  • How do TAB & SHIFT-TAB get reversed in Entourage?

    In Microsoft Entourage, I can use Tab to move the highlighted selection from "Inbox" in the left-hand column: ...to the list of email in my inbox: And Shift-Tab returns the selection to the left-hand column again. But once-in-a-while when I return to Entourage (but never immediately after launching it), Tab and Shift-Tab are reversed. That is, I need to use Shift-Tab to move the highlighted selection to the list of email and Tab to return the selection to the left-hand column. I don't know what causes this, and I find it so annoying that I'll restart Entourage just to restore Tab and Shift-Tab to what my muscle-memory expects. What is causing them to get reversed, and can I un-reverse them without restarting Entourage?

You can use this code freely in commercial projects and modify it as you wish, but not sell it2. If you want to sell a modified version, drop me an email first, or give credits to me Edit: The above example is ambiguous, so I am giving another one, I want to know if 3 lines of license will hold some ground: SomeGuy's License:1. You can use this code in a commercial project as a 3rd party library2. You can't sell it as a derivative work I know that such license is not polished at all, for example the Creative Commons set of licenses seem to be short, but actually have some large legal stuff underneath it, but I wonder if at least some level of protection can be gained with a hobby license like that ? My question is, could this hold any ground in the court, or would the corporative lawyers of the company X tear it apart ?

  • Force a Windows 7 user to change password when it has expired

    Is it possible to force users (on Windows 7 PCs) to change their password once it has expired? Currently our users get notifications that their passwords will expire in 7, 3, 2 and 1 days but once the password has expired they are still able to log into their machines with the expired password. Most of our users ignore the warnings and don't change their password until we tell them they have to (when they ring Help Desk asking why their email and intranet isn't working). From memory, Windows XP machines would show a message at login that the password had expired and then offer the change password screen. Is it possible to do the same thing under Win7? Similar to how if you set a user's account to "must change password at next login" it gives the change password screen automatically.

    I am a long time Mac user and I'm now using a Ubuntu machine for development, and while I'm more or less used to a lot of the keyboard shortcuts, one thing I can't get used to is using the 'Home' and 'End' keys to move around lines of text. On a Mac you use "Command + right arrow" to go to the end of a line and "Command + left arrow" to go to the beginning. Is there a way to enable this kind of functionality in Linux? I'm not sure if this would be considered remapping, keyboard shortcuts, or what...

  • In Stud, which Private RSA Key should be concatenated in the x509 SSL certificate pem file to avoid "self-signed" browser warning?

    I'm trying to implement Stud as an SSL termination point before HAProxy as a proof of concept for WebSockets routing. My domain registrar Gandi.net offers free 1-year SSL certs. Through OpenSSL, I generated a CSR which gave me two files: domain.key domain.csr I gave domain.csr to my trusted authority and they gave me two files: domain.cert GandiStandardSSLCA.pem (I think this is referred to as the intermediary cert?) This is where I encountered friction: Stud, which uses OpenSSL, expects there to be an "rsa private key" in the "pem-file" - which it describes as "SSL x509 certificate file. REQUIRED." If I add the domain.key to the bottom of Stud's pem-file, Stud will start but I receive the browser warning saying "The certificate is self-signed." If I omit the domain.key Stud will not start and throws an error triggered by an OpenSSL function that appears intended to determine whether or not my "pem-file" contains an "RSA Private Key". At this point I cannot determine whether the problem is: Free SSL cert will always be self-signed and will always cause browser to present warning I'm just not using Stud correctly I'm using the wrong "RSA private key" The CA domain cert, the intermediary cert, and the private key are in the wrong order.

    I am trying to install a package that depends on python-keybinder and hence on libkeybinder. When I run makepkg for libkeybinder, it starts and after sometime I get the following error: checking for XkbQueryExtension... no configure: error: Could not find XKB ==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build(). Aborting... ==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build libkeybinder. I tried checking the pkgbuild but wasn't able to find anything. :( Is there a workaround?

  • iterm2 emacsclient keybindings

    I have just switched from using Emacs.app to emacsserver and emacsclient in terminal mode using iterm2 as my terminal emulator. I am having some trouble with some keybindings though. Particularly M-left arrow prints the character D, M-right arrow prints C, M-up arrow prints A, and M-down arrow prints B. I am using the xterm defaults for keys in iterm2 and have the left and right option keys bound to +Esc. This is particularly annoying in org-mode. Am I going to have to just rebind the keys in my .emacs? How would I go about doing that?

