• How can I build a wrapper to wait for listening on a port?

  Hi, I am looking for a way of programmatically testing a script written with the asyncore Python module. My test consists of launching the script in question -- if a TCP listen socket is opened, the test passes. Otherwise, if the script dies before getting to that point, the test fails. The purpose of this is knowing if a nightly build works (at least up to a point) or not. I was thinking the best way to test would be to launch the script in some kind of sandbox wrapper which waits for a socket request. I don't care about actually listening for anything on that port, just intercepting the request and using that as an indication that my test passed. I think it would be preferable to intercept the open socket request, rather than polling at set intervals (I hate polling!). But I'm a bit out of my depths as far as how exactly to do this. Can I do this with a shell script? Or perhaps I need to override the asyncore module at the Python level? Thanks in advance, - B

  Hi, I am getting an error in my event viewer after deploying a wcf service on our server. The Messaging Engine received an error from transport adapter "WCF-BasicHttp" when notifying the adapter with the BatchComplete event. Reason "Value does not fall within the expected range.". The thing is, this service was running before and worked fine. I just modified a schema a bit, undeployed the service and redeployed. When I then talk to this service the event viewer shows me this message. If I deploy the same service locally it works fine. Also if I browse to my service with explorer it shows no errors. Normally when the receive location is wrong or the used user isn't in the isolated biztalk usergroup it gives an error here, but this isn't the case. Anyone have any idea what I should do? My problem is pretty urgent.. I googled my errormessage but without much success. Thanks yall

• Jar not found when executing class

  Hi there, I'm working through the ANTLR book and there are many examples that should be easy to compile using the command line. Some information to get te problem: antlr-3.2.jar contains the ANTLR classes. I added the antlr-3.2.jar to the CLASSPATH environment variable (Windows 7) and when compiling the classes with javac everything works fine. This is what i execute to compile my program: javac Test.java ExprLexer.java ExprParser.java Test.java contains my main()-method whereas ExprLexer and ExprParser are generated by ANTLR. All three classes use classes contained in the antlr-3.2.jar. But so far so good. As I just said, compiling works fine. It's when I try to execute the Test.class that I get trouble. This is what I type: java -cp ./ Test When executing this, the interpreter tells me that he can't find the ANTLR-classes contained in the antlr-3.2.jar, altough I added an entry in the CLASSPATH variable. • GWTAI applet integration in GWT problem

  Hi everybody. I'm working with gwtai to integrate a java applet into my gwt - project. Basic communication from my main application to the applet (such as invoking simple methods that return int or boolean values) works. But the main reason why I need to integrate this applet is, that I need it to connect to another server and receive a answer and pass it to my gwt-application. So there's one basic method in the applet: public String SendAndReceive(String host, int sendPort, int receivePort, String query) that connects to the server, receives an answer and returns this answer as a string. When I now try to invoke this method like this: applet.SendAndReceive("0.0.0.0", 9099, 2000, "show streams;"); I constantly run into following error (full error message at the end): com.google.gwt.core.client.JavaScriptException: (String): Error calling method on NPObject! [plugin exception: java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.util.PropertyPermission * read,write)] I couldn't find a solution (for gwtai is a quite uncommon topic), what I found out (and what the Exception let's one assume) is, that there's a security problem - maybe because I'm connecting to another server. I also read something about browser's Single Origin Policy, what would point in the same direction...up to now I have never worked with java applets. One of the agents I would like to create instruments the JComponent.getToolTipText() method to quickly identify any GUI class by just hovering the mouse cursor over it.   Right so i am working with hibernate gilead and gwt to persist my data on users and files of a website. my users have a list of file locations. i am using annotations to map my classes to the database. i am getting a org.hibernate.LazyInitializationException when i try to add file locations to the list that is held in the user class. this is a method below that is overridden from a external file upload servlet class that i am using. when the file uploads it calls this method. the user1 is loaded from the database elsewhere. the exception occurs at user1.getFileLocations().add(fileLocation); • Oracle JDBC intermittent Connection Issue

  I have found many people with simliar issues but no soultions...basically I have two eclipse plug-ins that both in ther class path rely on the same jar. The UI plug-in replies on the Driver plug-in (implementing a custom ODA driver and UI for it). On reboot I find that this line of code: ServiceHost wcfHost1 = new ServiceHost(typeof(WCFHost1)); in the OnStart() method of the service takes somewhere between 15 - 20 seconds to execute. Actually I have two such statements but the second one executes in a flash. It is the first one that takes so long. Does anyone know what could be causing the bottleneck? Because of this, sometimes the call exceeds 30 seconds and as a result the SCM thinks my service timed out while trying to initialize itself. Now, I know its easy for me to just spin off a thread to do this and return from OnStart() right away but I'd like to know what could cause this delay. This happens only when the service starts up on PC reboot. If the PC is up and running, the service starts & stops in less than a second.

