Can't Deploy or Upload Large SSRS 2008 Report from VS or IE

So far in this project I have two reports in VS2008/BIDS. The first one contains 1 tablix and is about 100k. The second one contains 3 tablixes (tablices?) and is about 257k. I can successfully deploy the smaller report from VS and I can upload it from the Report Manager in IE. I can view/run it from Report Manager and I can get to the Report Server (web service) URL from my browser just fine. Everything is done over HTTPS and there is nothing wrong with the certificates. With the larger report, the error I get in VS is "The operation has timed out" after about 100 seconds. The error when I upload from IE is "The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send" after about 130 seconds. In the RSReportServer.config file I tried changing Authentication/EnableAuthPersistence from true to false and restarting the service, but still get the error. I have the key "SecureConnectionLevel" set to 2. Changing this to 0 and turning off SSL is not going to be an option. I added a registry key named "MaxRequestBytes" to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\HTTP\Parameters and set it to 5242880 (5MB) and restarted the HTTP and SRS services as suggested in a forum post by Jin Chen of MSFT. I still cannot upload the larger report. This is on MS SQL 2008 and WS 2003. WPF - Only want one expander open at a time in grouped Listbox

I have a UserControl with a templated grouped listbox with expanders and only want one expander open at any time. I have browsed through the site but haven't found anything except binding the IsExpanded to IsSelected which isn't quite what I want. I am trying to put some code in the Expanded event that would loop through Expanders and close all the ones that aren't the expander passed in the Expanded event. I can't seem to figure out how to get at them. I've tried ListBox.Items.Groups but didn't see how to get at them and tried ListBox.ItemContainerGenerator.ContainerFromItem (or Index) but nothing came back. WPF: TextBox expanding with surrounding Grid but not with text

I have a problem with a TextBox in an application... A window has a Grid with two columns. The left column contains a control with a constant width but with a height that adapts. The right column contains a TextBox that takes up all remaining space in the Grid (and thereby in the Window). The Grid is given a minimal width and height and is wrapped within a ScrollViewer. If the user resizes the window to be smaller than the minimal widht/height of the Grid, scrollbars are displayed. This is exactly how I want it to be. However, a problem occurs when the user starts typing text. If the text is to long to fit in one line in the TextBox, I want the text to wrap. Therefore I set TextWrapping="Wrap" on the TextBox. But since the TextBox has an automatic width and is wrapped in a ScrollViewer (its actually the whole Grid that is wrapped), the TextBox just keeps expanding to the right. I do want the TextBox to expand if the window is expanded, but I don't want the TextBox to expand by the text. Rather the text should wrap inside the available TextBox. If the text don't fit within the TextBox height, a scrollbar should be displayed within the TextBox. Is there a way to accomplish this? Facebook connect displaying invite friends dialog and closing on completion

I'm trying to create a Facebook Connect application that displays a friend invite dialog within the page using Facebook's Javascript API (through a FBMLPopupDialog). The trouble is to display a friend invite dialog you use a multi-friend form which requires an action="url" attribute that represents the URL to redirect your page to when the user completes or skips the form. The problem is that I want to just close the FBMLPopupDialog (the same behavior as if the user just hit the 'X' button on the popup dialog). The best I can do is redirect the user back to the page they were on basically a reload but they lose all AJAX/Flash application state. I'm wondering if any Facebook Connect developers have run into this issue and have a good way to simply display a friend invite "lightbox" dialog within their website where they don't want to "refresh" or "redirect" when the user finishes. Spring Security - Persistent Remember Me Issue

I've been trying to track down why Spring Security isn't creating the Spring Security remember me cookie (SPRING_SECURITY_REMEMBER_ME_COOKIE). At first glance, the logs make it seem like the login is failing, but the login is actually successful in the sense that if I navigate to a page that requires authentication I am not redirected back to the login page. However, the logs appear to be saying the login credentials are invalid. I'm using Spring 3.0.1, Spring Security 3.0.1, and Google App Engine 1.3.1. Any ideas as to what is going on? ListView not firing OnItemCommand after preventing postback

Hi there, I have a ListView inside a FormView that, for some strange reason, doesn't fire neither the ItemInsert nor the ItemCommand event. I'm populating the ListView with a generic list. Then, when I click in the ImageButton with the CommandName="Insert", instead of firing the ItemCommand event, it enters once again in the ItemDataBound handler. So, any ideas? Thanks!

