• My PreferenceActivity does not show up, even though it is in my manifest file

    - by Charlie
    So I am modifying the Cube live wallpaper example. I have a class that extends PreferenceActivity, and I added the Activity in my manifest file. I keep getting ActivityNotFoundExceptions. Here is my preference class : public class MySettingsActivity extends PreferenceActivity implements SharedPreferences.OnSharedPreferenceChangeListener { @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle bundle) { super.onCreate(bundle); getPreferenceManager().setSharedPreferencesName( ParticleCandy.SHARED_PREFS_NAME); addPreferencesFromResource(R.xml.settings); getPreferenceManager().getSharedPreferences().registerOnSharedPreferenceChangeListener( this); } @Override protected void onResume() { super.onResume(); } @Override protected void onDestroy() { getPreferenceManager().getSharedPreferences().unregisterOnSharedPreferenceChangeListener( this); super.onDestroy(); } public void onSharedPreferenceChanged(SharedPreferences sharedPreferences, String key) { } } And here is my manifest file  <manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" package="com.pixel.theory.wallpapers.mywallpaper" android:versionCode="1" android:versionName="1.0"> <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name"> <service android:label="@string/app_name" android:name="MyWallpaper" android:permission="android.permission.BIND_WALLPAPER" > <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.service.wallpaper.WallpaperService"> </action> </application> <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="7" /> <uses-feature android:name="android.software.live_wallpaper" /> </manifest> Any ideas why my preferences activity doesn't get read in from the manifest?

  • MXML composite canvas component initialization error

    - by mkorpela
    I'm getting an odd error from my composite canvas component: An ActionScript error has occurred: Error: null at mx.core::Container/initialize()[C:\autobuild\galaga\frameworks\projects\framework\src\mx\core\Container.as:2560] at -REMOVED THIS FOR STACK OVERFLOW-.view::EditableCanvas/initialize()[.../view/EditableCanvas .... It seems to be related to the fact that my composite component has a child and I'm trying to add one in the place I'm using the component. So how can I do this correctly? Component code looks like this (EditableCanvas.mxml):  <mx:Canvas xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" creationComplete="{init()}"> <mx:Script>  private var _editable:Boolean; public function set editable(edit:Boolean):void { _editable = edit; } private function init():void { if(_editable){ addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER, showEdit); addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OUT, hideEdit); } } private function showEdit(event:Event):void { editTextImage.visible = true; } private function hideEdit(event:Event):void { editTextImage.visible = false; }  </mx:Script> <mx:Image id="editTextImage" source="@Embed('/../assets/icons/small/process.png')" click="{dispatchEvent(EditPoiEvent.text())}" visible="false"/> </mx:Canvas> The code that is using the code looks like this: <view:EditableCanvas width="290" height="120" backgroundColor="#FFFFFF" horizontalScrollPolicy="off" borderStyle="solid" cornerRadius="3" editable="{_editable}"> <mx:Text id="textContentBox" width="270" fontFamily="nautics" fontSize="12" text="{_text}"/> </view:EditableCanvas>

  • loaderInfo null inside creationComplete handler function

    - by Thiago
    Hi, I've coded this small snippet to show what I'm not understanding: <mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute" creationComplete="init()"> <mx:Script> public function init():void { txtName.text = this.loaderInfo.toString(); } </mx:Script> <mx:TextInput x="50" y="10" id="txtName"/> </mx:Application> I'm getting the following error: TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at Teste/init()[C:\Lucas\flex\AppName\src\Teste.mxml:5] at Teste/___Teste_Application1_creationComplete()[C:\User\flex\CornetaRecorder\src\Teste.mxml:2] at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction() at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEvent() at mx.core::UIComponent/dispatchEvent()[C:\autobuild\3.2.0\frameworks\projects\framework\src\mx\core\UIComponent.as:9298] at mx.core::UIComponent/set initialized()[C:\autobuild\3.2.0\frameworks\projects\framework\src\mx\core\UIComponent.as:1169] at mx.managers::LayoutManager/doPhasedInstantiation()[C:\autobuild\3.2.0\frameworks\projects\framework\src\mx\managers\LayoutManager.as:718] at Function/http://adobe.com/AS3/2006/builtin::apply() at mx.core::UIComponent/callLaterDispatcher2()[C:\autobuild\3.2.0\frameworks\projects\framework\src\mx\core\UIComponent.as:8628] at mx.core::UIComponent/callLaterDispatcher()[C:\autobuild\3.2.0\frameworks\projects\framework\src\mx\core\UIComponent.as:8568] Shouldn't I be able to read loaderInfo inside the creationComplete handler? I'm trying to pass a string from the html to my flash component, that's why I have to get loaderInfo working.

