  • Intel Server Board S3420GP fails to boot with video connected

    All, Building a new system using an Intel Server Board S3420GP motherboard and an Intel Xeon X3440 processor. Before installing this motherboard into the chassis we want to test that it will actually boot correctly. We have mounted the processor and RAM with no hard drives attached. The boot sequence differs between the next variable: 1) Connecting video results in the system fans ramp up and down, twice, and then the system beeps with the same behavior repeating; the system status light shows "Amber" 2) With no video, the system goes through POST and the diag LEDs show that the system is missing a bootable device Need some assistance identifying why the board would fail to POST with video connected. // Update // Using another Power Supply the system gets passed the fans ramping up and down twice. Video still does not display.

    Hi, I have a Gigabyte motherboard with an onboard Realtek HD sound card. The card is working perfectly everywhere, except for a single video format, where the voice is distorted, sounds as if it's been passed through a metal tube. Been googling for this, but couldn't find an answer anywhere. The movie plays fine on other systems (got Linux everywhere else), but on this one (winXP-x64-sp2) it just doesn't.   • Google Talk and Video outside of GMail

    I'd like to use Google Talk/Video with having the full gmail or igoogle interface displayed. The ideal setup would be the lightweight popout interface (link below) in a small Fluid.app single instance browser as a stand-alone desktop app. If I log into GMail, the chat sidebar has a phone icon so I can use Google Voice, and a camera icon next to me and some of my contacts. If I log into iGoogle, the chat sidebar has a camera next to me and some contacts, but no phone. I would like to have video chat (and perhaps the phone option) elsewhere. Google provides a chat talkgadget popout URL: http://talkgadget.google.com/talkgadget/popout but there is no phone or camera icon accessible.

  • Can't Create New folder in my video folder

    My OS is windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. My video folder location is C:\Users\User\Documents\Downloads\Video. I Can't create folder in the Video folder or see the files i saved. But I can see the files in the root location of the folder i.e by going to the folder from My Computer. I can create and find files when I go to the folder My Computer>C>Users>User>Documents>Downloads>Video. This is an unusual problem I have never seen. Even being a system Administrator I can't able to fix the problem. Please help me out. Thanks in advance

  • Dell Dimension 2350 with a Pentium IV processor and integrated video and network chips running Fedor

    Dell Dimension 2350 with a Pentium IV processor and integrated video and network chips running Fedora12 does a "Sleeping Beauty" and I, apparently, am not am not a "handsome prince"! The system puts video and network to sleep and it will not wakeup. I have heard of this problem on laptops, but this is a tower. Any ideas or help is appreciated. I tried to ping the network card from another system and ping fails. The logs indicate that the system continues to be active. Pressing keyboard short-cut keys makes the disk light blink but neither the video or network card comes alive. Failing all else, are there any Linux commands that I could schedule in cron to pulse video and network adapters hourly that will keep them awake? Or, should I wait on Fedora13? Before this machine, I built a Dimension 2400 with Pentium IV and it had the same problem. Fedora9 on the same hardware is fine.

  • google video chat works faster on local LAN

    Recently the internet speed on our college LAN has dropped drastically. ( Avg file download speed 13 Kbps :( ). However g-talk's video chat remains unbelievably fluent when done with someone within the college's LAN. However video chat is practically impossible for anyone else who is not in the college network. My college has a proxy server through which all computers inside the college connect to the internet. I suspect its due to the proxy server. Also how g-talk maintains video chat? Is it something in the mechanism that speeds up video chat between two clients with the same IP? Since all computers use the same proxy,their IP would appear to be the same to google server.

