  I have a Web Application. Sometimes I want to debug a console app that is within the solution. Why is it that when I right click on it and select debug, it builds every single webpage and libraries, which takes a while. When I look at build dependencies for the console app, it lists everything in the solution as the order and tells me to go to build order to change it. In build order, everything checks out... I only have checked the libraries that this console app needs. I also tried setting this console app as a start up project. Same thing... How do I get it so when I want to debug this console app, it only builds that and runs instead of building the entire solution before running?

• matrix = *((fxMatrix*)&d3dMatrix); //Evil?

  I've been using matrix = *((fxMatrix*)&d3dMatrix); for quite a while. It worked fine until my screen turned black and received a bucket of frustration on my desk. fxMatrix contains 4 fxVectors. fxVector used to be 16 bytes, but now it was suddenly 20. This was because it inherited fxStreamable, which added the vTable. So one solution is of course just to not inherit fxStreamable, and leave a comment saying that it must always be 16 bytes and never more. Another solution would be to make conversion functions, and copy the matrix completely. This makes it more secure, but has an impact on the performance. I suppose this is the best idea. Another solution is to not convert at all, and stick to D3DXMATRIX, but this makes the engine inconsistent and I personally really dislike this idea. What is your opinion?

• Detect at runtime which country's App Store my iPhone app was downloaded from?

  I have a feature in my iPhone application that, for business reasons, should only be shown/available to customers in the US. If I want to release this app to App Stores outside the US, what's the best way to figure out which country I'm in without relying on user-defined settings such as language and locale? In my mind, the ideal solution is that there's some runtime property that can tell me which App Store country the app was downloaded from, and I can take action accordingly. Looking through the docs and searching the web, I'm not coming up with anything in this department. I don't expect the solution to be 100% foolproof as far as users not being in the country they say they're from, but as close as possible would be nice. I suppose one solution would be to make a separate build for a new product on the App Store and have two versions, one for the US and one for the others, but that doesn't seem ideal. I'm hoping it can be the same product on the App Store to prevent things like fragmentation of user reviews. Thanks in advance!

  Hi, I have been reading templates,functors,callback function for the past week and have referred some good books and articles. I however feel that, unless I can get good practice - programming in templates and use functors-callbacks there is no way I can really understand all the concepts or fluently use them while coding. Could anyone suggest some articles or books or websites where , there is a definition of the problem and also a solution to the same. I could just write code for the problem and check later on if my solution is good enough.. I am also aware that some of our stack-overflow members are experts in templates and callback functions. It would be great if they could design a problem and also post a solution , where a lot of template beginners like me could benefit.

  A view is flipped using this: self.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeScale(-1, 1); // self is an UIView To rotate this view: -(void)handleRotate:(UIRotationGestureRecognizer *)recognizer { recognizer.view.transform = CGAffineTransformRotate(recognizer.view.transform, recognizer.rotation); recognizer.rotation = 0; } The issue is that after the view is flipped so is the rotation's direction. Any solution how to fix this? Edit: My current solution is using a boolean and negate the recognizer.rotation value in handleRotate method. But I am still looking for the technical solution.

  I have seen server side proxy workarounds for retrieving rss (xmls) from cross-domains. In fact this very question addressess my same problem but gives out a different solution. I have a constraint of do not use a proxy to retrieve rss feeds. And hence the Google AJAX Feed API solution also goes out of picture. Is there a client-only workaround for this problem. JSONP is the solution for requests that respond with JSON output. But here, I have RSS feeds which can respond with pure xml . How do I solve the problem.

  I'm looking for the way to get the direct link from mediafire. By default, when a user visits a download link, he will be presented with a download page where he has to wait for the download to be processed and then a link will appear. I googled and found a VB.NET 2008 solution to this using WebBrowser WB http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?t=556681 It works pretty well but I'm tired of pop-up windows and the loading speed. So, I wonder if there is a solution to this problem? (a non WB solution ^^) Any help is greatly appreciated.

• JQuery Tabs; Google Map is shown with just one tile

  Yes this problem is common and I have seen numerous solution on this site but none of them were helpful. I know that re-sizing will fix the problem. Not a jQuery expert and I don't know how to re-size the map after the page has been loaded and Headline 3 is active. I have created a JFiddle example.   For the past several years we have slowly built an Access-based front end to access our InformixSE database (unix). Our Sun server will be shut down in a couple of months and I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive solution for porting over the remainder of our old ".per" screens to a Windows-based solution. And even for the screens that have been reprogrammed, there's nothing that beats being able to query any field on the screen like you could with those simple-to-get-up-and-running Informix "Perform" screens. Does anyone have experience with a solution?

  I updated jQuery latest version v1.4.2 and getting 'Could not convert JavaScript argument arg 0' this error. Is the any common fix for this. I found some solution and they are saying that when finding dimension for display none element it will give this error. Also the following fix is working for me Placing this if (!elem || elem == document) elem = document.body above this line var computedStyle = defaultView.getComputedStyle(elem, null); I am not sure this is the proper solution. I first found this bug when using jquery blockUI plugin and after updating that plugin to latest version fixed this issue. Anyone suggest me better solution for this?

