    I have OwnCloud setup and it has a feature called External Site. It loads a site in an iframe, so you can stay in the websites shell. I have a page running on a reverse proxy. Is there anyway to only allow the OwnCloud page to access the reverse proxy while blocking any other connections to it?   • Direct3D 11 effect files deprecated?

    I've been playing around with Direct3D 11 a little bit lately and have been frustrated by the lack of documentation on the basics of the API (such as simple geometry rendering). One of the points of confusion brought on by the sparse documentation is the (apparent) move away from the use of effects for shaders. In D3D11 all of the effect (.fx) support has been removed from the D3DX libraries and buried away in a hard to find (sparsely documented, of course) shared source library. None of the included examples use it, preferring instead to compile HLSL files directly. All of this says to me that Microsoft is trying to get people to stop using the effect file format. Is that true? Is there any documentation of any kind that states that? I'm fine doing it either way, but for years now they've been promoting the .fx format so it seems odd that they would suddenly decide to drop it.

    Hi, I am working with Ubuntu latest version. While installing via apt-get install i tried to abort that by pressing Ctrl+Z. It terminate successfully ;). But next time when i tried to use apt-get, i got some error "lock" and "temporally unavailable" something like that and **I unfortunately i delete the /var/lib/dkpg folder.** after that i cant install anything from apt-get, getting an error. E: Internal Error, Could not perform immediate configuration (2) on libattr1 so how can i solve this issue?

And in the Ubuntu 10.04 repositories, I found a "moonlight-plugin-mozilla" package, but not "moonlight-plugin-chrome" (or similar). Is there any way to do this, or does Moonlight not yet run in Chrome?

  • searching between dates in MYSQL in this format 03/17/10.11:22:45

    I have a script that automatically populates a mysql database with data every hour. It populates the date field like 03/17/10.12:34:11 and so on. I'm working on pulling data based on 1 day at a time from a search script. If i use select * from call_logs where call_initiated between '03/17/10.12:00:00' and '03/17/10.13:00:00' it works, but when I try to add the rest of the search params, it ignores the call_initiated field. select * from call_logs where caller_dn='2x9xxx0000' OR called_dn='2x9xxx0000' AND call_initiated between '03/17/10.12:00:00' and '03/17/10.13:00:00' ^-- I x'd out a couple of the numbers. I've also tried without the between function, and used = <= to pull the records, but have the same results. Im sure its an oversight, thanks in advance.

    The question says it all. All i want is that my W-Lan connection should be disabled whenever a wired connection is available. What would be the easiest way to do that in Ubuntu/Gnome? In all guides (for instance some about guessnet) i found i had to configure my whole network configuration (WPA keys, DHCP, ...), but i find that a bit too complicated for such a simple use case. I just want to disable wlan0 when eth0 is connected.

The problem is that I connect to a remote VPS (Ubuntu), and when Internet connection is disrupted n reconnected, I can no longer do anything on the terminal. I have to restart the terminal and re-initiate the connection. Is there a way I can have persistent connection with server.

    Hi, I finally manage to get mail working with ehcp on an ubuntu server. I can get and send email from the webmail, but I can't seems to be able to access the pop3. I can telnet to the pop3 (server?) but my identification are rejected. Apparently the pop3 server is courier which seems to be configured like it should. Someone has any idea about this ?     Hi, My screen resolution in windows and previous version of Ubuntu (9.04) was 1152 x 864. But in Ubuntu 10.04 it gives me an option of 1024 x 786 and 1360 x 786. Edit 2 : I have edited my Xorg.conf file as follows : Section "Monitor" Identifier "Configured Monitor" HorizSync 30-80 VertRefresh 55-75 EndSection then I added the resolution and restarted my computer and still I am facing the same problem. Edit 3 : For now I have edited /etc/gdm/Init/Default(gdm startup scripts) to include following xrandr commands, just below line initctl -q emit login-session-start DISPLAY_MANAGER=gdm xrandr --newmode "1152x864_60.00" 81.75 1152 1216 1336 1520 864 867 871 897 -hsync +vsync xrandr --addmode VGA1 1152x864_60.00<br/> xrandr -s 1152x864_60.00 This has solved my problem, but this commands have increased my computer's boot time. I think I will have to edit xorg file properly. Edit 4 : Instead of adding this files to gdm startup scripts I have created a shell script and added it to startup (System - Preference - Startup Applications) #!/bin/bash xrandr --newmode "1152x864_60.00" 81.75 1152 1216 1336 1520 864 867 871 897 -hsync +vsync xrandr --addmode VGA1 1152x864_60.00 xrandr -s 1152x864_60.00 And don't forget to add execution rights. (Right Click - Properties - Permission - Allow executing file as program)

  • Set default system audio output port (for all accounts)

    The default output audio port Ubuntu doesn't work on my system. It should be "Analog Mono Output/Amplifier", instead of "Analog Output/Amplifier". I can easily change that in sound preferences, just by choosing the right port in the "Output" tab. The problem is this would only apply to a single account, and I would like to change it system-wide, so it applies to all accounts on the system (I have more than 100 users...). I'm after 2 hours of Googling, so any help would be appreciated.

    I installed a new upgrade on ubuntu which seemed to fail near the end. Now I'm being told that an error has occurred and to please run apt-get to see what's wrong. After some further tries with that I eventually gave up. It seems there's a left over latex package(?) somewhere and I can't seem to get rid of or fix it.   • How can I download a package and all of its dependencies with apt-get

    I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 and I would like to use apt-get to download a package and all of it's depenedcies. Those packages will have to be installed on computers with no internet connection, so in addition to the base package I also need to all of the package's dependcies as well. Is there an easy way to do this (like in muon package manager)? I now that I can use the apt-get download command for this, but I don't want to manually specify each package that muon recommends to install or upgrade.

  • On freenode, how do I keep NickServ from messaging me when I log in?

    I have Empathy set to run whenever I log in to Ubuntu. As soon as Empathy connects to freenode, I get these messages: This nickname is registered. Please choose a different nickname, or identify via /msg NickServ identify . You are now identified for [my name]. This is pretty annoying, since Empathy handles identification for me anyway. Is there any way to keep this from happening?

  • PHP getting blank pages after submit a form + signal Segmentation fault (11)

    I few days ago I update my macbook pro to snow leopard, and since then some php files are not showing. This is what happens: I created a php form, when going to 'http://localhost/webform.php' I can see the form just fine. Then, once I submit the form, I just get a blank page. I enable error and warnings reporting under php.ini to make sure I'm not missing something, but still I'm not getting anything, just the blank page. Then I checked under apache log files, and what I notice is that every time I submit the form I see the following line coming up under the apache logs: [Wed Apr 07 21:40:28 2010] [notice] child pid 70223 exit signal Segmentation fault (11) I'm clueless on this one. Any ideas on how to fix it?