  • How to temporary disable a mirror video driver in windows xp registry

    Because its a lot of text, I will ask first my question and then explain what the base problem is. Perhaps someone can give me a solution to the base problem: Is there is a way to temporary disable mirror video drivers (through registry or so), without uninstalling the corresponding software. I tested changing the enumeration in LocalMachine\Hardware\DeviceMap\Video but after reboot always the old configuration is restored. Explanation of the base problem We are working on a wpf-project for a department of a big company. There we have the problem that WPF renders only in software mode, although the hardware they have, must support hardware rendering (Tier 2). After searching for a solution to the problem, we found out that direct 3d does not work properly and we think thats why WPF can only use SW-rendering. In dxdiag.exe the direct3d-acceleration is enabled, but if we start the test-routine it always fails saying that it has not enough memory (it says memory, not video memory!). I have seen there 3 different types of pc’s (they have some hundreds of each type) and every type shows the exactly same behavior. We tried to update all the drivers, also dx (Version 9.0c) and we searched a lot in the web but could not find a solution. All the pcs have Intel Dual-Core processors or better, one type has an Intel gma 9000 graphics card the other two types have actual ATI and NVidia graphic-cards with 256MB onboard memory. Also the system memory is at least 2GB. Windows is XPSP3. The pc’s are of two different manufacturers. Because we see the exactly same behavior on every computer of this three very different computer-types, we don’t think that this is a driver or a direct x problem. What we’ve found in other newsgroups is, that direct x could be disturbed through mirror-video drivers such as NetMeeting, VNC and other remote desktop-installations. In the registry, we see under LocalMachine\Hardware\DeviceMap\Video a lot of such mirror-entries and we find also the definitions in the CurrentControlSet\Control\Video-Section (However this drivers are not shown in the hardware panel of the os). We can have admin-rights to one of these computers to test if disabling these drivers would help, but we must not change the configuration so that some software does not work after the tests. Therefore I cannot uninstall any software because I have not the mediums, licenses or knowhow to reinstall those apps. The support of this company however will only begin to work, if I can tell them what the real problem is. Thats why we search for a way to disable these mirror-drivers (or a hint to solve the dx problem if we are on a false trace)

  • Windows 8 isn't detecting PS3 eye

    I have the PS3 Eye web cam installed with drivers from Code Laboratories, which comes with a test program. When I open the test program it shows a clear picture from the webcam. Every other program does not detect a webcam. The cam shows in my device manager and as installed correctly. My question is, is there a flag or something like that I can set that will show Windows 8 that this device is in fact a camera and is working.     I'm editing my video in Windows Live Movie Maker from Live Essentials 2011. My source video is from camera and is .mp4 format with size of 1280 x 720. After editing in Movie Maker, I save the movie. And no matter what option I chose, I always end up with .wmv file, that is either 4:3 image with black stripes above and below the video, or 16:9 with black frame all around the image. What settings should I use, to be able to export or save the video in 1280 x 720 without any black border?

    I am unable to play "protected" flash video, such as Amazon Prime Instant Video. From what I've read and uncovered, this seems to be due to a lack of HAL being installed on my computer. Confirmation that it is required for protected video can be seen towards the beginning of http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/flash-player-11-problems-playing.html However, hal is not in the gentoo portage tree, and in any case has been deprecated and replaced by udev. How can I go about getting Amazon Prime Instant Video to work again? I was considering grabbing the source from http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/hal but the links there won't load, and trying to install it from old ebuilds or from overlays which claim to still support it (e.g. kde-sunset) result in a compilation error: In file included from addon-generic-backlight.c:38:0: /usr/include/glib-2.0/glib/gmain.h:21:2: error: #error "Only <glib.h> can be included directly." Has anyone else solved this issue?

    Is it possible to generate an FLV out of an MP3 and a JPG, without uselessly looping the image and still be able to seek the audio ? This command generates a non-seekable video: ffmpeg -y -i audio.mp3 -i image.jpg -r 1 -acodec copy video.flv and this one generates a seekable one, but with uselessly looping the image occupying both space and time: ffmpeg -y -loop_input -i audio.mp3 -i image.jpg -r 1 -acodec copy video.flv -shortest

  • Computer won't start after installing new video card

    So, 1 year and 340 days ago I bought a desktop computer. Since then, it has served me well. But lately, I wanted an upgrade, so I bought a new video card. I documented myself about the compatibility, and it is okay. So I opened the case, cleaned up that... dust elemental living inside of it. Unscrewed the plastic thingie on the outside to unscrew the old video card. Because of the stupid arrangement of the ports, I had to unscrew the motherboard to unplug it. So I unscrewed it, removed the old card, put in the new one, moved the motherboard back, screwed it back in, screwed the video card on the holder... thingie, and screwed the plastic thingie back in. Everything went smoothly, nothing had to be forced in/out. I connected the external power supply, closed the computer case, put the tower back in it's place and all the cables back in. When I pressed the power button, the LED turned... some color I can't distinguish. It stayed that way for a second, and then it went off. I tried a bunch of things, including permuting the external power supply arrangement (1 connection, 2 connections and no connections), with no success. And here are some of the specifications: Motherboard manufacturer: Asrock Processor: AMD Athlon II X2 3.0 GHz RAM: 2 x 2GB (had only 1 initially, bought the second plate a bit later) OLD video card: AMD Radeon HD 5450 NEW video card: Gigabyte nVidia GeForce GTX 650 GPU, 1GB GDDR5 128bit PCI-E, Dual-link DVI-Dx2 / HDMI / D-Sub Power supply: 450W + all the requirements I managed to find on the internet are met (+12V 18A or something) More specific information is stored... On that computer. If required, I may open the case again and read the stickers to find more specific information. I can also provide photos if necessary. Any ideas? Suggestions? Something? :|

