• Possible to repair garbled Chinese filenames?

  I'm downloading via FTP some files with chinese names (BIG5 encoded), and Filezilla displays those filenames as garbage (as FTP cannot handle any encoding other than ASCII and UTF-8, as least the standard compliant ones). Given a filename with garbled characters, is it possible for me to repair the encoding and get a proper filename String given that I already know the source encoding? Will the FTP client misinterpreting BIG5 as UTF-8 insert bytes that make conversion back to BIG5 difficult?

  Hi all, I'm trying to port a MacOSX app to windows and I've come up against a problem around getifaddrs. Basically windows does not support it. I'm trying to figure a way to re-implement it (for AF_INET and AF_INET6) but the "equivalent" functionality on windows appears to be nothing like the MacOSX support. Has someone done this sort of conversion before? If so is there a nice way I can get windows to report me interface info like MacOSX does?

On Windows XP, if an application entry is WinMain, does Windows convert the command line from Unicode to Ansi and pass to the application? If the command line parameter must be in Unicode (for example, Unicode file name, conversion will cause some characters missing), does that mean that I must use wWinMain as the entry function?

If I use path or filename for the columns I get data back. I have set the properties to be cached, have tried both levels, and have rescanned full.   Is there a conversion utility from svn to hg that can deal with a branch hierarchy that's more complex than just a flat list of branches under /branches? My repository has a directory that looks (conceptually) like this: /branches /projectA /v1.x /v1.1 /v1.2 etc.. IOW I need a tool that can get a tree structure as input that represents the branch hierarchy, and migrate this into hg (could be flat in HG, don't really care).