• My service does not start on Windows 2008 (it works on Windows 2003)

  When we install our product on Windows 2008 SP2, couple of services fail to start. After trying different things, we figured out that these service were able to start when "Log on as" is set to "Local system account". This service does need to run as a specific user because it requires access to secure resources. The service did run just fine under this special user account under Windows 2003. I am thinking the problem is related to UAC (user access control). Under interactive mode one can elevate permission by answering the security dialog box. How to do the same for a service? How to configure the service so it runs with necessary permissions? Thanks! Couple of notes I would like to add. One solution I tried is to execute the installer as administrator. The service does get installed. However, it creates another problem. An embedded 3rd party product and its files get installed with admin only rights. So we do need to run the installer as logged in user.

I am trying to use jdk6 to run JBOSS 5.1, and I downloaded the JDK6 version of JBOSS 5.1. This works fine and my EAR application deploys fine. Is there any other way to make this work other than using the workaround I just described?

  In this example com.test.Cat extends com.test.Animal and there is no field DB in CAT table of com.test.Cat explicitly defining its type (it wasn't me). When I query my animals from DB I get a collection of Animals. It is possible to sort them by class name: order by r.class but is there a way to use class name as a criteria? • Google Web Toolkit Asynchronous Call from a Service Implementation

  I'm writing a simple Google Web Toolkit service which acts as a proxy, which will basically exist to allow the client to make a POST to a different server. The client essentially uses this service to request an HTTP call. The service has only one asynchronous method call, called ajax(), which should just forward the server response. My code for implementing the call looks like this: class ProxyServiceImpl extends RemoteServiceServlet implements ProxyService { @Override public Response ajax(String data) { RequestBuilder rb = /*make a request builder*/ RequestCallback rc = new RequestCallback() { @Override public void onResponseReceived(Response response) { /* Forward this response back to the client as the return value of the ajax method... somehow... */ } }; rb.sendRequest(data, requestCallback); return /* The response above... except I can't */; } } You can see the basic form of my problem, of course. The ajax() method is used asynchronously, but GWT decides to be smart and hide that from the dumb old developer, so they can just write normal Java code without callbacks. GWT services basically just do magic instead of accepting a callback parameter. The trouble arises, then, because GWT is hiding the callback object from me. I'm trying to make my own asynchronous call from the service implementation, but I can't, because GWT services assume that you behave synchronously in service implementations. How can I work around this and make an asynchronous call from my service method implementation?

• how to use Remote Service ?

  Hi im trying to use Remote Service btween two simple application, But its not easy to me. So any advice you have will help me. here`s my case. I made one app which is playing Music in service, There are two components. one is Activity controlling service by using three buttons, play,pause, stop. and it is working fine. and another one is just simple Activity which also has four buttons bind,play,stop,unbind. when i click bind, it`s confirmed by Toast msg, but when i click play button,it occurs error. i want to control first activitys Music playing service in second Activity. So im trying to use remote service. i made same .aidl file in each app project. In aidl file, i defined methods "playing","stoping" and i implement those methods in Music service class, implementation is simply use intent and startService & stopService. In DDMS there is "java.lang.SecurityException : Binder invocation to an incorrect interface" thats the case what im doing. So please tell me what`s the problem. any advice could help me. thanks Gun.

• changing asp .net web service namespace when already in productive state

  by some unfortunate events we published a web service with the tempuri-namespace a couple of months ago and no one did notice (not in our company, not the companies connecting to the web service) even though it's live since that time and lots of companies (~25 i guess) already access this web service. now i'm thinking of correcting that mistake and have the namespace fixed to a proper value. the only problem is: as soon as we would do it, all the programs and services connected to this web service would stop working. i can't really allow that to happen. is there any way to fix the namespace for future purpose or to have the web service operate under two namespaces as one web service? any tip at all what i could do to get rid of the tempuri-namespace and have it fixed without needing to synchronize the change with all the external companies? i'm all out of ideas, so any help would be much appreciated! thanks! I hope this question is alright here, first time user, found this through using search engines on my research and found tempuri.org related posts, just not the right one..
