  • php, js - echoing a number based on how many children there are?

    Creating a site in with FrogCMS and using alot of jquery to create an all in one screen site. having trouble in php echoing a number for the number of children for a subject in the database which i can then use as a var in js. some things ive tried, but im not really a developer so having issues here is some code frog supplies to show to utilise articles for example, and articles then has childen in the database. find('/articles/'); ? children(array('limit' = 1, 'order' = 'page.created_on DESC')); ? but im not sure how to create a discrete number to use with the jquery concerning the number of children?? thanks

  • Problems loading controller from url with codeigniter?

    I'm currently in the process of putting up my first website for public use. I am using the codeigniter framework in order to do this, but I am having trouble loading the controllers from the url. I currently have the default codeigniter installment that you download trying to get things to work. The controller welcome is loaded by default, but when I try to load it through the url it doesn't work. I was having the same problem with the site that I had uploaded earlier. I have the following questions. What is the use of ever having a class definition inside a method? Will a class file be generated for TestMethodClass Its hard for me to imagine this concept in an Object Oriented manner. Having a class definition inside a behavior.   • C++ LoadLibrary() from the current path

    Hey, I'm a .net developer mostly, doing something small in C++ so im having a little trouble. I'm loading another C++ dll using hInst = LoadLibrary(TEXT("mydll.dll")); and I came to realize that this looks for the dll I'm trying to load in 'C:\' or in 'system32'. Can someone show me how to load the dll from the current directory (without knowing what the current directory is ahead of time) ?? I know I should be using something like GetFullPathName but I'm having a little trouble getting it to work on my own...

    Hi, In short: is there a way to compile and run single file in NetBeans or Visual Studio without having to setup and tinker with projects? I'm currently using code::blocks as my IDE. It's fast and very simple: perfect for my needs as a begginner. I wanted to dive a little deeper and try out a more advanced IDE such as NetBeans or Visual Studio. It appears I have to mess with projects and have a setup that seems overkill for having to compile and run one very simple .c/.cpp source file that contains less than 50-100 lines of code etc. Is there a way around this?

    hi I have the following simplified tables: CREATE TABLE recipe(id int, name varchar(25)); CREATE TABLE ingredient(name varchar(25)); CREATE TABLE uses_ingredient(recipe_id int, name varchar(25)); I want to make a query that returns all id's of recipes that contain both Chicken and Cream. I have tried SELECT recipe_id FROM uses_ingredient INNER JOIN (SELECT * FROM ingredient WHERE name="Chicken" OR name="Cream") USING (name) GROUP BY recipe_id HAVING COUNT(recipe_id) >= (SELECT COUNT(*) FROM theme); which gives me :"ERROR 1248 (42000): Every derived table must have its own alias" and is probably wrong too. Next I tried SELECT recipe_id FROM (SELECT * FROM ingredient WHERE name="Chicken" OR name="Cream") AS t INNER JOIN uses_ingredient USING (name) GROUP BY recipe_id HAVING COUNT(recipe_id)>= (SELECT COUNT(*) FROM t); which gives "ERROR 1146 (42S02): Table 'recipedb.t' doesn't exist" I want to avoid creating temporary tables including using ENGINE=MEMORY.

  • How to check total cache size using a program

    so I'm having some trouble creating a program to measure cache size in C. I understand the basic concept of going about this but I'm still having trouble figuring out exactly what I am doing wrong. Basically, I create an array of varying length (going by power of 2s) and access each element in the array and put it in a dummy variable. I go through the array and do this around 1000 times to negate the "noise" that would otherwise occur if I only did it once to get an accurate measurement for time. Then, I look for the size that causes a big jump in access time. Unfortunately, this is where I am having my problem, I don't see this jump using my code and clearly I am doing something wrong. Another thing is that I used /proc/cpuinfo to check the cache and it said the size was 6114 but that was not a power of 2. I was told to go by powers of 2 to figure out the cache can anyone explain why this is?   • Clone a 'link' in SWT

