Drupal6: How to programmatically style a block?

In Drupal6, I basically have a block (a hierarchical menu structure) that turns out like this in HTML: <div class="block block-menu_block" id="block-menu_block-1"> <div class="content"> <div class="menu-block-1 menu-name-menu-navigation parent-mlid-0 menu-level-1"> <ul class="menu"> <li class="leaf first menu-mlid-248 active active-trail"><a class="active-trail active" title="" href="/">Start</a></li> <li class="expanded menu-mlid-249 active"><a class="active" title="" href="/">Aktuell</a> <ul class="menu"> <li class="leaf first menu-mlid-259"> <a title="News und Presse" href="/news-und-presse">News and Press</a> </li>... What I would like to get is actually a lot simpler: <div id="topmenu"> <ul class="one"> <li>some main entry <ul> <li> some sub entry ... or maybe: <div id="topmenu"> <h2>some main entry</h2> <h3><a href="#">some sub entry</a></h3> <h3><a href="#">another sub entry</a></h3> <h2>another main entry</h2> So, keeping the structure, but being able to use simpler, even completely different tags, if and when needed. I think I understand from the drupal docs, that I am (maybe) looking at <div class="block block-menu_block" id="block-menu_block-1" ==> module := menu_block delta := 1 (?) regrettably, none of the suggested * block-[module]-[delta].tpl.php * block-[module].tpl.php * block-[region].tpl.php placed next to page.tpl.php has any impact (yes, I did clear the cache).

a question related to URL

Dear all,Now i have this question in my java program,I think it should be classified as URL problem,but not 100% sure.If you think I am wrong,feel free to recategorize this problem,thanks. I would state my problem as simply as possible. I did a search on the famouse Chinese search engine baidu.com for a Chinese key word "???" (Obama in English),and the way I do that is to pass a URL (in a Java Program)to the browser like: http://news.baidu.com/ns?word=??? and it works perfectly just like I input the "???”keyword in the text field on baidu.com. However,now my advisor wants another thing.Since he can not read the Chinese webpages,but he wants to make sure the webpages I got from Baidu.com is related to "Obama",he asked me to google translate it back,i.e,using google translate and translate the Chinese webpage to English one. This sounds straightforward.However,I met my problem here. If I simply pass the URL "http://news.baidu.com/ns?word=???" into Google Translate and tick "Chinese to English" translating option,the result looks awful.(I don't know the clue here,maybe related to Chinese character encoding). Alternatively,if now my browser opens ""http://news.baidu.com/ns?word=???" webpage,but I click on the "????" button (that simply means "search"),you will notice the URL will get changed,now if I pass this URL into the Google translate and do the same thing,the result works much better. I hope I am not making this problem sound too complicated,and I appologize for some Chinese words invovled,but I really need your guys' help here.Becasue I did all this in a Java program,I couldn't figure out how to realize that "????"(pressing search button) step then get the new URL.If I could get that new URL,things are easy,I could just call Google translate in my Java code,and pops out the new window to show my advisor. Grails g:paginate tag and custom URL

Hello, I am trying to use g:paginate in a shared template where depending on the controller, url changes e.g. For my homepage url should be : mydomain[DOT]com/news/recent/(1..n) For search Page: www[DOT]mydomain[DOT]com/search/query/"ipad apps"/filter/this month and my g:paginate looks like this: g:paginate controller=${customeController} action=${customAction} total:${total} For the first case, I was able to provide controller as 'news' and action as 'recent' and mapped url /news/recent/$offset to my controller. But for the search page, I am not able to achieve what I want to do. I have a URL mapping defined as /search/$filter**(controller:"search",action:"fetch") $filter can be /query/"ipad apps"/filter/thismonth/filter/something/filter/somethingelse. I want to be able to show the url as above rather than ?query="ipad apps"&filter=thismonth&filter=something&filter=somethingelse. I believe I can pass all the parameters in params attribute of g:paginate but that will not give me pretty URL. What would be the best way to achieve this? Please feel free to ask questions If i missed anything.Thanks in advance.

Adding an ASP.NET Web User Control to a Control Dynamically

I have a simple ASP.NET Web User Control. It looks like this: <%@ Control Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="NewsArticle.ascx.cs" Inherits="Website.Controls.NewsArticle" %> <div> <asp:Literal ID="ltlBody" runat="server" /> </div> My code behind looks like this: namespace Website.Controls { public partial class NewsArticle : System.Web.UI.UserControl { public String bodyText { //get { return ltlBody.Text; } set { ltlBody.Text = value; } } } } On a .aspx page I have <asp:Panel ID="pNews" runat="server" /> In the code behind I have: foreach (vwNews news in newsQuery) { NewsArticle article = new NewsArticle(); aticle.bodyText = news.Body; pNews.Controls.Add(article); } Every time I run this code the newsQuery is populated correctly and I get to the line aticle.bodyText = news.Body; and then I received the error article.bodyText threw an exception of type 'System.NullReferenceException' I am not sure what is causing this error message or how to fix it. I would think that there should not be an issue. I tried creating a constructor for my Web User Control so that it would give default values to my properties but that didn't work. Any idea how to make this work? It doesn't seem like it should be that