  • Bitrate Switching in xml playlist not loading video

    - by James Williams
    Using JW Player ver 5.4 and JW Embedder. Plugins are grid by Dabbler and fbit (Facebook). The Bitrate switching is not working. Does work fine for one video with HTML5 Video tag. When more than one video, it only shows the first video pic. Works fine with no bitrate switching. Code - HTML5
  XML - ATOM/MEDIA xmlns:jwplayer='http://developer.longtailvideo.com/trac/wiki/FlashFormats' Demostration Playlist Video 1 rtmp rtmp://server/location/ Video 2 rtmp rtmp://server/location/ have tried it with both video and div tags for the container. Div tag just shows a blank video area and a Null exception on Line 1 char 1863, this is probably the jwplayer.js file. XML is larger than this, this is to give you a brief syntax of my code and xml. I have searched for over 6 hrs on both longtail and search engine searches. Thank you in advance.

  • Posting XML form data to a RESTful Server with Javascript or PHP

    - by pjs-worker
    Hi folks, I've been given the task of posting to a RESTful server. I'm new to the official "REST" but I've played with the concept before. However, this time I have an XML Payload example file that I am supposed to post. I'm struggling to figure out how the two relate. Can you help? Right now I can post to a specific site, say www.pcpost.com/schema/Application I can generate the URL for the inital, ie: postApplication?userid=4&... Being relatively new to web programming, I find that don't know how to take the following and interface it with the server. I'm at least familiar with Javascript and PHP. If this is impossible with those two types, I can learn whatever would be best. Thanks for your help on this. C <Application xmlns="http://www.pcpost.com/schema/Application" SchemaVersion="1.0" ProgramId="8" ApplicationDate="2009-08-29"> <Vendors> <Vendor Role="Applicant" Company="Test Company" Contact="Smith, John"/> <Vendor Role="Seller" Company="Test Company" Contact="Doe, Jane"/> <Vendor Role="Installer" Company="Test Company" Contact="Funk, Carl"/> </Vendors> <Participants> <Participant TaxStatus="Individual" Sector="Commercial"> <Roles> <Role>Host Customer</Role> </Roles> </Participants> </Application>

  • How to get Firebug to tell me what error jquery's .load() is returning?

    - by Edward Tanguay
    I'm trying to find out what data/error jquery's .load() method is returning in the following code (the #content element is blank so I assume there is some kind of error). Where do I find in Firebug what content or error .load() is returning? How can I use console.log to find out at least what content is being returned?

Click the button to load content:

  • Android -Layout Manager not showing buttons

    - by Arun
    The following is my code. I want an interface where I have a single line textbox, a multiline textbox with 2 buttons below. I want the multiline textbox to occupy all the space available after rendering the buttons and textbox. For this I created two LinearLayouts inside the main layout. The first one has vertical orientation with layout_width set to fill_parent. The second one is horizontal with fill_parent again. The first one has a textbox for which I have set the layout_height to fill parent. The second one has two textboxes OK and Cancel. When I run this application I get the UI, but the Buttons are very small. I have to set the button height manually. What am I doing wrong here. I don't want to hard code the button height. <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent"> <LinearLayout android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_weight="1"> <TextView android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Name"></TextView> <EditText android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content"></EditText> <TextView android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Contents"></TextView> <EditText android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:gravity="top" /> </LinearLayout> <LinearLayout android:orientation="horizontal" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_weight="1"> </LinearLayout> Thanks, Arun

  • Why do I get Detached Entity exception when upgrading Spring Boot 1.1.4 to 1.1.5

