• What is necessary to run JavaScript files from MS Server 2003?

  I have created some JavaScript files and they run well from my Mac OS X Server. Now I have put the same JavaScript files on my MS Server 2003. But they don't work. Do I have to install something on the server in order to get them work? EDIT: (Sorry, I'm new and English is not my native language, so its hard for me to describe the situation well) I have downloaded this free Ajax Chat app. After enabling PHP on my Mac, it worked. But on my MS Windows 2003 Server it doesn't work. I installed PHP and Apache on Windows. PHP and Apache work well. But everything that uses JavaScript (such as drop down menus or pop-up windows) doesn't work. Thanks!

• Force blocking read after EAGAIN?

  I have a file descriptor that is open for reading which may be non-blocking. What I need to do is simply read all data until reaching EOF and write that data to a writable file descriptor. As the process that performs this copying is not "aware" of anything that is going on around it, I don't think that I can do something useful while waiting for data, and I don't want to use a while loop (while errno is not EAGAIN) because I think that it would be wasteful. Is there a way to block or otherwise suspend execution of the copying process until data becomes available?

• How would I authenticate against a local windows user on another machine in an ASP.NET application?

  In my ASP.NET application, I need to be able to authenticate/authorise against local Windows users/groups (ie. not Active Directory) on a different machine, as well as be able to change the passwords of said remote local Windows accounts. Yes, I know Active Directory is built for this sort of thing, but unfortunately the higher ups have decreed it needs to be done this way (so authentication against users in a database is out as well). I've tried using DirectoryEntry and WinNT like so: DirectoryEntry user = new DirectoryEntry(String.Format("WinNT://{0}/{1},User", serverName, username), username, password, AuthenticationTypes.Secure) but this results in an exception when you try to log in more than one user: Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again. I've tried making sure my DirectoryEntries are used inside a using block, so they're disposed properly, but this doesn't seem to fix the issue. Plus, even if that did work it is possible that two users could hit that line of code concurrently and therefore try to create multiple connections, so it would be fragile anyway. Is there a better way to authenticate against local Windows accounts on a remote machine, authorise against their groups, and change their passwords? Thanks for your help in advance.

• Jquery animate negative top and back to 0 - starts messing up after 3rd click

  The site in question is this one: http://www.pickmixmagazine.com/wordpress/ When you click on one of the posts (any of the boxes) an iframe will slide down from the top with the content in it. Once the "Home" button in the top left hand corner of the iframe is clicked, the iframe slides back up. This works perfectly the first 2 times, on the 3rd click on of a post, the content will slide down, but when the home button is clicked, the content slides back up normally but once it has slid all the way up to the position it should be in, the iframe drops straight back down to where it was before the home button was clicked, I click it again and then it works. • How can I get an image too big from a server?

  I'm currenty developing for blackberry and just bumped into this problem as i was trying to download an image from a server. The servlet which the device communicates with is working correctly, as I have made a number of tests for it. But it gives me the 413 HTTP error ("Request entity too large"). I figure i will just get the bytes, uhm, portion by portion. How can i accomplish this?   how can i know what tableview cell was selected?(being in the detail view) The problem is that. I have an table view controller. Here are parsed from the internet entries to the table. So it's a dynamic tabe view that loads from internet. I will not know how many entries will be in the table so i will not know what details view to call when i click a row. So i have maked one view. This view contains an calendar. On this calendar(wich is the detail iew) i will parse data from internet depending on the selected row. For exemple: i have table: entry 1, entry 2,entry 3,entry 4 When i click entry 2 i need to call a php with the argument entry 2. The php will know what entry on the table i have selected and will generate me the correct xml that i will parse. • sql server db deployment script ignoring constraints etc until commit

  Hi all, I am planning on doing a database deployment script for sql server 2005. Currently we have a tool that will run all of the tables, foreign keys, indexes and then data, each of which is located in a separate file with a certain extension (eg. tab, .kci, .fky) and the tool just runs *.tab, *.kci, *.fky into the db etc. Could I possibly combine all of thse into one file and have them run ignoring referential integrity until they are all complete, I would turn it on before we started inserting test data. It is just unmanageable having to maintain 4 or 5 different types of scripts for one table. Are there any issues I should be aware of? Cheers

• GhostScript PDF Merging (Losing Editable Fields)

  I'm using GhostScript to merge to PDFs into one PDF. One of the PDFs has textbox fields (editable fields) that I created in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9. When I merge these two PDFs with GhostScript I lose the textbox fields. Is there any way to merge these files (using GS or some other free linux software) that keeps the textbox fields intact?

  This is tricky to explain. We have a DataTable that contains a user configurable selection of columns, which are not known at compile time. Every column in the DataTable is of type String. We need to convert this DataTable into a strongly typed Collection of "ReturnItem" objects so that we can then sort and filter using LINQ for use in our application. We have made some progress as follows: We started with the basic DataTable. We then process the DataTable, creating a new "ReturnItem" object for each row This "ReturnItem" object has just two properties: ID ( string ) and Columns( List(object) ). The properties collection contains one entry for each column, representing a single DataRow. Each property is made Strongly Typed (int, string, datetime, etc). For example it would add a new "DateTime" object to the "ReturnItem" Columns List containing the value of the "Created" Datatable Column. The result is a List(ReturnItem) that we would then like to be able to Sort and Filter using LINQ based on the value in one of the properties, for example, sort on "Created" date. We have been using the LINQ Dynamic Query Library, which gets us so far, but it doesn't look like the way forward because we are using it over a List Collection of objects. Basically, my question boils down to: How can I use LINQ, to Sort and Filter items in a List(ReturnItem) collection, based on the values within a List(object) property which is part of the ReturnItem class?