  • Is it possible to get ESC to behave as an actual escape key?

    So I have finally switched, not so much because I'm yet convinced Emacs in itself is the better editor but because it certainly does have more powerful extensions. I am still using vim-mode though, perhaps that's part of my problem... but I really don't intend to abandon the modes-approach, so I'll probably stay with it. I'm getting along quite well, but one thing I find really unnerving is the behaviour of the esc key (which I have in the shift-lock position). I'm used to relying on this a lot as more or less a "panic key", which may not be nice but I find allows me to work generally quite a bit less caring about the keystrokes themselves, and thus faster. What I'd like this key to do is just get me out of any minibuffer or special editing mode into a well-defined normal state. Perhaps most importantly, I would like it to not do anything unrelated, Simulate meta. What do I have an alt key for? Close windows I'm not even in at the time. Getting interpreted as the final key in some key sequence. ... Is it possible to turn all that off and make esc an actual escape key? Vim-mode does make it behave kind of as I like in some situations, but when other plugins are involves this often breaks. Alternatively, are there different options that might suit my kind of workflow?

  • Simple way to get keys/mouse buttons working in Synergy (mac client, pc server)

    I'm trying to get Synergy working running as client on my Mac with SynergyKM Preferences panel. It's performing generally fine (just some real slow downs when my network is under heavy use, usually from youtube videos). The main thing I want to get working is none of the special buttons on my mouse are working on the client.. just the scroll and middle click.. but I have back/forward buttons I'd like to have working. Also my Windows Comfort Curve Keyboard has some extra keys and I'd like to know how to set those up to perform operations on my Mac client. I could have sworn that home/end weren't working but they seem to be now.. perhaps it's application specific..

    Hi, I have a datatable with as search fields. I want a method on the backing bean to be invoked when ENTER key is pressed, as well as the DataTable to be re-rendered. My approach so far only works in IE 6, and 7, not in FF. As said before, this only works in IE 6 and IE 7. Does anyone know why it does not work in FF? An alternative I was considering was HotKey, which can indeed catch the event of ENTER, but it can only invoke Javascript, so it isn't appropriate. Is the proper way to do this via RichFaces or plain JSF? Cheers!     I'm having a problem with LINQ. I have 2 tables (Parent-child relation) Table1: Events (EventID, Description) Table2: Groups (GroupID, EventID(FK), Description) Now i want to create an Event an and a child. Event e = new Event(); e.Description = "test"; Datacontext.Events.InsertOnSubmit(event) Group g = new Group(); g.Description = "test2"; g.EventID = e.EventID; Datacontext.Groups.InsertOnSubmit(g); Datacontext.SubmitChanges(); When i debug, i can see that after inserting the event. the EventID has gotten a new value (auto increment). But when Datacontext.SubmitChanges(); gets called. I get the following exception "The INSERT statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint ... I know this can be solved by creating a relation in the LINQ diagram between Events and groups. And then setting the entity itself. But i don't want to load the events everytime i ask a list of groups. All i need is some way that when inserting the group fails, the event insert won't be comitted in the database. Sorry if this is a bit unclear, My english isn't really good. Thanks in advance!

My notes id is generate from another table counter, with the function dirty_update_counter. My function for the id_notes from tag looks like this: Fun = fun() -> mnesia:write(#tag{ id_note =0}) end, mnesia:transaction(Fun). generate_Oid(TableName) when is_atom(TableName) -> F = fun() -> [Oid] = mnesia:read(tag, TableName, write), NewId = Oid#tag.id_note+1, New = Oid#tag{id_note = NewId}, mnesia:write(New), NewId end, mnesia:transaction(F). insert_n(N) when is_record(N, note) -> F = fun() -> {atomic, Id} = generate_Oid(note), New = N#note{id = Id}, mnesia:write(New), New end, mnesia:transaction(F). find_n(Id) when is_integer(Id) -> {atomic, [N]} = mnesia:transaction(fun() -> mnesia:read({note, Id}) end), N. But this function don't increment my field id_note from the table tag, despite the fact that in my note table, my id field is incremented from counter table. Thanks in advance for any help.