    - by mmeany
    On updating Spring Boot from 1.1.4 to 1.1.5 a simple web application started generating detached entity exceptions. Specifically, a post authentication inteceptor that bumped number of visits was causing the problem. A quick check of loaded dependencies showed that Spring Data has been updated from 1.6.1 to 1.6.2 and a further check of the change log shows a couple of issues relating to optimistic locking, version fields and JPA issues that have been fixed. Well I am using a version field and it starts out as Null following recommendation to not set in the specification. I have produced a very simple test scenario where I get detached entity exceptions if the version field starts as null or zero. If I create an entity with version 1 however then I do not get these exceptions. Is this expected behaviour or is there still something amiss? Below is the test scenario I have for this condition. In the scenario the service layer that has been annotated @Transactional. Each test case makes multiple calls to the service layer - the tests are working with detached entities as this is the scenario I am working with in the full blown application. The test case comprises four tests: Test 1 - versionNullCausesAnExceptionOnUpdate() In this test the version field in the detached object is Null. This is how I would usually create the object prior to passing to the service. This test fails with a Detached Entity exception. I would have expected this test to pass. If there is a flaw in the test then the rest of the scenario is probably moot. Test 2 - versionZeroCausesExceptionOnUpdate() In this test I have set the version to value Long(0L). This is an edge case test and included because I found reference to Zero values being used for version field in the Spring Data change log. This test fails with a Detached Entity exception. Of interest simply because the following two tests pass leaving this as an anomaly. Test 3 - versionOneDoesNotCausesExceptionOnUpdate() In this test the version field is set to value Long(1L). Not something I would usually do, but considering the notes in the Spring Data change log I decided to give it a go. This test passes. Would not usually set the version field, but this looks like a work-around until I figure out why the first test is failing. Test 4 - versionOneDoesNotCausesExceptionWithMultipleUpdates() Encouraged by the result of test 3 I pushed the scenario a step further and perform multiple updates on the entity that started life with a version of Long(1L). This test passes. Reinforcement that this may be a useable work-around. Why can't I use the replacement string?

  • Firefox: Can I use a relative path in the BASE tag?

    - by Aaron Digulla
    I have a little web project where I have many pages and an index/ToC file. The toc file is at the root of my project in toc.html. The pages are spread over a couple of subdirectories and include the toc with an iframe. The project doesn't need a web server, so I can create the HTML in a directory and browse it in my browser. The problem is that I'm running into XSS issues when JavaScript from the toc.html wants to call a function in a page (violation of the same origin policy). So I added base tags in the header with a relative URL to the directory in which toc.html. This works for Konqueror but in Firefox, I have to use absolute paths or the toc won't even display :( Here is an example:

Project 1

This is file is in a subdirectory page. Firefox won't even load it, saying that it can't find page/toc.html. Is there a workaround? I would really like to avoid absolute paths in my export to keep it the same everywhere (locally and when I upload it on the web server later).

  • Android how to make button text bold when pressed or focussed

    - by stealthcopter
    I want to change the text inside a button to be bold when the button is highlighted or pressed. I currently use a xml file to define the button and use the XML to change how it looks when pressed but I would like to do this without using an image. <selector xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android">

</selector> I tried using something like the following, but it doesn't seem to ever get called. final Button btn_reset = (Button) findViewById(R.id.btn_reset); btn_reset.setOnClickListener(this); btn_reset.setOn(new OnFocusChangeListener() { @Override public void onFocusChange(View v, boolean hasFocus) { if (hasFocus){btn_reset.setTypeface(null, Typeface.BOLD);} else{btn_reset.setTypeface(null, Typeface.NORMAL);} } });

  • Android Home Screen Widget Failing with EditText

    - by Chris
    Whenever I add an EditText widget to the layout of my home screen widget (confusing how the term "widget" is being used twice in the Android lexicon :-/ ), I receive the "Problem Loading Widget" error box. Here is the layout I'm attempting; if you remove the EditText, it works... < RelativeLayout android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" <TextView android:id="@+id/textview_hash" android:layout_width="75px" android:layout_height="45px" android:text="Password" android:textSize="11sp" android:gravity="left" android:layout_alignParentTop="true" android:layout_toLeftOf="@+id/edittext_key"> </TextView> <EditText android:id="@+id/edittext_data2" android:layout_width="200px" android:layout_height="50px" android:textSize="12sp" android:layout_marginTop="20px" android:layout_alignParentTop="true" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true"> </EditText> </RelativeLayout> Now, the Google Search home screen widget has an EditText, so it's obviously legal to implement. • Positioning / Scrolling problem with Flex popup.

