How to remove a specific category on a selected mail in Outlook 2003 with Macro?

Hi, I am trying to transform my Outlook2003 into the closest thing to gmail. I started to use categories, which are pretty similar to labels in gmail. I can assign categories automatically with rules, and I can add categories manually. I have also created "search folders", that show all mails with a given category, if they are not in the Deleted Items or Sent Items folders. This part is almost like the Label views in gmail. Two things are missing basically, which should be done with macros (VBA to be precise) which I'm totally inexperienced with. So hence my questions: -Can someone show me a macro to remove the category "Inbox"? That would act exactly like the Archive button in gmail. In fact I want to assign this macro to a toolbar button and call it Archive. I have a rule that adds the Inbox category to all incoming mail. As I said, I have a search folder displaying all mails categorized as Inbox, and I also have an All Mail search folder, that displays all messages regardless whether they have the Inbox category. Exactly like gmail, just the easy archiving is missing. -Can someone show me a macro that would delete the selected mail/mails and also would remove the Inbox category before deletion? I would replace the default delete button with this macro. (Somewhat less important, as in my search folders I can filter messages that are physically placed in the Deleted Items folder, but it would be more elegant not to have mails categorized as Inbox in the trash. UIButton only responds in a small area

I'm trying to add a UIButton to a UIView, but am having some trouble with getting it to respond to touches. I use this in the following way: UIButton * anotherButton = [self niceSizeButtonWithTag:1]; [anotherButton setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"image" withExtension:@"png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [anotherButton setCenter:CGPointMake(middleOfView)]; [aView addSubview:anotherButton]; I create a lot of buttons like this, hence the reason for the method. The buttons are always created and added to the subview perfectly. I can see the image and they're in the correct position. The problem is that they only respond to touches in a tiny strip. In this attached image, The yellow shows the whole frame of the button, The red shows the area that will respond to touches. The grey shows a section of the view the button is added to. If anyone could shed some light on why this is happening, it would be really useful.

R : remove columns from dataframe where ALL values are NA

hello everybody! I'm having some trouble with my huge data frame and couldn't really resolve that question myself: The dataframe has some properties as columns and each row represents one data set. I've done some sanatizing to this dataframe (e.g. get rid of datasets which are not to be included in evaluation). (Whoever might be interested: Beforehand I aggregate around 5000 single text files and put them in a tsv, some of the proerties have a sequence number like "button.pressed.1" ... ""button.pressed.n". Some of the sets excluded had really high numbers for n but got excluded, all sets left have much smaller numbers for n but the property "button.presed.50" is still there and all remaining sets have an NA in that column. Actually its a different property but the example should clarify my intention...) So the question is quite simple (for some sophisticated R pro): I need to get rid of columns where for ALL rows the value is NA. Could someone please help me out? (All I have managed to get rid of columns where at least one NA exists which dropped about half my columns)...

Viewing, building & debugging Borland C++ Builder project in Visual Studio 2010

I would like to use VC2010 to handle a BCB 2006 project I have. I do not want to convert the code to VC since much UI will need to be ported. I just want to be able to view build & debug from VS IDE. Viewing: I assume once I create VS projects for the native BCB code viewing will be possible, although the UI editor will not. Building: I found the "C++ Native Multi-Targeting" option of VS, although I'm not sure on what to set the different options there to (Daffodil is mentioned as helpful although I'm not sure what the added value is over existing functionality). Debugging: not sure how to do this at all from within VS. There are some stand alone console tools that convert debug info files e.g. tds2pdb (wheres the documentation link?). If anyone has experience with such a task I would thank you for any advice.

