• COMException when trying to use a Library

  Hi Guys, I have an ASP.net WebService which uses a Library, this has a dependency on some third party .dlls. If I add a reference to the Library to my webservice, I get a COMException and I can't load the site. I thought it may be to do with aspnet user credentials, so I have tried impersonating and using processModel in machine.config but nothing seems to work. The .dlls are for communicating with hardware so I am not even using them on the server just other parts of the library, is there any way I can fix this? I'm running on Windows XP Pro SP3 with Visual 2008 SP1 and .net 3.5. I am thinking the only way of fixing it, is to split up the library into hardware and non-hardware based. • System.Reflection and InvokeMember, storing type, assembly, and object in a class

  I have tested code to call a method inside of a compiled DLL, and it works. I created a class to store the object, type, and loaded assembly, but something is lost in translation because it is unable to find the member I wish to invoke. If I create a type, object, and assembly, and properly load everything into these and perform InvokeMember on the type, it works just fine. However, when I use the things inside of my class, it throws a MissingMemberException and does not invoke the member, obviously. What am I doing wrong? The member in question is a subroutine which takes one argument, a string. This is quite frustrating. • The best cross platform (portable) arbitrary precision math library

  Dear ninjas / hackers / wizards, I'm looking for a good arbitrary precision math library in C or C++. Could you please give me some advices / suggestions? The primary requirements: It MUST handle arbitrarily big integers (my primary interest is on integers). In case that you don't know what the word arbitrarily big means, imagine something like 100000! (the factorial of 100000). The precision MUST NOT NEED to be specified during library initialization / object creation. The precision should ONLY be constrained by the available resources of the system. It SHOULD utilize the full power of the platform, and should handle "small" numbers natively. That means on a 64-bit platform, calculating 2^33 + 2^32 should use the available 64-bit CPU instructions. The library SHOULD NOT calculate this in the same way as it does with 2^66 + 2^65 on the same platform. It MUST handle addition (+), subtraction (-), multiplication (*), integer division (/), remainder (%), power (**), increment (++), decrement (--), gcd(), factorial(), and other common integer arithmetic calculations efficiently. Ability to handle functions like sqrt() (square root), log() (logarithm) that do not produce integer results is a plus. Ability to handle symbolic computations is even better. Here are what I found so far: Java's BigInteger and BigDecimal class: I have been using these so far. I have read the source code, but I don't understand the math underneath. It may be based on theories / algorithms that I have never learnt. The built-in integer type or in core libraries of bc / Python / Ruby / Haskell / Lisp / Erlang / OCaml / PHP / some other languages: I have ever used some of these, but I have no idea on which library they are using, or which kind of implementation they are using. What I have already known: Using a char as a decimal digit, and a char* as a decimal string and do calculations on the digits using a for-loop. Using an int (or a long int, or a long long) as a basic "unit" and an array of it as an arbitrary long integer, and do calculations on the elements using a for-loop. Booth's multiplication algorithm What I don't know: Printing the binary array mentioned above in decimal without using naive methods. Example of a naive method: (1) add the bits from the lowest to the highest: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, ... (2) use a char* string mentioned above to store the intermediate decimal results). What I appreciate: Good comparisons on GMP, MPFR, decNumber (or other libraries that are good in your opinion). Good suggestions on books / articles that I should read. For example, an illustration with figures on how a un-naive arbitrarily long binary to decimal conversion algorithm works is good. Any help. Please DO NOT answer this question if: you think using a double (or a long double, or a long long double) can solve this problem easily.   Hello, I have custom SharePoint Document Library which I use to upload spreadsheet data into a database. When a spreadsheet is uploaded, the SPItemReceiver triggers, and upload the data. Now, I would like to add an incoming email feature to the document library. My question is...after the document library has received the spreadsheet by email. Should I use the override-able method EmailReceived of the SPEmailEventReceiver to process the data in the spreadsheet or still use the SPItemReceiver? I gather I could use either, but I would like to know your opinion which is better and why. Thanks in advance

• Building a titanium module with xcode that uses other libraries

  I have a Titanium module and i want to use it for voice over ip using pjsip. I have changed the project settings the following way: added to the other linker flags the libraries from pjsip added to the header search paths the headers from pjsip added to the library search paths the libraries from pjsip If i do these things for a normap iPhone app it works i can make calls i have tested it and made a wrapper class that has methods like makeCall, hangup. etc. But i want to use this class together with the libraries from pjsip in a Titanium module. It gives me errors like: implicit declaration of function 'pjsua_perror' implicit declaration of function 'pjsua_destroy' 'pjsua_config' undeclared (first use in this function) These are all part of pjsip (pjsua_perror and pjsua_destroy are functions and pjsua_config is a struct) Does it work this way? Can i include other libraries in a library? What is the difference between making an app that uses libraries and making a library that uses libraries?

• Can I use android.os.* libraries in a standalone project?

  I'm trying to develop an external library (not sure if that's the right term) to provide prepackaged functionality in Android projects. Working in Eclipse, I've added the appropriate android.jar file to the build path, and everything is happy both while editing and upon compilation. However, when I use Android's Handler and Message classes (android.os.Handler, android.os.Message) for inter-thread communication, I get exceptions unless I'm running within an Android app, on the emulator or a device. I can no longer test my library in a "standalone" way without having to go through a running Android target. Is there any way for me to include these two Android classes and still be able to test my library standalone? Do I need to have the Android source available? Or would it require some sort of conditional compilation hand-waving?

  I have several libraries made by myself (a geometry library, a linked list library, etc). I want to make a header file to include them all in one lib.h.   Throughout my SharePoint site, I have several document repositories that are tied to primary keys from an external database. I have added custom columns in the document library metadata fields so that we will know which SharePoint documents correspond with which table entries. As a requirement, we need to have document uploads that have these fields automatically populated. For instance, I'd like to have the following url: ./Upload.aspx?ClassID=2&SystemID=63 So that when you upload any documents to this library, it automatically adds the ClassID and SystemID values to the corresponding ClassID and SystemID columns outlined in the SharePoint document library fields. Is there any quick or easy way to do this, or will I have to completely rewrite the Upload.aspx script from scratch?

  When I return my object as JSON via JsonDataContractCodec OpenRasta sets Content-Type header to application/json but ignores charset part of content type. When I use Chrome it sends GET request with folowing header: Accept-Charset:windows-1251,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.3 and all my utf-8 encoded json objects goes wrong. I tried to override OperationResult with no luck. OpenRasta overwrites my header with codec's one.

• Is it possible to search using type information in visual studio

  It comes up from time to time and I'm wondering of it's possible to use type info when searching in visual studio, or is there a plugin that includes this? I'd like to search for the phrase "x == " or "x.ToString();" where x is of type 'Person'. The normal regex searches are strictly searching the text as opposed to the content and I figured out a long time ago that any thought I have is never the first.