    I have a table of information that includes a username, an ip address, and a timestamp. What I wanted to do was to have the ip address contained within a link object that when the link is clicked it utilizes bgp.he.net to get information about the host/IP address. I have tried creating threads to resolve the IP addresses but it is often a large amount of IP addresses and I read that InetAddress#getByName isn't non-blocking, so I figured having links that go to this site is the next best thing. Question is: Is it possible to have links for each of my IP addresses in the table without creating a new link object for each row? I don't know how bad that would be on memory usage which is why I'm inquiring about cloning an instance of an IP and having the link open bgp.he.net/link.getText()

My question is how to make it work on the numbers (Ex. 212 212 43 43 5689 6689 5689 71 81 === output should be 212 43 5689 6689 71 81) ?   • MySQL LEFT JOIN issue with three WHERE statements

    I am building a note taking app for myself with tag filtering functions, but am having an issue when trying to grab notes with the tags. The tag filter needs to use AND not IN, because it will help better narrow down what I am looking for. My tables are configured like this: + notes note_id | note_title | note_uid + tags tag_id | tag_title + notes_tags nt_id | nt_note_id | nt_tag_id The notes_tags table keeps track of all notes' tags. I am not worried about returning any information about tags, so here is an example LEFT JOIN I am using currently to only get notes with only 1 tag. SELECT * FROM notes_tags LEFT JOIN notes ON note_id = nt_note_id WHERE note_uid IN ( 1 ) AND nt_tag_id = 10 This query runs perfect, it grabs all of the notes with that single tag. However, I am having issues "pinpointing" my notes using a query like this: SELECT * FROM notes_tags LEFT JOIN notes ON note_id = nt_note_id WHERE note_uid IN ( 1 ) AND nt_tag_id = 10 AND nt_tag_id = 11 What am I doing wrong with the syntax?

  • WPF - collapsing grid cells

    Hi, I'm having some problems with the layout of buttons on a screen. There are a number of buttons with the visibility set to collapsed depending on certain criteria. Anyway, with the buttons sitting in a stackpanel, the contents determine the width of the buttons. Because these should share the same size, I put them in a grid where the columns are using the SharedSizeGroup. Having done this, buttons now all share the same width, the smallest width needed to display the button with the largest content. What it does mean though is that buttons don't display at the required position. That is - assume five buttons in columns 0-4 where the first button is collapsed, buttons should ideally all shift to the left so that they always occupy space left to right. Is there any way I can accomplish this or, if not, how can I get buttons in a stackpanel to share the same width? Any help is much appreciated.

    Hi I am having trouble with the onmouseout function in a absolute positoned div. When the mouse hits a child element in the div, the mouseout event fires, but I do not want it to fire until the mouse is out of the parent, absolute div. How can I prevent the mouseout event from firing when it hits a child element WITHOUT jquery. I know this has something to do with event bubbling, but I am having no luck on finding out how to work this out. A similar post I found here: How to disable mouseout events triggered by child elements? How ever that solution uses jquery.

    I'm having some trouble understanding how the delay macro works in Clojure. It doesn't seem to do what expect it to do (that is: delaying evaluation). As you can see in this code sample: ; returns the current time (defn get-timestamp [] (.getTime (java.util.Date.))) ; var should contain the current timestamp after calling "force" (def current-time (delay (get-timestamp))) However, calling current-time in the REPL appears to immediately evaluate the expression, even without having used the force macro: user=> current-time #<Delay@19b5217: 1276376485859> user=> (force current-time) 1276376485859 Why was the evaluation of get-timestamp not delayed until the first force call?

    We are having a massive system having around 15 servers hosting .Net WCF services, mvc application etc. When we do a deployment (out of office hours) we have to uninstall and install everything on the live servers. This takes lot of time and if something goes wrong we have to rollback everything. can you please suggest something different to this? like Deply into a other environment (whenever you like) and switch the URL to point to new servers [This comes with the overhead of cost of maintaining 2 copies of production (active and passive)] any other ideas please.