  • SSL certificates: No Client certificate key exhange

    I am trying to access a WCF web service, that is using two way SSL encryption. When I try to call the service I get a System.ServiceModel.Security.SecurityNegotiationException: Could not establish secure channel for SSL/TLS with authority 'XXX.xx'. --- System.Net.WebException: The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel. I have tried activating wire shark, to see what is sent to and from the server: I see a client hello and a server hello. But there is no client response to the server hello. I was expecting a "Certificate. Client key exchange. Change cipher. Encrypted handshake Message" package, but none is sent. I'm thinking it is a problem with the certificate sent by the server, that somehow my client server does not trusy it. Here is what I have already tried: I have created the certificate, through the proper authority, though I could have made a mistake in the certificate request without knowing it. I have added the two root certificates to: trusted root certificates, trusted publishers and trusted people. I have also added the client certificate to trusted people. My colleague has succeded in establishing connection on a win 2008 server (i'm using a 2003, because it is necessary for some odd reason - don't ask). I can't see any differences in our approach, so i'm a bit lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Understanding Flash SWC's imported into Flex Builder 3 and key framed animation

    I am trying to understand what is going on in a SWC that I am importing from Flash CS4 into Flex Builder 3. Specifically I am using a SWC supplied by a Designer as the animation for a custom preloader (a subclassed DownloadProgressBar). The issue I am trying to understand is, once the FlexEvent.INIT_COMPLETE is fired, I cleanup by removing the swc by running this : removeChild(myPreloader); myPreloader = null; though even after I have removed this (which is successful, as I have checked by comparing this.numChildren before and after the call) the key framed animation still continues to run (not visibly). This has been detected by the Designer placing a trace in the time line of the animation (in Flash). Can anyone tell me why is it, that even after I have removed the animation from the subclassed DownloadProgressBar, it still keeps running ? Also, is it standard practice when importing SWCs to manage the cleanup of resources from the Flash side of things (much like releasing memory in obj-c). I find it counter intuitive that removing the child from the Flex side does not stop the animation. Any clues to this would be greatly appreciated.

How/Where do I specify the iterator index (which should be 3 for age & eligibility)? I will include other composite keys in the future. What exactly are the two iterators in std::pair? (I'm copying syntax from an example that I don't understand.) I would ideally use std::count to calculate the number of elements of age partnerAge that are eligible (return false to Host::isPaired()). What is the syntax for extracting the sorted index that meets these requirements? I'm obviously still learning C++ syntax. Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi, I have some trouble testing my Android application which includes the google maps API. The ooficial API example worked just fine but if I copy the code into my own project it keeps saying: "The application has stopped unexpectedly". I looked up the key in the keystore several times and registered it with google. Even tried reinstalling the SDK. Does anybody know what the problem is?     Hi, I'm using Hibernate with annotations (in spring), and I have an object which has an ordered, many-to-one relationship which a child object which has a composite primary key, one component of which is a foreign key back to the id of the parent object. The structure looks something like this: +=============+ +================+ | ParentObj | | ObjectChild | +-------------+ 1 0..* +----------------+ | id (pk) |-----------------| parentId | | ... | | name | +=============+ | pos | | ... | +================+ I've tried a variety of combinations of annotations, none of which seem to work. This is the closest I've been able to come up with: @Entity public class ParentObject { @Column(nullable=false, updatable=false) private String id; @OneToMany(mappedBy="object", fetch=FetchType.EAGER) @IndexColumn(name = "pos", base=0) private List<ObjectChild> attrs; ... } @Entity public class ChildObject { @Embeddable public static class Pk implements Serializable { @Column(nullable=false, updatable=false) private String objectId; @Column(nullable=false, updatable=false) private String name; @Column(nullable=false, updatable=false) private int pos; ... } @EmbeddedId private Pk pk; @ManyToOne @JoinColumn(name="parentId") private ParentObject parent; ... } I arrived at this after a long bout of experimentation in which most of my other attempts yielded entities which hibernate couldn't even load for various reasons. The error I get when I try to read one of these objects (they seem to save OK), I get an error of this form: org.hibernate.exception.SQLGrammarException: could not initialize a collection: ... And the root cause is this: com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLSyntaxErrorException: Unknown column 'attrs0_.id' in 'field list' I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but the documentation is not clear on this matter, and I haven't been able to find any examples of this anywhere else.