How do I correctly Re-render a Recaptcha in ASP.NET MVC 2 after an AJAX POST

Ok... I've downloaded and implemented this Recaptcha implementation for MVC which uses the ModelState to confirm the validity of the captcha control. It works brilliantly... except when I start to use it in an AJAX Form. In a nutshell, when a div is re-rendered with AJAX, the ReCaptcha that it should contain does not appear, even though the relevant <scripts> are in the source after the partial render. Hi , i am a newbie at ASP.net and after using sqldatasource with a listview to insert and show results from an SQL server db i want to try using the LINQ datasource since it seems to be more flexible in codebehind. ASPxGridView POST timeout

Hello all, I have a ASPxGridView with DetailRow in this row there are three additional ASPxGridViews. Each detail ASPxGridView contains EmptyDataRow templates with link to create a new row: <a href="javascript:gridViewDetails1.AddNewRow();">AddNewRecord</a> When master ASPxGridView rows is 1 or 2 then new rows in detail grids adding fine, but if in master ASPxGridView rows about 10 or more then when I clicking on detail grids link to add new row the loading panel appers for unlimited time and FireBug-Net shows that status of POST is timeout and time is about 1 sec. How can I repair it? To AGoodDisplayName: are the detail row gridviews bound to anything? yes of course, inside the details row of master gridView there are 3 another gridView and each of them have a separate ObjectDataSource. Subclassed django models with integrated querysets

Like in this question, except I want to be able to have querysets that return a mixed body of objects: >>> Product.objects.all() [<SimpleProduct: ...>, <OtherProduct: ...>, <BlueProduct: ...>, ...] I figured out that I can't just set Product.Meta.abstract to true or otherwise just OR together querysets of differing objects. Fine, but these are all subclasses of a common class, so if I leave their superclass as non-abstract I should be happy, so long as I can get its manager to return objects of the proper class. The query code in django does its thing, and just makes calls to Product(). Sounds easy enough, except it blows up when I override Product.__new__, I'm guessing because of the __metaclass__ in Model... Hello. I'm developing an ASP.NET application with C# and Visual Studio 2008 SP1. I'm using WebForms. I have an ASPX page with two UpdatePanels, one on the left that holds a TreeView and other on the right where I load dynamically user controls. One user control, that I used on right panel, has a FileUpload control and a button to save that file on server. The ascx code to save control is: <asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanelBotons" runat="server" RenderMode="Inline" UpdateMode="Conditional"> <ContentTemplate> <asp:Button ID="Save" runat="server" Text="Guardar" onclick="Save_Click" CssClass="button" /> </ContentTemplate> <Triggers> <asp:PostBackTrigger ControlID="Save" /> </Triggers> </asp:UpdatePanel> I make a full postback to upload the file to the server and save it to database. But I always getting False on FileUpload.HasFile. I problem is the right UpdatePanel. I need it to load dynamically the user controls. This panel has three UpdatePanels to load the three user controls that I use. Maybe I can use an Async File Uploader or delete the right Update Panel and do a full postback to load controls dynamically. Any advice? UPDATE: RegisterPostBackControl works... the second time I click on save button. First time FileUpload.HasFile is FALSE, and second time is TRUE. Second Update On first click I also check ScriptManager.IsInAsyncPostBack and is FALSE. I don't understand ANYTHING!! Why? Integrating POP3 client functionality into a C# application?

I have a web application that requires a server based component to periodically access POP3 email boxes and retrieve emails. The service then needs to process the emails which will involve: Validating the email against some business rules (does it contain a valid reference in the subject line, which user sent the mail, etc.) Analysing and saving any attachments to disk Take the email body and attachment details and create a new item in the database Or update an existing item where the reference matches the incoming email subject line What is the best way to approach this? I really don't want to have to write a POP3 client from scratch, but I need to be able to customize the processing of emails. Ideally I would be able to plug in some component that does the access and retrieval for me, returning arrays of attachments, body text, subject line, etc. ready for my processing... [ UPDATE: Reviews ] OK, so I have spent a fair amount of time looking into (mainly free) .NET POP3 libraries so I thought I'd provide a short review of some of those mentioned below and a few others: Pop3.net - free - works OK, very basic in terms of functionality provided. This is pretty much just the POP3 commands and some base64 encoding, but it's very straight forward - probably a good introduction Pop3 Wizard - commercial / some open source code - couldn't get this to build, missing DLLs, I wouldn't bother with this C#Mail - free - works well, comes with Mime parser and SMTP client, however the comments are in Japanese (not a big deal) and it didn't work with SSL 'out of the box' - I had to change the SslStream constructor after which it worked no problem OpenPOP - free - hasn't been updated for about 5 years so it's current state is .NET 1.0, doesn't support SSL but that was no problem to resolve - I just replaced the existing stream with an SslStream and it worked. Comes with Mime parser. Of the free libraries, I'd go for C#Mail or OpenPOP. I looked at a few commercial libraries: Chillkat, Rebex, RemObjects, JMail.net. Based on features, price and impression of the company I would probably go for Rebex and may in the future if my requirements change or I run into production issues with either of C#Mail or OpenPOP. Stop lazy loading or skip loading a property in NHibernate? Proxy cannot be serialized through WCF