Linq to Entities custom ordering via position mapping table

Hi, I have a news table and I would like to implement custom ordering. I have done this before via a positional mapping table which has newsIds and a position. I then LEFT OUTER JOIN the position table ON news.newsId = position.itemId with a select case statement CASE WHEN [position] IS NULL THEN 9999 ELSE [position] END and order by position asc, articleDate desc. Now I am trying to do the same with Linq to Entities. I have set up my tables with a PK, FK relationship so that my News object has an Entity Collection of positions. Now comes the bit I can't work out. How to implement the LEFT OUTER JOIN. I have so far: var query = SelectMany (n => n.Positions, (n, s) => new { n, s }) .OrderBy(x => x.s.position) .ThenByDescending(x => x.n.articleDate) .Select(x => x.n); This kinda works. However this uses a INNER JOIN so not what I am after. I had another idea: ret = ret.OrderBy(n => n.ShufflePositions.Select(s => s.position)); However I get the error DbSortClause expressions must have a type that is order comparable. I also tried ret = ret.GroupJoin(tse.ShufflePositions, n => n.id, s => s.itemId, (n, s) => new { n, s }) .OrderBy(x => x.s.Select(z => z.position)) .ThenByDescending(x => x.n.articleDate) .Select(x => x.n); but I get the same error! If anyone can help me out, it would be much appreciated!

Detect and handle, or override, clicks on a navigation bar

I have an app where I've pushed two items onto the navigation bar. The top item, which ends up as a 'back' button, should have the function to jump all the way back to the start page, which is a list of web news. The other one simply displays a logo. The boss wants a navigation bar look and feel but with a simple function, so the user can click around the news site, but always be able to jump to the news list page with just the one click. Is the only option to create a fixed navbar with two items in IB, so that I can connect an outlet to the clickable item - or is there some way to intercept clicks to the navbar to make a requestURL? touchesBegan or touchUpInside would be fine, but I've found no way of implementing that so far. It's okay if the whole navbar is clickable, I just need some hint how to make it happen. Add a transparent UIlabel on top and detect clicks for that, maybe? A bonus would be to hide the item in the 'back' position without popping it from the stack.

Looping the layout that was set up in Interface Builder

I just need for someone to point me in the right direction of how I should be doing things. I wanted to make an iOS news like app that would have interface resembling Windows Phone. Large and small image tiles that represent one news item each. Now I was thinking to create some basic layout in storyboard, that would consist out of, for example, a title, and a 3 different sized tiles/images (the gray part on the attached image). Now, I would be getting the data as a JSON array that has holds different news categories so I was wondering if somehow the set up layout could be reused in a for loop since the layout will only repeat itself (the red part on the attached image) and oly the data would be different. Can this be done, should I even try doing something like this, or should I try to create an entire layout programmatically? I wouldn't mind doing it programatically, it's just that I don't have much experience in creating layouts that way, and wanted to make sure that I don't do something that I might regret later. Thank you for any help and advice.

images not showing up in tab body on class change in IE

I can't get any images to show up when I'm using IE with these makeshift tabs I made, everything shows up and space is allocated for the image but the image doesn't show up when I change the class. How to get Facebook-Feeds in Trillian without connecting to Facebook-Chat?

I installed the trial of Trillian 5.0 Build 22 (I don't know if the version 4 Astra is any different). I successfully added my Facebook account so I can see my facebook news on Trillian and works great. The problem is that I don't want to use the Facebook-chat, and if I disconnect the Facebook-chat the rest of the facebook stuff (news, events, groups, request) also disappears. I tried by setting the Facebook status to Away; and I'm not sure if someone can chat with me if I choose that; but anyway I still have the contacts list full of people I don't want. EDIT: Maybe I wasn't clear enough about the Facebook part. And that might be why some people fell this is off-topic. But when I talk about Facebook in this question, I'm not referring to the Facebook site at any point. I'm mean the Facebook plugin of Trillian (and it's not an user plugin; it's a built-in plugin).

I have no experience in setting up postfix, and thought virtualmin minght do the legwork for me. Appears not. When I try to send mail to the domain (either [email protected] [email protected] or [email protected]) I get the following message returned This is the mail system at host dedq239.localdomain. Dual monitor webbrowsing with Firefox - Addon that opens links on the other window?

I often browse news aggressors like Reddit.com and I want to be able to have one Firefox window open on each of my two screens, and when I middle click on a link on my left screen, it will open up the tab on my right firefox window. I know that there are some plugins that can open up new windows, but if I do that I'll have to many windows open and I'd rather manage my open news stories via tab bars rather than with windows (clearer, more efficient to browse, and easier to bookmark). Is there a Firefox addon with which I can middle click on a link and it will open it in a new tab in my other window?

