• Delay android PlusClient login request

  I am trying to implement the new PlayServices API within my android application to use a +1 button. I have it working nicely, all the expected functionality is there. However it has one rather annoying feature (seriously google!). When you instance the plusclient: mPlusClient = new PlusClient(this, this, this, Scopes.PLUS_PROFILE); Your user is presented with a "Pick your account" dialog (if they have more than one account) followed by a "grant access" dialog. I understand the need for these steps, however they really get in the way of the user experience! My initial activity (post splash screen) now has the +1 button, which means that you have to instance the PlusClient. Doing so in the onCreate() method (as google suggests) means that my user is given the "authorisation" screen before they even know what is going on! What I want to do it delay that untill they actually click the +1 button. That way they will know why they are being asked to authorise access to their account! Any ideas? I have tried using an onClick listener on the +1 button to instance but it didn't work.

What do I need to to if I want to include the lines contains pattern tag as well? Basically, I want the following output: <pattern name="pattern1"/> <failed> failure 1</failed> <failed> failure 2</failed> <pattern name="pattern2"/> <failed> failure 3</failed> I am doing this in javascript, I do not mind of doing some intermediate steps.

• Passing Request Object into Service Layer

  In a spring mvc + spring core app, we have have a view layers, a facade, a service layer, a dao layer and a stored-proc based persistance layer. The service layer is unaware of the clients that utilitize its methods. Is it fine to propagate raw http requests into the service layer? Or is it bad practice and a violation of the loose coupling principles? If it is, then what's a clean workaround?

• Failed to load viewstate...

  Yes, it's the infamous viewstate again! Now I am aware that problems can ocurr if you load controls in the wrong order or if the viewstate IDs are incorrect after postbacks etc etc. But my issue is that I am not really creating any controls dynamically - I only have one user control on the page. More importantly, the issue seems to be occuring with just one user. What could be the problem? Corrupt browser cache? Any help appreciated. thanks, KS

  HI volks, I try to set some hidden form field values with an onclick event. Ok, after I did something like this: document.getElementById('hidden_field').value = 123; I can output the value with the firebug console by entering this: alert(document.getElementById('hidden_field').value); So the values are definitely set. But now when I submit the form, the hidden field values are still empty. Do you have any idea whats going wrong? Thx for your answers.

This URL is a redirect to another page with query string, I already have a page that parses the query string and write the output to a page. But response is blank. How can i get this data?

• cURL/PHP Request Executes 50% of the Time

  After searching all over, I can't understand why cURL requests issued to a remote SSL-enabled host are successful only 50% or so of the time in my case. Here's the situation: I have a sequence of cURL requests, all of them issued to a HTTPS remote host, within a single PHP script that I run using the PHP CLI. Occasionally when I run the script the requests execute successfully, but for some reason most of the times I run it I get the following error from cURL: * About to connect() to www.virginia.edu port 443 (#0) * Trying 128.143.22.36... * connected * Connected to www.virginia.edu (128.143.22.36) port 443 (#0) * successfully set certificate verify locations: * CAfile: none CApath: /etc/ssl/certs * error:140943FC:SSL routines:SSL3_READ_BYTES:sslv3 alert bad record mac * Closing connection #0 If I try again a few times I get the same result, but then after a few tries the requests will go through successfully. Running the script after that again results in an error, and the pattern continues. Researching the error 'alert bad record mac' didn't give me anything helpful, and I hesitate to blame it on an SSL issue since the script still runs occasionally. I'm on Ubuntu Server 10.04, with php5 and php5-curl installed, as well as the latest version of openssl. In terms of cURL specific options, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER is set to false, and both CURLOPT_TIMEOUT and CURLOPT_CONNECTTIMEOUT are set to 4 seconds. Further illustrating this problem is the fact that the same exact situation occurs on my Mac OS X dev machine - the requests only go through ~50% of the time.

When the user enters their details in, and clicks submit, if validation fails and it returns them to the same view passing back in the view model, it won't default the password to what they entered.   I want to export in XML format some data from 7 tables (MySQL database), and then I want to import in another database. And I have a update or insert rule for data. I already have a SQL query retrieving all data, with JOINs on my 7 tables. But...when I try to put data in XML format, I reach a limit. My PHP loop can catch each row, but I would like to benefit from hierachical structure of the XML, and all I have are rows with the same data repeated. It is better to query once and to construct the XML tree in PHP or to query each time I want access to a lower level ?

  I have installed VS2010 and MVC2 and testing a simple form using tinyMCE. When I post the contents of the textarea in tinyMCE I get the dreaded YSD and the message "a potentially dangerous....." • Constantly getting ...DeviceMonitor] Failed to start monitoring

  I find that after running or debugging my application a few times using eclipse, that I get the above output in my console (in red) and I get no feedback from Dalvik as to the connection status to my phone is going. My application will still debug etc. I just get nothing useful in my Console. Any ideas how to fix this? It appears intermittent. It starts doing it after a few minutes, continues to do it for quite a while and occasionally goes away again. This has happened on my last laptop and now on my new laptop with a completely fresh install etc.

  I have a client server situation in which I receive data using read(socket, char_buf, BUF_SIZE) and then try to write it into a log file using write(filefd, char_buf, strlen(char_buf)) Strangely enough this fails (write returns -1), and yet the errno is set to 0, and I can print the message, AND the log file descriptor works (I write to it before and after this command). What's going on?? (Working on Linux kernel 2.4 (homework))

  I have an odd bug, this jQuery code executes correctly when calling the page via HTTP, but once I connect to the page via HTTPS it doesn't execute.   I use the DAO method Execute to delete some records. If this fails this is clear by checking RecordsAffected (it will be 0). But is it possible to get the error message (for instance, to log or to show to the user)? I've try to delete the records by hand in the Table grid I get a clear dialog message, e.g. "The record cannot be deleted or changed because tabel x includes related records".
