• NSURLConnection still calls delegate AFTER cancel method has been called

  Hi All, Having a problem with NSURLConnection, if I create a NSURLConnection and call [connection connectionWithRequest] let it load a little then call [connection cancel] most of the time that works fine. However occasionally even after I call [connection cancel] the connection's delegate still gets called (which crashes the app). Googling around it looks like the problem here is a race condition in the runloop, I cancel the connection and release the delegate but before the runloop cycles it calls the delegate functions - crash. Is there a way for me to, after I call [connection cancel] confirm the connection has actually canceled? Even a crappy while() loop will do :(

  I want to wait for latitude.text and longtitude.text to be filled in before sending a tweet, this code works fine, but I would rather not put the tweeting part in locationManager because I also want to sometimes update the current location without sending a tweet.   i have this in the superview: mySubView = [[MySubView alloc] init]; [self addSubview:mySubView]; [mySubView release]; then at some point later, in the sub view, this: [self removeFromSuperview]; when i debug it, i notice that the dealloc for the subview is never called, even though i'm fairly sure the reference count should be 0. any ideas why this might be? thanks.

It has a few different modes, each of which require an external process to be launched, during which the icon is simply highlighted, and appears to be frozen. Is there any native method for accomplishing this (e.g. some instance of NSProgressIndicator?) or must I manually display an animation by cycling through a set of images?   Hi, I use a UITabBarController with 4 views. The first of those 4 views should be able to rotate, the other three not. And now the problem is, when having a tab bar controller you have to set all used views to rotatable (i.e. returning TRUE in shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation). So, my question is now, can I prevent the three views from rotation even though the shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation method returns TRUE? Thanks for your help. Regards Matthias

  I have a TableView controller class that uses a fetched results controller to display a list of 'patient' entities taken from a Core Data model. The sections of this table are taken from a patient attribute called 'location'. Here is the sort descriptor for the fetch request: NSSortDescriptor *locationDescriptor = [[NSSortDescriptor alloc] initWithKey:@"location" ascending:YES]; NSSortDescriptor *lastNameDescriptor = [[NSSortDescriptor alloc] initWithKey:@"lastName" ascending:YES]; NSArray *sortDescriptors = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:locationDescriptor, lastNameDescriptor, nil]; Here is the initialisation code for the FRC: NSFetchedResultsController *aFetchedResultsController = [[NSFetchedResultsController alloc] initWithFetchRequest:fetchRequest managedObjectContext:managedObjectContext sectionNameKeyPath:@"location" cacheName:@"List"]; When I want to add a new 'patient' entity - I click an add button which then pushes an 'add new patient' view controller to the navigation stack. The first patient I add works fine. If I add a second patient - the app will sometimes crash with the following error: 2010-03-22 14:42:05.270 Patients[1126:207] Serious application error. Exception was caught during Core Data change processing: * -[NSCFArray insertObject:atIndex:]: index (1) beyond bounds (1) with userInfo (null) 2010-03-22 14:42:05.272 Patients[1126:207] Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSRangeException', reason: '** -[NSCFArray insertObject:atIndex:]: index (1) beyond bounds (1)' This only seems to happen if the patient's have a location added (if none is added then the location defaults to 'unknown'). It seems to have something to do with the sorting of the location too. For instance, if the first patient location = ward 14 and the second = ward 9 then it crashes without fail. I'm wondering if this is something to do with how I am asking the fetched results controller to sort the section names?? This bug is driving me nuts and I just can't figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  I'm overlaying the mapview and using RegexKitLite. I couldn't make it work. I've downloaded .m and .h files and added to the project. Also I tried, adding libicucore.dylib or libicucore.A.dlib or adding -licucore to other compiler flags field.