    - by user284163
    Hi all, I'm trying to work out a specific problem I'm having with positioning in Flex using the PopUpManager. Basically I'm wanting to create a popup which will scroll with the parent container - this is necessary because the parent container is large and if the user's browser window isn't large enough (this will be the case the majority of the time) - they will have to use the scrollbar of the container to scroll down. The problem is that the popup is positioned relative to another component, and it needs to stay by that component. <mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute"> <mx:Script> import mx.core.UITextField; import mx.containers.TitleWindow; import mx.managers.PopUpManager; private function clickeroo(event:MouseEvent):void { var popup:TitleWindow = new TitleWindow(); popup.width = 250; popup.height = 300; popup.title = "Example"; var tf:UITextField = new UITextField(); tf.wordWrap = true; tf.width = popup.width - 30; tf.text = "This window stays put and doesn't scroll when the hbox is scrolled (even with using the hbox as parent in the addPopUp method), I need the popup to be local to the HBox."; popup.addChild(tf); PopUpManager.addPopUp(popup, hbox, false); PopUpManager.centerPopUp(popup); } </mx:Script> <mx:HBox width="100%" height="2000" id="hbox"> <mx:Button label="Click Me" click="clickeroo(event)"/> </mx:HBox> </mx:Application> Could anyone give me any pointers in the right direction? Thanks.

  • Android - Linear Layout arrangement, not positioning as expected

When I run this application I get the UI, but the Buttons are very small (about 5px in height). I have to set the button height manually. What am I doing wrong here. I don't want to hard code the button height. <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent"> <LinearLayout android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_weight="1"> <TextView android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Name"></TextView> <EditText android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content"></EditText> <TextView android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Contents"></TextView> <EditText android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:gravity="top" /> </LinearLayout> <LinearLayout android:orientation="horizontal" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_weight="1"> </LinearLayout> Thanks, Arun

  • How to run an external SWF inside a Flex Application?

    - by lk
    I want to run an Action Script 3.0 Application into a Flex Application. To do this I've done the following: <mx:WindowedApplication windowComplete="loadSwfApplication()" xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"> <mx:Script> private function loadSwfApplication() { var urlRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest("path/to/the/application.swf"); swfLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, loadComplete); swfLoader.load(urlRequest); } private function loadComplete(completeEvent:Event) { var swfApplication:* = completeEvent.target.content; swfApplication.init(); // this is a Function that I made it in the Root class of swfApplication } </mx:Script> <mx:SWFLoader id="sfwLoader"/> </mx:WindowedApplication> The problem is that in the calling of swfApplication.init(); the AIR Player throws me an exception: Security sandbox violation: caller file:///path/to/the/application.swf cannot access Stage owned by app:/SWFApplicationLoader.swf. This is because somewhere in application.swf I use the stage like this: if (root.stage != null) root.stage.addEventListener(Event.REMOVED, someFunction); root.stage.stageFocusRect = false; How can I load this swf application and USE the stage without any problems?

  • IE 6 bug? width: 987

    - by William
    I'm having a very weird issue in IE6. If I set a div container do the width of 987px it adds a spacing between the container and an absolute positioned element inside. Any other width works fine, it's just 987. Is there something I'm not seeing? Code to reproduce:

IE6 Issue

a

This is crazy.

  • How to Create Element in XSLT When Copying Using Templates

    - by John Dumont
    Hello, I'm trying to create an element in an XML where the basic content is copied and modified. My XML is something like <root> <node> <child>value</child> <child2>value2</child2> </node> <node2>bla</node2> </root> The number of children of node may change as well as the children of root. The XSLT should copy the whole content, modify some values and add some new. The copying and modifying is no problem: <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" version="2.0"> <xsl:output method="xml" encoding="UTF-8"/> <xsl:template match="@*|node()"> <xsl:copy> <xsl:apply-templates select="@*|node()"/> </xsl:copy> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet> (+ further templates for modifications). But how do I add a new element in this structure on some path, e.g. I want to add an element as the last element of the "node" node. The "node" element itself always exists.