Adapter for circle page indicator in android

I am currently working on an android application which have multiple pages. I am trying to use Circle page indicator to allow users view multiple pages by flipping over the screen. Each page has seperate XML file for the view and each page has a button which is bind to a java method in the Activity. I would like to know how to initalise all the buttons in the Activity for multiple pages. Because at the moment, I can only initalise the button for the first page of the views. I cannot initalise the button for second and third page. Does anyone know how to achieve this. I have placed all the jobs to be done for all the buttons in a single activity. Environment: ASP.NET web applicaition jQuery, ASP.NET AJAX Currently using ASP.NET Web Services The title says it all. One, how do i create an ASP.NET web service that is asynchronous? I've seen many articles, that show example with IAsyncResult and BeginMyWebServiceMethod and EndMyWebServiceMethod, some using ThreadPool etc. I would just like to know what is the simplest way to make an asynchronous web service method call (ideally without having to implement other classes, if possible). To me it should be as simple as adding an attribute to the method (but I think that is wishful thinking), e.g. public SomeWebService : WebService { [Asynchronous] public static bool SomeCheck() { // code } } I'm open to using WCF if that makes it easier (we converted to ASP.NET 3.5 around Christmas time). Once I have the asynchronous web service created, what is the best way to call it from client-side script? Via jQuery's $ajax or ASP.NET's auto generated class for a web service that is script method?

jCarousel not working properly within tabbed menu

Hi everybody, I'm riding three different jCarousel ul, one in each target of a tabbed menu designeb by Yetii. The problem issue is that the one in the first target works well, whereas the remaining two show just a slice of the first picture and slide soon onto a back frame. The jCarousel is initialized by a class as the behaviour required is the same for all targets: jQuery(document).ready(function() { jQuery('.jcarousel-skin-tango').jcarousel({ wrap: 'circular', //size:8, scroll:1, animation:.10, auto:5, }); }); The ul have different id. I have a database table. There is a field name "Sequence" that indicate sequence when user presents the rows in report or grid visually. When the rows are retrieved and presented in a grid, there are few UI gadget that allow user to reorder the rows arbitrary. The new sequence will be persist in database table when user commit the changes. Here are some UI operations: Move to first Move to last Move up 1 row Move down 1 row multi-select rows and move up or down multi-select rows and drag to new position For operation like "Move to first" or "Move to Last", it usually involve many rows and the sequence those rows would need to be updated accordingly. This may not be efficient enough at runtime. It is a common practice to use INTEGER as sequence's data type. Other solution is using "DOUBLE" or "FLOAT" that could overcome the mass update of row sequence but we will face problem if we reach the limit of precision.

Determining when stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString has finished

I have a UIWebView which loads up an HTML page. This page has two buttons on it, say Exit and Submit. I don't want users to be able to click the Exit button, so once the page has finished loading (ie. webViewDidFinishLoad is called), I use stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString to remove one of these buttons, by manipulating the HTML. I also disable user interaction on the UIWebView on webViewDidStartLoad, and enable it again on webViewDidFinishLoad. The problem I am finding is that stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString takes a second or two to complete, and it seems to be done in it's own thread. So what is happening is that webViewDidFinishLoad is called, user interaction is enabled on the UIWebView, and if the user is quick, they can click the Exit button before stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString has finished. As stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString seems to be on it's own thread with no way to know when it's finished (it doesnt call webViewDidFinishLoad), the only way to completely prevent users from tapping the Exit button that I can see is to only enable user interaction on the UIWebView after some delay, which is unreliable (how can I really know how long to delay for?). Am I correct in that stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString is done on it's on thread, and I have no way of being able to tell when it's finished? Any other suggestions for how to get around this problem? EDIT: In short, what I want to know is if it is possible to disable a UIWebView while stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString is executing, and re-enable the UIWebView when the javascript is finished. EDIT 2: There's an article here which seems to imply you can somehow poll the JS engine to see when it's finished, but I can't find any other references saying the same thing: http://drnicwilliams.com/2008/11/10/to-webkit-or-not-to-webkit-within-your-iphone-app/ EDIT 3 Based on the answer from Brad Smith, it seems that I actually need to know when the UIWebView has finished loading itself after the javascript has executed. Yet another C# Deadlock Debugging Question