    Say I have a ClassWithManyDependencies. I want to write a Guice Provider for this class, in order to create a fresh instance of the class several times in my program (another class will depend on this Provider and use it at several points to create new instances). One way to achieve this is by having the Provider depend on all the dependencies of ClassWithManyDependencies. This is quite ugly. Is there a better way to achieve this? Note - I certainly don't want the Provider to depend on the injector. Another option I considered is having ClassWithManyDependencies and ClassWithManyDependenciesProvider extend the same base class, but it's butt ugly.

  • Lucene case sensitive & insensitive search

    I have a Lucene index which is currently case sensitive. I want to add the option of having a case insensitive search as a fall-back. This means that results that match the case will get more weight and will appear first. For example, if the number of results is limited to 10, and there are 10 matches which match my case, this is enough. If I only found 7 results, I can add 3 more results from the case-insensitive search. My case is actually more complex, since I have items with different weights. Ideally, having a match with "wrong" case will add some weight. Needless to say, I do not want duplicate results. One possible approach is to have 2 indexes. One with case and one without and search both. Naturally, there's some redundancy here, since I need to index twice. Is there a better solution? Ideas?

    I'm having a really hard time trying to figure out how can I store or pass a type in scala. What I want to achive is something like this: abstract class Foo( val theType : type ) object Foo{ case object Foo1 extends Foo(String) case object Foo2 extends Foo(Long) } So at some point I can do this: theFoo match{ case String => "Is a string" case Long => "Is a long" } and when obtaining the object being able to cast it: theFoo.asInstanceOf[Foo1.theType] Is this possible? If is possible, is a good aproach? What I'm trying to achieve ultimately is writing a pseudo schema for byte stream treatment. E.g if I have an schema Array(Foo1,Foo1,Foo2,Foo3,Foo1) I could parse Arrays of bytes that complain with that schema, if at some point I have a different stream of bytes I could just write a new schema Array(Foo3, Foo4, Foo5) without having to reimplement parsing logic.   • MATLAB: How do I get 3D coordiantes from a user-click?

    I'm using Matlab to create a small chess game for one of my courses this semester. The thing I'm having trouble with is having the user be able to select one of the chess pieces. To simplify things, I'm making it so that the user selects a piece by clicking on the square that the chess piece resides on rather than clicking the piece itself (which I assume would be much more difficult). I know how to get the x and y coordinates of the view-port, but how do I transform these coordinates into 3-space coordinates? I know that there are multiple x,y,z coordinates associated with each view-port coordinate, but I'm only interested in the x,y,z coordinate where z = 0 (since the board itself is in the x,y plane that intersects the z axis where z = 0).     I've got table vendorparts that lists all my parts and their vendor(s). Parts with multiple vendors have multiple records in this table. I'm trying to write a query that only returns the partid, and vendor of parts that do not have a default vendor assigned. Partid Vendor Defaultflag 1 A 1 2 B 0 2 C 0 3 D 0 3 E 0 3 F 1 4 G 0 I would like to return the following: Partid Vendor 2 A 2 B 4 G I'm obviously having issues with partid 3 and getting the query to see it as having a default vendor assigned.

  • Firewall configuration. (Windows server 2008)

    Hello. I'm having a little problem with configuring the firewall on my server. I only want a specific range of IPs to be able to access specific ports. For example, I'm having alot of password attempts to some of my servers, so I want to make it more safe by only allowing incoming connections from a specific range of domain. Example: My IP is usually adsl-324-4.somecompany.com so I want to allow *.somecpompany.com to connect, as my IP is dynamic. That would get rid of alot of attempts to hack into my servers. But I have no idea how to mask a domain like that for the firewall. How could I for example allow all incoming connections from *.is? Thanks.
