Would a LINQ for java be a useful tool? I have been working on a tool that will allow a Java object to map to a row in a database.
Would this be useful for Java
programmers?
What features would be
useful?
I am very close to completion of a mvc project which I want to make public.
I want people to review my codes and give me the feedback, so that I can improve my codes and make this project better. I will put this code on codeplex or at some other repository soon.
Or is there any better way to get it reviewed.
Also I havent written any test for that. I dont have much experience in that area, if somebody can do it, I will really be thankful.

We're trying to untangle a hairball of 100's of units, removing some.
It would be helpful if there was tool that would show us what units were explicitly using unit X.
Penganza doesn't seem to have a report that does that. (Although it has lots of other useful reports.)
Can anyone suggest a tool or strategy for doing this, other than just hiding unit x and then hitting F9 ... repeatedly?
Friends, I am trying to convert DO to DTO using java and looking for automated tool before start writing my own. I just wanted to know if there any free tool available for the same.
Hi
I wanted to know if their is any tool that can be used to create sql migration script of existing database in Ruby on Rails.
Also is their any visual tool that can be used to write Ruby on Rails migration script.
RedGate makes a tool for Microsoft SQL Server that allows you to snapshot the difference between two databases. It generates the scripts needed to update the database schema while preserving the data.
I need to find a tool like this for the Firebird database. We use Firebird in an embedded fashion, and would like to push out schema updates to remote machines with as little hassle as possible.
I'm trying to choose a tool for creating UML diagrams of all flavours. Usability is a major criteria for me, but I'd still take more power with a steeper learning curve and be happy. Free (as in beer) would be nice, but I'd be willing to pay if the tool's worth it. What should I be using?
Sometime back I used a windows tool to see what a process is doing. This tool allowed me to inspect functions exported from DLL. It also allowed me to change the values passed to a function on the fly.
I cannot recollect the name(not sure if that was free or commercial one). Could any one point to me solution that can do this?
(Tools like ProcessExplorer, ProcessMonitor helps a bit.. this was better)
Cheers,
Jayan
I know there are third-party tools available but why must I go to another vendor for something as trivial as auto-formatting my SQL statements?
What prevents MS to provide a SQL formatting tool in SQL Server Management Studio? What's the catch?
And btw, is there a FREE tool available that would plug into SSMS?
I'm looking for an ASCII diagram tool for producing diagrams from text. I only really need sequence and state type diagrams for now, but I'm curious as to what people would recommend? I need something which is standalone, not a web based tool that works on Linux, OSX and Windows.
Hi,
I want to know if there is any open source testing tool for cloud computing. We have built a cloud framework with Xen, Eucalyptus, Hadoop, HBase as different layers. I am not looking at testing each of these tools separately, but i want to test them from the perspective of fitting into a cloud environment (for example scalability of xen hypervisor to handle multiple VMs).
Would be great if you can suggest me some tool (open source) for the above.

I must say I really like the new code analysis with VS 2010, I have a lot of areas in my code where I am not using CultureInfo.InvariantCultureand code analysis is warming me about this.
I am pretty sure I want to use CultureInfo.InvariantCulturewhere ever code analysis has detected it is missing on Convert.ToString operations.
Is there anyway to get VS to automatically fix warnings of this type?
In sprite-based systems, it's common to fake rotation of a sprite by having many different images, each showing it rotated an extra few degrees.
Is there any free tool which will take a single image, and output a single image containing several rotations? It should also ideally let us control how many images are in each row.
e.g if I have a 32x32 sprite and I want it rotated at 10 degree intervals, the tool might generate a 320x32 file or a 160x64 file

In simple words we need to find how many times the string S="welcome to code jam" appears as a sub-sequence of given string S, e.g.
S="welcome to code jam"
T="wweellccoommee to code qps jam"
I know the theory but not good at DP in practice. Would you please explain step-by-step process to solve this DP problem on example and why it works?

Hello,
I need to choose the right CI build tool which will:
1. Support groups of build configurations so we can use the standardized build process for all our projects
2. Support dashboard with "pretty" (for executive/director "eye" :-) reports.
3. Support Java, Maven, Ant, and be somewhat customizable for build process itself (though this is optional, as I can "fix" it with scripts)
I'd prefer free and open source tool, but paid version is fine too.
Please help :-)
I want to use code access security and add code modify group. but I dont see .NET Configuration Tool in the administrator tools.
so where can I find this tool?
Thanks in advance.
Is there a good open source or reasonably priced EER modeling tool for MySQL besides MySQL Workbench? I find the MySQL Workbench interface to be clunky. I would like to be able to manage my production schema beginning all design changes in the EER and propogating those out to my schema for created and altered tables. Is anyone use a tool they love to manage their environments in this way?
Thanks. - Nick
Hi
I always asked myself if it would be possible to make a Java2C++ Converter.
Maybe a Tool that converts the Java Syntax to the C++ Syntax..
i am aware that the languages differ .. but simple things like loops where the semantic matches 1 on 1 ..
is there such a tool . or is it possible to make one ?
Hi, we want to test our webpages on linux shell. For that reason I'm looking for a shell tool, which gets the html page from server (like 'wget') and then executes contained Javascript, include pictures and so on. After this, the tool should give me a 'screenshot' of the rendered page, so that I can create a checksum for that screen. (So I want to the same as opening browser in Windows, open webpage and make a screenshot after page load, but on linux)
Can anyone give me a hint?
I am looking for an Eclipse plugin or some other tool that performs similiar functions as the IBM Rational PurifyPlus Quantify tool.
The problem i am facing with PurifyPlus is that it does not support the 1.6 JVM.
Any suggestions??