Hi All, I have a multi-threaded application build in C# using VS2010 Professional. It's quite a large application and we've experienced the classing GUI cross-threading and deadlock issues before, but in the past month we've noticed the appears to lock up when left idle for around 20-30 minutes. The application is irresponsive and although it will repaint itself when other windows are dragged in front of the application and over it, the GUI still appears to be locked... interstingly (unlike if the GUI thread is being used for a considerable amount of time) the Close, Maximise and minimise buttons are also irresponsive and when clicked the little (Not Responding...) text is not displayed in the title of the application i.e. Windows still seems to think it's running fine. If I break/pause the application using the debugger, and view the threads that are running. There are 3 threads of our managed code that are running, and a few other worker threads whom the source code cannot be displayed for. The 3 threads that run are: The main/GUI thread A thread that loops indefinitely A thread that loops indefinitely If I step into threads 2 and 3, they appear to be looping correctly. They do not share locks (even with the main GUI thread) and they are not using the GUI thread at all. When stepping into the main/GUI thread however, it's broken on Application.Run... This problem screams deadlock to me, but what I don't understand is if it's deadlock, why can't I see the line of code the main/GUI thread is hanging on? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Let me know if you need more information... Thanks to everyone for their suggestions! Much appreciated! I've marked the answer that solved my initial problem of determining where on the main/UI thread the application hangs (I handn't turned off the "Enable Just My Code" option). The overall issue I was experiencing was indeed Deadlock, however. After obtaining the call-stack and popping the top half of it into Google I came across this which explains exactly what I was experiencing... http://timl.net/ This references a lovely guide to debugging the issue... http://www.aaronlerch.com/blog/2008/12/15/debugging-ui/ This identified a control I was constructing off the GUI thread. I did know this, however, and was marshalling calls correctly, but what I didn't realise was that behind the scenes this Control was subscribing to an event or set of events that are triggered when e.g. a Windows session is unlocked or the screensaver exits. These calls are always made on the main/UI thread and were blocking when it saw the call was made on the incorrect thread. Kim explains in more detail here... http://krgreenlee.blogspot.com/2007/09/onuserpreferencechanged-hang.html In the end I found an alternative solution which did not require this Control off the main/UI thread. That appears to have solved the problem and the application no longer hangs. I hope this helps anyone who's confronted by a similar problem. Thanks again to everyone on here who helped! Roo -----------------------------------------------------SOLUTION II-------------------------------------------------- Aren't threading issues delightful...you think you've solved it, and a month down the line it pops back up again. I still believe the solution above resolved an issue that would cause simillar behaviour, but we encountered the problem again. As we spent a while debugging this, I thought I'd update this question with our (hopefully) final solution: The problem appears to have been a bug in the Infragistics components in the WinForms 2010.1 release (no hot fixes). We had been running from around the time the freeze issue appeared (but had also added a bunch of other stuff too). After upgrading to WinForms 2010.3, we've yet to reproduce the issue (deja vu). See my question here for a bit more information: 'http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4077822/net-4-0-and-the-dreaded-onuserpreferencechanged-hang'. Hans has given a nice summary of the general issue. How can I make NSUndoManager's undo/redo action names work properly?

I'm learning Cocoa, and I've gotten undo to work without much trouble. But the setActionName: method is puzzling me. Here's a simple example: a toy app whose windows contain a single text label and two buttons. Press the On button and the label reads 'On'. Press the Off button and the label changes to read 'Off'. The item in the Edit menu reads 'Redo Turn Off Label', not 'Redo Turn On Label'. (When I click that menu item, the label does turn to On, as I'd expect, but this makes the menu item's name even more of a mystery. What am i misunderstanding, and how can I get these menu items to display the way I want them to?

IKImageView, Buttons work intermittently in 10.5 but ok in 10.6

Hi all, In IB,I have connected some buttons to a IKImageView. Using its received Action 'ZoomIn:', 'ZoomOut:','ZoomImageToActualSize:' When I build for 10.6 I have no issues these work as expected. But in 10.5 (ppc), they sometimes work as expected and sometimes do not. I have even tried it programatically. But I get the same results. It is intermittent with each build after I have made some small change in IB that I need. But not changes that should affect how the view acts. The only buttons that seem to work through out are 'ZoomImageToFit' and the rotate ones. When the do not work as expected, I see no change to the current image in the view, but when my app (/s, I have had this issue before in different apps) changes the image The view reflects the last request from a button. So for example when it does not work. An image is displayed, I click the 'ZoomImageToActualSize:' button, nothing happens. I load a new image and it is displayed at Actual size. Example when it does work. An image is displayed, I click the 'ZoomImageToActualSize:' button, It is displayed at Actual size. By the way, I know I can reset the view default , before I load a new image. Also if I run the 10.5 app in 10.6, it works ok, but as above I get intermittent results with the same build on multible 10.5 machines. Does anyone know what is going on, is this a known bug? Should onSaveInstanceState save the "enabledness" of the views?