Consider I have a parent, child relationship class and mapping. I am using NHibernate to read the object from the database, and intended to use WCF to send the object across the wire. Goal For reading the parent object, I want to selectively, at different execution path, decide when I would want to load the child object. Because I don't want to read more than what I needed. Those partially loaded object must be able to sent through WCF. When I mean I don't load it, neither side will access such property. Problem When such partially loaded object is being sent through WCF, as those property is marked as [DataContract], it cannot be serialized as the property is lazy load proxy instead of real known type. What I want to archive, or solution that I can think of lazy=false or lazy=true doesn't work. Former will eagerly fetch all the relationships, latter will create a proxy. But I want nothing instead - a null would be the best. I don't need lazy load. I hope to get a null for those references that I don't want to fetch. A null, but not just a proxy. This will makes WCF happy, and waste less time to have a lazy-load proxy constructed. Like could I have a null proxy factory? -OR- Or making WCF ignoring those property that's a proxy instead of real. I tried the IDataContractSurrogate solution, but only parent is passed to GetObjectToSerialize, I never observe an proxy being passed through GetObjectToSerialize, leaving no chance to un-proxy it. Edit After reading the comments, more surfing on the Internet... It seems to me that DTO would shift major part of the computation to the server side. But for the project I am working on, 50% of time the client is "smarter" than the server and the server is more like a data store with validation and verification. Though I agree the server is not exactly dumb - I have to decide when to fetch the extra references already, and DTO will make this very explicit. Maybe I should just take the pain. I didn't know http://automapper.codeplex.com/ before, this motivates me a little more to take the pain. On the other hand, I found http://trentacular.com/2009/08/how-to-use-nhibernate-lazy-initializing-proxies-with-web-services-or-wcf/, which seems to be working with IDataContractSurrogate.GetObjectToSerialize.

WCF custom certificate validation with BasicHttpBinding

I have a WCF application hosted on IIS 6 that needs to Have 2-way SSL authentication Validate client certificate content with some client host information Validate client certificate is issued by the valid subCA. I was able to do 1) successfully. I am trying to achieve 2) and 3) by following this - basically creating a class that inherits X509CertificateValidator and overriding the Validate method with my own validation implementation(step 2 and 3). I followed the MSDN instructions exactly however, it seem that the Validate method is not being called. I purposely throw a SecurityAccessDeniedException in the overidden Validate method and no exception is thrown when I tried to access the service via my browser. I can still access my website with any client certificate. I also read this thread but it didn't really help. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Wrap or adorn wpf listview datatemplate

I'm attempting to essentially wrap the contents of a DateTemplate in a listview gridview column with a border. What I want to know is if it's possible to supply an adorner that will surround that template so that I don't have to specify the border in every single datatemplate on every column (which is what I'm doing now). I've got something like this, but I know it's not right <Style TargetType="{x:Type ListBoxItem}"> <Setter Property="TemplateContent"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate> <StackPanel> <Border BorderBrush="Green" BorderThickness="1"> <AdornedElementPlaceholder /> </Border> </StackPanel> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> This complains that Templatecontent is not a valid type. I've also tried with DataTemplate and that doesn't work either (understandably so). I know I could just create a DataTemplate, however the content for each column is different. At the very least, it binds to different fields. I'm wondering if there's a solution using a dynamic resource, but I don't know much about it. Why does Sharepoint 2010 Web Reference work, but Service Reference does not

Sharepoint is setup to use NTLM authentication. When I reference http://myserver/Sites/Ops/_vti_bin/Lists.asmx?WSDL as a Web Reference, I can call the methods and get valid responses. When I reference the same url as a Service Reference, the server throws an exception when calling methods. My account is admin on the Sharepoint Farm. No other details. I would like to use the Service Reference rather than the Web Reference. UPDATE: I tried Rob's suggestion and got this error: HTTP GET Error URI: http://myserver/Sites/Ops/_vti_bin/Lists.asmx The document at the url http://myserver/Sites/Ops/_vti_bin/Lists.asmx was not recognized as a known document type.
