    I´m working on a wordpress template. I´m trying to load the single.php of a post using ajax.   • Should all public methods of an API be documented?

    When writing "library" type classes, is it better practice to always write markup documentation (i.e. javadoc) in java or assume that the code can be "self-documenting"? For example, given the following method stub: /** * Copies all readable bytes from the provided input stream to the provided output * stream. The output stream will be flushed, but neither stream will be closed. * * @param inStream an InputStream from which to read bytes. * @param outStream an OutputStream to which to copy the read bytes. * @throws IOException if there are any errors reading or writing. */ public void copyStream(InputStream inStream, OutputStream outStream) throws IOException { // copy the stream } The javadoc seems to be self-evident, and noise that just needs to be updated if the funcion is changed at all. But the sentence about flushing and not closing the stream could be valuable. So, when writing a library, is it best to: a) always document b) document anything that isn't obvious c) never document (code should speak for itself!) I usually use b), myself (since the code can be self-documenting otherwise)...

    I have just installed the lastest RC of VS2010, which for me represents a shift from VS2008. A new comment formatting feature that I was looking forward to appears to be missing. About 6 months ago I read a Scott Gu blog post that mentioned a new VS2010 feature that would format /// style method comment blocks into more readable formatted regions inline with other code. The Scott Gu blog did not provide a screen shot but I was expecting the VS2010 editor to remove the XML tags from the /// method comment block and render just the essential text comment. Was this feature pulled during the Beta, or is there an option switch urking somewhere?

    I have Commenting system in my app. For a single video entry anyone can post a comment and someone else can post reply to that comment and replies, cannot have thier further reples, similar to StackOverflow is doing (1 Answer, and thier 1 or more replies).     VSDoc is an awesome way of commenting Javascript, and I particularly like the ability to make one Javascript file 'depend' on another. This paves the way for Javascript minifiers/combiners that take into account proper ordering of script includes. The only thing that might bother some is that it's VS-Doc. Are there any competing standards that are designed to be vendor-neutral? And how widely is the VSDoc standard used by non-Microsoft IDEs such as Eclipse, etc?

Who could help me so it also strips /** and the final slash /? Any help would be greatly appreciated! P.S: If, for instance, the commentlbock would contain something like /** * @foo Here's some slashes for ya: / and \ */ Then obviously the slashes after @foo may not be stripped. The reult would have to be: @foo Here's some slashes for ya: / and \ I hope there's a regex guru out there :-)

I would like to run doxygen in some directories and not in others! The problem is that I don't want to reorganize all the directories!     I have been making a threaded comment system as a way to learn php and javascript/jquery properly. Ive done bits and bobs in the past but ive made a new years resolution to learn it properly. Im having trouble inserting a reply form into the comment tree below the comment being replied to. I know this is probably pretty basic but how do you insert html into a page when someone clicks a link.