  I need to be able to center the image vertically for all the common resolutions. A lot of ppl here on SO have already asked this question before, and 90% of then give this tutorial http://www.jakpsatweb.cz/css/css-vertical-center-solution.html as an answer. However, when viewed at my 1280 by 1024 res monitor in FF, it's not centered. And worse yet, it breaks horribly in IE7. So, it's definitely NOT the answer. Am I chasing the impossible dream? The solution has to work for FF and IE 6/7 the solution can be anything that would work, though being a bit of a purist, I would prefer a div over table:)

  I have an solution with no projects in it. All I have in the solution are folders. When I add files to a folder in my solution by right clickcontext menuadd existing item, the new items I add open up by default. This is specially annoying when I have to add multiple files. Please note that the files that I am adding are not code files, they are documents and open up in their default application (e.g. .doc opens in word). Is there any way to disable this auto-open feature?

  We're currently storing answers for 52 predefined questions for our clients in our matchmaking site. we have over 30million unique users summing up for worst case of a 52x30million rows. Of these 52 questions, 11 are required and always answered. Our previous solution was to open an answer table for each question. This solution distributed our answer rows for faster insert/delete/update. But it also caused us an unconventional programming such as dynamically opening a table each time a question is added/updated, or removing an answer table if it was to be destroyed permanently. We want to come up with a better solution for our third version but could't get very far yet. Any ideas to accomplish this in any other, perhaps a more conventional, way?

For development environment, you can restart your noderunner.exe or some other services to release some memories. Then you can republish your workflow and it will work like a charm.

  Going back in time, I always had a problem with mathematics. It was a great subject and I loved it a lot but I only mastered it after practices a lot. I learned that mathematics problems should be addressed systematically and being verbose is not a trick, I learned to solve any problem. Recently one of reader sent me an email with the title “Mathematics problem – please help!” and I was a bit scared. I was good at mathematics but not the best. When I opened the email I was relieved as it was Mathematics problem with SQL Server. My friend received following error while working with SQL Server. Msg 3623, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 An invalid floating point operation occurred. The reasons for the error is simply that invalid usage of the mathematical function is attempted. Let me give you a few examples of the same. SELECT SQRT(-5); SELECT ACOS(-3); SELECT LOG(-9); If you run any of the above functions they will give you an error related to invalid floating point. Honestly there is no workaround except passing the function appropriate values. SQRT of a negative number will give you result in real numbers which is not supported at this point of time as well LOG of a negative number is not possible (because logarithm is the inverse function of an exponential function and the exponential function is NEVER negative). When I send above reply to my friend he did understand that he was passing incorrect value to the function. As mentioned earlier the only way to fix this issue is finding incorrect value and avoid passing it to the function. Every mathematics function is different and there is not a single solution to identify erroneous value passed. If you are facing this error and not able to figure out the solution. • Using PHP OCI8 with 32-bit PHP on Windows 64-bit

  The world migration from 32-bit to 64-bit operating systems is gaining pace. However I've seen a couple of customers having difficulty with the PHP OCI8 extension and Oracle DB on Windows 64-bit platforms. The errors vary depending how PHP is run. They may appear in the Apache or PHP log: Unable to load dynamic library 'C:\Program Files (x86)\PHP\ext\php_oci8_11g.dll' - %1 is not a valid Win32 application. or Warning oci_connect(): OCIEnvNlsCreate() failed. There is something wrong with your system - please check that PATH includes the directory with Oracle Instant Client libraries Other than IIS permission issues a common cause seems to be trying to use PHP with libraries from an Oracle 64-bit database on the same machine. There is currently no 64-bit version of PHP on http://php.net/ so there is a library mismatch. A solution is to install Oracle Instant Client 32-bit and make sure that PHP uses these libraries, while not interferring with the 64-bit database on the same machine. Warning: The following hacky steps come untested from a Linux user: Unzip Oracle Instant Client 32-bit and move it to C:\WINDOWS\SYSWOW64\INSTANTCLIENT_11_2. You may need to do this in a console with elevated permissions. Edit your PATH environment variable and insert C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\INSTANTCLIENT_11_2 in the directory list before the entry for the Oracle Home library. Windows makes it so all 32-bit applications that reference C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 actually see the contents of the C:\WINDOWS\SYSWOW64 directory. Your 64-bit database won't find an Instant Client in the real, physical C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 directory and will continue to use the database libraries. Some of our Windows team are concerned about this hack and prefer a more "correct" solution that (i) doesn't require changing the Windows system directory (ii) doesn't add to the "memory" burden about what was configured on the system (iii) works when there are multiple database versions installed. The solution is to write a script which will set the 64-bit (or 32-bit) Oracle libraries in the path as needed before invoking the relevant bit-ness application. This does have a weakness when the application is started as a service. As a footnote: If you don't have a local database and simply need to have 32-bit and 64-bit Instant Client accessible at the same time, try the "symbolic" link approach covered in the hack in this OTN forum thread. • SQL03070: This statement is not recognized in this context

  Recently I have started working with VS2010 and Fx4. There have been various challenges. We also introduced a new Database Project in our solution. And found this error. The reason for this error is: the project system expects the stored procedure as a create statement only.  The additional statements to drop if existing are not necessary within the project system.  Project deployment takes care of detecting if the sproc already exists and if it needs to be updated. To resolve this error you can simply remove the additional statements other then your create SP, Function etc. OR Exclude the file from build. Right Click on your file in Solution Explorer, Click Properties > Build Action > Not in Build

It is widely used in the industry: from small family businesses running on SQL Server 2008/2012 express to huge corporations with SQL Server clusters. There is one issue with the solution. Microsoft has not release SSRS viewer for ASP.NET MVC yet. That is why people usually mixing modern ASP.NET MVC enterprise applications with ASP.NET Web Forms pages to view report. Today I released ASP.NET MVC HTML helper which renders a basic ASP.NET Web Forms ReportViewer control inside an iframe. You can get it from NuGet. The package name is MvcReportViewer.