• Servlet File Upload Memory Consumption

  Hi, I'm using a servlet to do a multi fileupload (using apache commons fileupload to help). A portion of my code is posted below. My problem is that if I upload several files at once, the memory consumption of the app server jumps rather drastically. This is probably OK if it were only until the file upload is finished, but the app server seems to hang on to the memory and never return it to the OS. I'm worried that when I put this into production I'll end up getting an out of memory exception on the server. Any ideas on why this is happening? • How can I access the int values of an object in an NSMutableArray?

  I try to access some values in a NSMutableArray I created, but I only get some numbers (address?) if I try to access them. I was able to initialize an array and can add and change objects with [myNSMutableArray addObject:[NSNumber numberWithInt:10]] and [myNSMutableArray replaceObjectAtIndex:0 withObject:[NSNumber numberWithInt:47] I also can print the value at index [0] with NSLog(@"%@", [myNSMutableArray objectAtIndex:0]); and I get 47 as expected. But how can I access the integer value of the object in the array so I can save it tomyIntValue?

  I wrote a program that makes a reference to Microsoft.Web.Administration.dll, which is not present on Windows Server 2003. • Why Solr admin query page interprets UTF-8 as ISO-8859-1

  I deploy a war to my Tomcat 6.0.35 on Win7 64bit and when I use full-interface query page (I mean form.jsp) in Solr Admin to query 2 Chinese character (say it's C1C2) , the debug info shows: <lst name="debug"> <str name="rawquerystring">æ°è</str> <str name="querystring">æ°è</str> <str name="parsedquery">NEWSID:æ°è</str> <str name="parsedquery_toString">NEWSID:æ°è</str> ... You can see C1C2 becomes æ°è. I deploy same war file to Tomcat on Linux or on another Win7 64bit of my colleagues' computer, the encoding acts well. • Print UITableView that has content off screen?

  Hi I have an iOS app that has the ability to print a UITableView. However, only th part of the tableview that is shown is printed. Is there a way to print the whole tableview, even if it has not been drawn yet? • Will C++0x support __stdcall or extern "C" capture-nothing lambdas?

  Yesterday I was thinking about whether it would be possible to use the convenience of C++0x lambda functions to write callbacks for Windows API functions. For example, what if I wanted to use a lambda as an EnumChildProc with EnumChildWindows? Something like: EnumChildWindows(hTrayWnd, CALLBACK [](HWND hWnd, LPARAM lParam) { // ... return static_cast<BOOL>(TRUE); // continue enumerating }, reinterpret_cast<LPARAM>(&myData)); Another use would be to write extern "C" callbacks for C routines. • Unit Test Sessions Window Closes when debugging

  When I select an NUnit test in the Unit Test Sessions window and click debug, the window disappears. My breakpoints are hit, but if I hit F5, the Unit Test Sessions window does not return until the test returns a result or I stop the debugging session. This is preventing me from viewing any console output during tests. Any ideas?

• Perl: getting handle for stdin to be used in cgi-bin script

  Using perl 5.8.8 on windows server I am writing a perl cgi script using Archive::Zip with to create on fly a zip that must be download by users: no issues on that side. The zip is managed in memory, no physical file is written to disk using temporary files or whatever. I am wondering how to allow zip downloading writing the stream to the browser. What I have done is something like: binmode (STDOUT); $zip->writeToFileHandle(*STDOUT, 0); but i feel insecure about this way to get the STDOUT as file handle. Is it correct and robust? • How do you make a WiX project build when dependent files have changes?

  Hi, I've adopted a Visual Studio solution that contains a number WiX projects. We build the solution from an MsBuild script to generate the product's installer msi. The problem I'm experiencing is that if I build (and don't rebuild), even if exe's and dll's get updated that need to be put in the installer, the WiX build system doesn't seem to detect this and skips building the installer as it thinks it's already up to date. How do I work out what the dependencies are that are needed to build a WiX project, and how do I tell the Wix build system to watch out for them changing so it knows to build instead of skip?

• Wordpress > Transfer google verification file to root directory on plugin activation/install

  I've got a wordpress plugin which presets several settings in a wordpress site and creates some default pages which are the same for all my sites. I would like to include an html file in my plugin zip package that is placed into the site's root directory "as is" (same file name, etc) The file is my google verification file, which is the same for all my sites, so I'd like to save a few steps and automate the process of installing it, along with my default setup steps that my plugin handles.   What is the XPath (in C# API to XDocument.XPathSelectElements(xpath, nsman) if it matters) to query all MyNodes from this document? <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <configuration> <MyNode xmlns="lcmp" attr="true"> <subnode /> </MyNode> </configuration I tried /configuration/MyNode which is wrong because it ignores the namespace. I tried /configuration/lcmp:MyNode which is wrong because lcmp is the URI, not the prefix. I tried /configuration/{lcmp}MyNode which failed because Additional information: '/configuration/{lcmp}MyNode' has an invalid token. EDIT: I can't use mgr.AddNamespace("df", "lcmp"); as some of the answerers have suggested. That requires that the XML parsing program know all the namespaces I plan to use ahead of time. Since this is meant to be applicable to any source file, I don't know which namespaces to manually add prefixes for. It seems like {my uri} is the XPath syntax, but Microsoft didn't bother implementing that... true?