Hi there, I have a preferences activity where I can change the language and the theme of my application. From there I return to the previous activity via the Back key, and I want to recreate the activity. I've managed to do that by reinitializing the layout in onResume and also calling onRestoreInstanceState from there. All the views are restored properly, with checkboxes checked if needed, edittexts filled with texts I left there previously. But I also have a button which is initially disabled, and becomes enabled only when a radiobutton is checked. The problem with it is the following: I check the radiobutton, the button becomes enabled. Then I go to settings, change the theme there, and return to the first activity. When I arrive there, the radiobutton is still checked, but the button is disabled. So it seems that the enabled/disabled state isn't being saved into the bundle, which seems counterintuitive. And I haven't found any code in the Android source that does this, too. Am I missing something, or do I have to write my own code for that?

Application with both console and gui mode

Hi, I have a python console app. Like most python console apps it uses the OptionParser module to take arguments. I've now developed a GUI for my app using wxPython and i'd like to integrate the two. I'd like my app to be run both from the console and from the OS's UI. When it is invoked from the console it runs as a console app and when it is double clicked in the OS's UI, it runs as a GUI app. How could I do something like this? Could someone show me a a snippet of what the __main__ block should be like? Thanks a ton.

What is the preferred way to associate css styles with GWT widgets (using UiBinder)?

From the GWT page (http://code.google.com/webtoolkit/doc/latest/DevGuideUiCss.html#cssfiles), it mentions 2 ways (for modern application): Using a CssResource contained within a ClientBundle. Using an inline element in a UiBinder template. Modern GWT applications typically use a combination of CssResource and UiBinder. So my question is, when should I use a css file and create a CssResource for it, and when should I define styles directly in the ui.xml file using <ui:style>? Are there any performance implication (i.e. resource size to download on the client) with either of these ways?

Why is a menu item disabled when using SWTBot?

I've written up a GUI test using SWTBot to test the Extract Method refactoring. I use editor.selectRange() to select a statement to extract into a method. But, when I run the unit test, the Extract Method refactoring menu item is disabled. Thus, SWTBot fails to invoke the refactoring. When we change org.eclipse.jdt.ui.actions.ExtractMethodAction so that the "Extract Method..." menu item is always enabled, our SWTBot passes. But, SWTBot should let us select the menu item without hacking the org.eclipse.jdt.ui plugin. The whole project containing the above unit test is available at github. I've also reported the problem on the Eclipse forum for SWTBot. But, we haven't received a solution from the forum.

Drag and drop + custom drawing in Android

I am working on something that needed custom drag-and-drop functionality, so I have been subclassing View, doing a bunch of math in response to touch events, and then rendering everything manually through code on the canvas in onDraw. Now, the more functionality I add, the more the code is growing out of control and I find myself writing a ton more code than I would expect to write in a high level environment like Android. Is this how it's done, or am I missing something? If I'm not doing anything fancy in the UI, the framework handles the majority of my interactions. Built-in controls handle the touches and drags, and my code is pretty much limited to business logic and data. Is there a way to leverage the power of some of the UI controls and things like animations while also doing some of it manually in the onDraw canvas? Is there an accepted standard of when to use one or the other (if indeed the two approaches can be mixed)?

Resizing a container when child's visibility is changed?

When I set the visible property to false for a child in a container, how can I get the container to resize? In the example bellow, when clicking on "Toggle", "containerB" is hidden, but the main container's scrollable area is not resized. Can we you the attached properties in C# class library?

Hi I have implemented the Observer Pattern with lazy load. The class that requests the data from the database is a singleton class. Now I am able to load the data from one database (located in one datacenter) very easily. But I need to get the data from other data centers too and display on the same UI. I can somehow pass the address of second data center and fetch the data from there also. But once I will get the data from second data center, it will be added to earlier list only. So later it will be thought for me to distinguish between the data. So I thought of attaching a property with the result set, so that while displaying the output I can show the data for both the data centers separately but on the same UI. I thought of attached property as an option where I can attach the data center name with the list of the data obtained. How is it possible to do in C#? Thanks Manas