  • Successfully concatenating multiple videos

    My mission is to create videos out of old web slideshows. To start with I have jpegs and audio files that worked as Flash slideshows in an old system, structured such as this: Audio structure my_audio_1.mp3 (this file is a 3 second mp3 of silence) my_audio_2.mp3 my_audio_3.mp3 my_audio_4 etc... roughly 30 mp3s per slideshow Image structure my_image_1.jpg (this acts as the opening slide) my_image_2.jpg my_image_3.jpg my_image_4. etc... roughly 30 images per slideshow. As there are almost 100 slideshows that must be converted to video, I have created a web-based interface using PHP to automate the process, that sits on a local system and attempts to combine the files using shell_exec(). The process uses the following workflow: Loop through each slide and make an avi or mpeg. So for instance my_mini_video_2.avi would be a video that consists of my_image_2.jpg and has a soundtrack of my_audio_2.mp3. This slide would last the length of my_audio_2.mp3. Join / stitch / concat all of the mini videos to create the final video (Using a combination of cat and either mencoder or ffmpeg (I have also tried avimerge but to no avail). Transcode the new 'master' video to various formats such as flv etc. I thought this would be simple and have been close on many occasions but it still won't work. I can't get past stage 2 as I can't get a perfect 'master' video. I have now experimented with Mencoder, FFMpeg and seem to have been through every combination I can think of. The problem is that the audio and visuals never sync, no matter what I try. Also, I have even tried created audio-less mini videos, joining the MP3s into one long MP3 using both cat and mp3wrap and then assigning the new long MP3 as the audio track, but this always produces either a very short file or a badly slowed down file and makes the female voiceover sound like a male boxer!!! There appears to be no problems at all with the original files. Does anybody have any experience in producing a video successfully from the same kind of starting point? Or any ideas on what I may be doing wrong? As an example: If I create silent mini-videos, and stitch them together into 'temp-master.mpg' and then join the MP3s together into single MP3 called 'temp-master-audio.mp3', the audio file's duration is 09:10 and the video file's duration is 08:35. They should be the same and the audio will seem sloooow. I haven't posted code as I have written lots and lots of combinations.

    In July I was invited to speak at the UK SQL Server UG event in Manchester.  I spoke about Excel being a good data mining client.  I was a little rushed at the end as Chris Testa-ONeill told me I had only 5 minutes to go when I had only been talking for 10 minutes.  Apparently I have a reputation for running over my time allocation.  At the event we also had a product demo from SQL Sentry around their BI monitoring dashboard solution.  This includes SSIS but the main thrust was SSAS Then came Chris with a look at Analysis Services.  If you have never heard Chris talk then take the opportunity now, he is a top class presenter and I am often found sat at the back of his classes.     As you know iPhone plays video content from < video tags in full-screen mode via internal media player. Here I have several questions: 1) is it possible to show custom text over video playing? something like subtitles appeared during movie playback. I tried several solutions like http://blog.gingertech.net/2008/12/12/attaching-subtitles-to-html5-video/, but seems they are not working in iPhone case. Ideally, I want to add some div over media player and show necessary information there. 2) is there any way to disable controls of iPhone media player. Seams it is not metter if you add "controls" attrinbute to < video tag or don't add, iPhone always switch on controls for media player. The goal for me is do not allow to user to change playback possition(user should see full movie from start to finish. Of course user can stop the video, but he can't rewind a record) Thanks for your help.

I have googled and found out to add these options to play them link from where I got help But they are playing fine only in SMplayer. I want to configure similarly and play those files in VLC player.
