  • Image Upload directly from client to remote server? Spring/Tomcat

    Just wondering what the common solution is for this. We have two web servers that are load balanced and a separate server that holds our images. Our current process is that a user uploads an image directly to the web server (which ever they are connected to) and we enter a job into our DB. Another process checks for image jobs every few mins and copies the image from the web server up to the image server. The delay from when a user uploads to when its visible is not ideal. We could tighten the loop on how often we check for image jobs but ideally I would like to have user uploaded images to go directly to the image server rather than copying twice. How should this be done? Is there anything in spring to deal with this ? Seems like how most would deal with a CDN i would think? I want to limit the time it takes for an image that a user uploads is available on our site...

  • Questions about my program and Polymorphism

    Ok, so basically I'm creating a program which allows the user to select a shape (triangle, square, circle) and then it takes in a int and calculates the boundary length and area. I have no problem doing this and have a program that's working perfectly. (https://gist.github.com/anonymous/c63a03c129560a7b7434 4 classes) But now I have to implement this with polymorphism concepts and I'm honestly struggling as to how to do it. I have a basic idea of what I want to do when it comes to inheritance Main | Shapes / | \ triangle circle square But I don't understand how I'm supposed to override when all the methods within the triangle/square/circle classes are unique, there are no "abstract" methods as such that I could inherit from the "Shapes" class. If somebody could make look quickly at the code I linked and suggest a way to do this it would be much appreciated. Sorry if I was bad at explaining this. Thanks.

But now what i want is..as soon as user select one cell on first table, then in second table, the cell next to selected cell of the first table should be selected. means.... if user had selected the cell which is on column - 3 and row - 1 [ first table cell position ] then next table should automatically select the cell at column - 4 and row - 1 [ second table cell position ] i know how to get the selected row and column of jtable but i don't know how to set Select on jtable.

Is the Server socket at fault so it need to be recreated? For example wait a few seconds and then serverSocket = ServerSocketFactory.getDefault().createServerSocket(MY_PORT); However if the server socket is still OK, then it is a pity to close it and kill all previously accepted connections that are still communicating.

  • Fast response on first Socket I/O request but slow every other time when communicating with remote serial port

    I'm using sockets to pass Serial commands to a remote device. And the response to that request is sent back and printed out. However, I am having a problem in that the first time it is instant but the rest of the time it can take up to 20 seconds to receive a reply.     I have been asked to set up some authentication for some content on our website using JSP. What I would like to do seems simple to me but I can't quite figure out how to do it in JSP. What I would like to do is this: When a user requests a page that you must be logged in to see, I have a tag that checks their cookies for an authentication token. If it is not there, they are redirected to a login page. After they log in, I want to redirect them back to the page they first requested along with any parameters they were sending. Now, I have the tag that is checking their authentication and redirecting them to the login page. That part is working just fine. But I'm not sure how to maintain the first requested url and parameters so they can be redirected after they login. How might I accomplish this?

  • req.getParameter returns values wrong character encoding

    I'm trying to get values from a JSP using getParameter which includes ü,é,à etc. But get wrong values in servlet. I've checked the content type with firebug and found that Content-Type text/html;charset=UTF-8 checked the POST section with firebug and found the correct value there, when I try to access it in servlet it is wrong. Gives ö instead of ö req.getCharacterEncoding(); returns null. Tried with setting req.setCharacterEncoding("UTF-8"); at the beginning of servlet but didn't help.
