145 ) as a call to index.php where I handle it MVC-style. While this works ok on MacOs, this morning I have to work on another machine that has Windows (the apache server is run by xampp) and it does not work as it seems to redirect all the calls (eg those to static files like images) to index.php Any help?

• D_WIN32_WINNT compiler warning with Boost

  Not sure what to make of this error. Added -D_WIN32_WINNT=0x0501 to Visual Studio's "Command Line" options under Project Properties but it says it doesn't recognize it and the warning still appears. I am also not sure how to add the Preprocessor Definition. :) Thanks for any help! 1Please define _WIN32_WINNT or _WIN32_WINDOWS appropriately. For example: 1- add -D_WIN32_WINNT=0x0501 to the compiler command line; or 1- add _WIN32_WINNT=0x0501 to your project's Preprocessor Definitions.

• How do I swap triangle icons when doing expanding/collapsing divs with Javascript/CSS

  I have a div that I want to toggle between displaying or not when a user clicks on a piece of text. I have a javascript function that toggles a div on or off. That works fine. What I don't know how to do is to have a triangle that points to the right or down depending on whether the div is open. My HTML looks like this: <a onclick="toggleDiv('myDiv');">Click here to expand or close div</a> <div id="myDiv" style="display:none"> ... </div> How do I add one of those triangles and have it point the right way, ideally with just HTML, Javascript, and CSS? The triangle would appear to the left of the "Click here..." string. Thanks.

• Programmatically Setting the Version of a Window's Service on the ProjectInstaller

  I have a Windows Service created in Visual Studio 2005 in C#. I have a setup project and a ProjectInstaller class. I also have code to programmatically get the version from the AssemblyFileVersionAttribute. I need to figure out where I set the version that I've obtained (and where this code should go). I tried placing it in the InitializeComponent method on ProjectInstaller.Designer.cs and then appending the version to serviceInstaller1.DisplayName and serviceInstaller1.ServiceName. This didn't work and you're not supposed to modify the contents of this method. Any ideas?

• HTML5 - Creating a canvas on top of an SVG(or other image)

  The reason for asking this question is because I want to be able to draw an arrow between two svg images. I want to use canvas to create the arrows, so firstly I generate the svgs then place a canvas on top of them to be able to draw the arrows. I've tried using style=... but haven't had any luck as everytime I add the canvas element it just pushes my svg images to another pl If there's no easy way to do this I'll just create arrows using SVG, I figured it would be more efficient to use canvas if I had to do lots of arrows in a short amount of time.

• Remove specified text from beginning of lines only if present (C#)

  I have a textbox in which the user can edit text, in a scripting language. I've figured out how to let the user comment out lines in one click, but can't seem to figure out how to uncomment properly. For example, if the box has: Normal Text is here More normal text -- Commented text -- More commented text Normal Text again --Commented Text Again So, when the user selects any amount of text and decides to uncomment, the "--" is removed from the beginning of the lines that have it. The lines without the "--" should be unaffected. In short, I want an uncomment function that performs similar to the one in Visual Studio. Is there any way to accomplish this? Thanks

• sql query is too slow, how to improve speed

  I have run into a bottleneck when trying to update one of my tables. The player table has, among other things, id, skill, school, weight. What I am trying to do is: SELECT id, skill FROM player WHERE player.school = (current school of 4500) AND player.weight = (current weight of 14) to find the highest skill of all players returned from the query UPDATE player SET starter = 'TRUE' WHERE id = (highest skill) move to next weight and repeat when all weights have been completed move to next school and start over all schools completed, done I have this code implemented and it works, but I have approximately 4500 schools totaling 172000 players and the way I have it now, it would take probably a half hour or more to complete (did not wait it out), which is way too slow. How to speed this up? Short of reducing the scale of the system, I am willing to do anything that gets the intended result. • VS2008 is very slow on a specific large C++ solution

  I have a solution with 21 C++ projects and 1 VB.NET project. The IDE responds very slowly when I simply move the carret in a file or try to open the menu. The process seems to take 50% of CPU for each movement. It only happens with this solution and only on my machine. The solution has total of 2380 source and header files, of which 1280 are header files. I tried to remove all connection to the source control (Perforce) but it didn't help. Also, I have Visual Assist installed but even after removing it (uninstall), the same behavior continued. Any idea?

  Hi there, I am implementing a CMS, the case is that the "Web-Editable" is in a different domain thus, I would be able just get the page using HttpRequest in order to copy and show it in the CMS server to make it able to change it (DOM just visual purpose) and save the changes to the CSS and JavaScript folder on the "Web-Editable" using FTP. I am not allow to download all the information included on the "Web-Editable" trough the FTP, and there are other dinamic images as well comming from a private database. The question is, anyone knows how to make a httprequest "cascade" to get all the 1st level information you see when you visit a Web? Thank you in advance, Efrain

• How do I overflow text to the left in a table?

  I have a table with fixed layout. On overflow, the contents of cells should clip from the left instead of the right. That is, if the width of the TD is less than the width of the text, the cell below should display "67890" instead of "12345". This needs to work in IE7+ at minimum.   Ok this is driving me nuts, I need to write an SQL query that will grab product information from 2 tables. The first table 'products' contains the productId, productname, quantityperunit and unitprice.   I'm having trouble coming up with the most efficient algorithm to remove duplicates from List<List<int>>, for example (I know this looks like a list of int[], but just doing it that way for visual purposes: my_list[0]= {1, 2, 3}; my_list[1]= {1, 2, 3}; my_list[2]= {9, 10, 11}; my_list[3]= {1, 2, 3}; So the output would just be new_list[0]= {1, 2, 3}; new_list[1]= {9, 10, 11}; Let me know if you have any ideas.   If you try to compile the query below in Visual Basic .NET, it fails. From x In {1, 2} Select x.ToString() The error given by the compiler is: Range variable name cannot match the name of a member of the 'Object' class. There is nothing wrong with the equivalent C# query, though: from x in new[]{1, 2} select x.ToString() This does not happen with the ToString overload that takes a format (it is a member of Int32, not Object). It does happen with other members of Object, as long as they don't take an argument: with GetType and GetHashCode it fails; with Equals(object) it compiles. Why is this restriction in place, and what alternatives can I use?