How can I make the iTunes podcast count ignore selected podcasts?

Hi all, Until recently I have only listened to news type podcasts with people talking, like TWiT and Security Now. I also like music, so decided to subscribe to some other music related podcasts, however I don't want these to appear in my podcasts count in iTunes on the left hand side. I downloaded a load of old ones from the music related podcasts, and now I can't see at a glance how many news podcasts I have to listen to. I know it sounds really picky, but if it can be done, I would be a little bit happier. Of course I did some googling, but turned up a blank. Would guess it needs some form of plugin. Using the latest version of iTunes at the time of posting. Thanks in advance.

Redirect anything within /attachments/ directory up one level but also removing anything after /attachments/

WordPress creates an attachment page for any images uploaded through the post editor and "attached" to that post. After migrating a site, those attachment pages no longer exist, and we now have around 1000 links pointed at 404's. So, I was looking to find a way to do a redirect for any url that has /attachement/ in it's string and then push that url back up one level (which happens to be the post page). so for instance: http://mysite.com/2012/news/blog-post-title/attachment/image-page/ (which doesnt exist) will go to http://mysite.com/2012/news/blog-post-title/ (which does exist). Along with redirecting up one level, I also need to remove anything after /attachment/ (in this case the "image-page." Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

There are DDOs attacks to web servers, which mostly give them so much concurrent loads or connections that service get unavailable. Many government or non-profit organizations that suffered this kind of attacks, eventually could choose to shutdown their web server and that's it, waiting for these attacks to end. For a DDOs attacks to PBX, I imagine that it would result in telephones getting busy or ringing all the time unstoppably. This kind of attack could really damage any kind organization. Is it possible to do that or are we just in the beginnings?

Pointcast Alternatives?

I used to love Pointcast in the early days of the internet; it was a screensaver that, like RSS feeds, brought in all your favorite sources with news articles and stock quotes along with various other info and turned it into a visually interesting screensaver. It was before broadband though and I heard so many work places had to ban it that the company eventually folded. But I wondered if there are any modern day equivalents? I certainly have feed readers and some awesome desktop gadgets that bring in various things like news and weather, and I don't want a whole screensaver like pointcast. Exchange 2010 sending old Out of Office message

We are just about done with our migration from Exchange 2003 to 2010. I have a user who has been migrated to the new system that is now out on medical leave. He has gone into OWA and set up his Out of Office notification. The good news is that an Out of Office message is sent, the bad news is that it appears to be sending an old outdated message from back when the user was on Exchange 2003, and not honoring the new message set up in OWA. The user has also tried setting this up in Outlook 2010 as well with the same behavior. I have a feeling that this is related to the old public folders (didn't they contain OOF messages?) still lingering around our Exchange org. Any ideas?

How to measure startup time and order of Windows services on boot?

I am not asking how to measure server startup time here. I am wondering if anyone knows of a tool that can measure and show a graph of the startup time and order of all the windows services during system startup. I saw a software program shown on my local Portland news last week that does this but I am unable to remember what it was called or anything else about it. All I remember is that it was a "tech" news story to help computer users with their computers. So, I know the software exists and I am trying to find it.

How can I search for Gmail conversations that have more than one e-mail? [closed]

I previously used a service that sent me Slashdot articles as individual e-mails. All I had to do was give them the RSS url, and they handled the rest. On the Gmail side, I simply made a filter, labeling these e-mails as "News". Once I stopped using the service, I realized that I had more than 20,000 such e-mails stockpiled. While I could delete all "News" e-mails, there are some that I've forwarded to friends, sometimes receiving multiple replies. These conversations are valuable - I would like to keep them. As far as I can tell, there's no way to search for conversations that have more than one e-mail in the thread. Up until now, I've been deleting them page by page, carefully de-selecting the conversations that have more than one e-mail; however, it will take far too much time to complete. Is there an easier way that I'm missing? Thanks.

I'm trying to set up a LAMP server so it's totally anonymous, any suggestions?

I'm going to set up a web service which will use the LAMP stack. One of the most important features of the site is that it should be anonymous. We thought that a cool thing will be if the server didn't made any logs that could potentially identify a user. I'm working on a web app for a news organization. They want a site to allow people to sumbit news leads and tips (text / files) to journalists. We think if we can provide good anonymity people will be more inclined to provide information. We will also teach how to use stuff like TOR as an extra precaution for whistleblowers Is this even possible? Any suggestions of obscure things we should look into?

Method to control multiple sites using same cookie?

Is it possible for two different web pages to use the same cookie? For example, some news sites now have buttons on the bottom, where if you are logged into facebook, you can just click the button to "like" the article. Is this a case of a 3rd party website using facebook's cookie to know which account you are, and if so, is there a way I can control it? I'm not sure how the new "like" system works, so maybe the button part isn't actually on the news site, but hosted on facebooks servers or something, so it's really facebook itself accessing its own cookie. If that's the case, is there a way I can choose when a site accesses its own cookie? Thanks for any help!
